We got a new grill recently and have been using it quite a bit. But, I'm getting tired of burgers and hot dogs. . I've been having DH do some chicken as well as salmon but would love some new recipes for marinades, rubs, etc. what are your favorites? What about sides?

I grill pork steaks, dh's favorite, but that may be a Midwestern thing. I do have some other really good recipes but its 10:30 and I'm too tired to post them now.
maybe someone or maybe me, lol should start a thread for grilled dishes on the recipe forum. I'll try to remember tomorrow.

I do a lot of BBQ chicken and steaks. Zucchini and asparagus. I'd love to eat more pork, but I just can't seem to cook it properly..it's always so dry. So I reserve pork for the slow cooker.

Look up Rosemary Ranch Chicken on AllRecipes, it is awesome. Grilled pizza is really good too. I haven't done this one myself, but my mom said she had grilled POUND CAKE!!! for dessert at someone's house and that it was amazing.

I would say Dh's Baby Back Ribs. The one I REALLY don't like on the grill is chicken. It's so hard to get it done right.

I love chicken ka bobs. We marinate the chicken in limearita (margarita in can) and then ka bob it with peppers and onions. My favorite!

In addition to the usual....steak, beef ribs, hamburger and chicken. I like to grill carrots, corn on the cob, apples slices, pineapple slices, and dessert foil packs(rice krispie cubes, ice cream sandwich cubes, chocolate, caramel.....messy and gooey, but delicious!)

Kabobs with chicken or steak, sweet onion and pineapple. Corn on the cob in the husk. Red potatoes, onions, butter & garlic wrapped in foil.

Our favorite foods off the grill are steaks, pizza, kabobs and corn-on-the-cob. Last year I started marinating beef and pork roasts overnight, searing them on all sides and slow-grilling them over med heat....they turn out amazing!!

I know this won't go over well, but I do a lot of marinated tofu steaks. I marinate the tofu in whatever marinade I'm doing the meat in (it's a mixed household) and then grill it exactly like the meat. I use the extra firm to get the right texture. Apparently, it's really good... my meat eating SO asked for it.
I also do a lot of Portobello caps on the grill.

One of my favorites is swordfish. I put a piece of foil on the grill first, a big chunk of butter and then the swordfish. The only seasoning I put on it is Montreal Steak seasoning which I believe is by McCormick spices. My family can't get enough of it when I cook it. The extra perk cooking that outside is the house doesn't smell like fish plus you just throw the foil away when done and all nice and clean!

Dh likes to grill asparagus with balsamic vinegar and olive oil on foil on the grill. Don't give up on the 'ole burger just yet! We like them stuffed with feta or blue cheese. Served on Hawaiian rolls. OMG, so good!
As to salmon marinade? We use to make our own but we are loving the different flavors from Safeway at the moment.

Oh I love asparagus on the grill... I don't even use foil. Just make sure it always crosses the grill. I hate how short the asparagus season is here, I'd love to have more through the year.

We grill a lot of veggies, but my very favorite is a big, juicy shitake mushroom cap! YUM! I also like grilled corn, asparagus, regular mushrooms, grilled salad, pineapple, peaches, pound cake. SO many good foods for grilling! And now I'm starving

I love grilled pizza! Just make sure the grill is well oiled as is the dough.
I've done grilled pound cake. It's excellent. Serve it with some grilled peaches or pineapple and some ice cream... yum! Dagnabbit now I have to pull out my ice cream churn and do this dessert this weekend.

I think everyone covered it all!
I have a great marinade for chicken! I have made it for my scrapbook group (We really need to refer to our group as something else since most of us don't even scrapbook any longer!)
The recipe states to marinate for two hours, but I always do so overnight. The chicken comes out SO tender and tasty!!
Yogurt Marinated Chicken
1 cup Plain Yogurt
1/4 cup Olive oil
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
2 cloves Garlic -- minced
1 tbsp Rosemary -- sub Oregano
1 tbsp Thyme -- sub Basil or Marjoram
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
4 each Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
Combine all ingredients in a bowl (or large Ziploc bag) add chicken breasts
and allow to marinate for at least 2 hours.
Grill chicken on medium-high and serve.

One of the easiest marinades for chicken is balsamic vingerette dressing. I use Paul Newmans or Ken's Steakhouse. I usually marinate the chicken for a couple of hrs or if I forget 20 minutes while the grill is heating. Very good! Also, the secret to grilling boneless chicken is not to over cook it. I usually grill about 15 to 20 minutes depending on thickness of chicken.
