I just misted the inside of my DD album (a studio calico 6X8) with Heidi Swapp's Color Shine. Just a fine misting, not a heavy load. I just wanted to tame down the bright whiteness of it with a little shimmer.
It's been about 30 - 45 minutes and it's tacky.
Will this resolve? If not, any ideas how to fix it?
Thanks!

Is the paper you sprayed it on coated? Did you shake your Color Shine for a looong time before spraying? I tend to blot down Color Shine not long after spraying it with a paper towel. But since you've left it on for so long, I'm guessing that option is gone and you now have to deal with trying to dry the product without risking to cause damage to your album. I'd rather let other Peas give you ideas. I don't want to give advice that might make the matter worse... Sorry this has happend to you!

If it's still tacky after a day or so, pounce over it with an embossing buddy bag or dust it with a bit of talcum powder and a fluffy brush. That should take away some of the sticky.

Thanks! I think I have one of those embossing bags somewhere and definitely have powder.
I did dab it with a paper towel after spraying and shook the bottle before spraying.

Please take this as just an idea, but nothing tried & true...
How about drying it with a heat gun or hair dryer?

Ok, here's what I did:
Found the embossing pouch and rubbed it all over the inside of the album.
It did help.
Wiped it off with a paper towel.
Blow dried it with the hair drier for a while. I was afraid to warp the album.
It's not as tacky as it was but it's still tacky to the touch.
My next plan is to rub wax paper all over it.
I'm at a loss. And likely out $$$. I have to get a new album or figure something out. And fast.
Can you think of anything else?
Maybe I'll put a towel over it and try to iron it.

It sounds like the heat isn't helping in this case. Before moving on next, I'd reproduce the splatter on a similar cardstock quality (same finish as the album cover you sprayed on if possible). And I'd let it cure for a bit like happened with your previous woopsie.
I'd use that as a testing ground to experiment on. Could it be the heat is actually NOT helping it dry down but reactiving some sort of oily particles in it? It almost sounds like it's acting like wax. It could be that you can salvage this still without anyone knowing. If you can get rid of most of the Color Shine greasiness and cover it carefully with seemingly random dots using a snow effect stencil (easy to DIY) and gold embossing powder, it'll be almost just like you wanted to begin with and no one will be the wiser!
Do you have a few close-up shots of the situation to share perhaps?

Ok, blemon , this has got to be salvageable. I refuse to believe otherwise. It's mostly a very fine mist with some larger drops. Is everything still tacky or only the larger drops? ETA: Have you tried to use clear embossing powder on top of the tacky bits yet? If not (and provided you have clear embossing powder), can you carefully apply on one tacky drop and gently hit the embossing gun? If you sprayed both sides of the inside covers, definitely try where it would be least visible just in case it goes awry.

Krylon Fine Arts Fixatif should work or Krylon Workable Matte Fixatif if you have that.

I know you're talking about tacky as in the physical sensation, but every time I see this thread title, my overactive imagination conjures up a scrapbooker who used Color Shine for the first time and now thinks it's a tacky (tasteless) effect and was so outraged she had to make a thread asking how to fix it (like, "how dare this Color Shine hussy come into MY decent God-fearing home and ruin MY scrapbook layout, the nerve!"). It makes me giggle, so I had to share!
I hope you can figure out a way to make the Color Shine dry!

I shared my suggestion... embossing powder... on your instagram, but I was also thinking if you can't figure anything out, you can definitely just cover the inside of the album with patterned paper. I'm sure I've see people do that before and it comes out looking great! You definitely don't need to find a new album.

Sorry that happened. I know it must be frustrating and disappointing. Instead of tossing the album, as others have said, just stick some patterned paper over it.

Thanks everyone!
My ACOT order came today and one of the cocoa vanilla papers is similar to this so I’m going to just cover it up.
Then throw out the color shine. I’ll stick (ha) with mr hueys

SUCCESS!!!
I took a hand sanitizer wipe (75% alcohol) to clean the rings and just decided to give the album a wipe and off it came!
I immediately wiped the moisture off with a paper towel and my album is good as new. Woot!
I still hate how bright it is but I’m going to think on that before making any rash decisions.
I have some thick gold stuff you rub in (in a little pot) and I also have some rub n buff somewhere.
Wish me luck.
I would like to thank the coronavirus for forcing me to have a glorious selection of sanitizing wipes.

wendifful me too! Everytime I see the thread title I think, “sure, I guess some people might think the gold is a bit gaudy…”. 😂
