Anyone that has this printer, did you buy a case? If so, what kind and do you like it? I took it to my first crop and was so nervous traveling with it.

I just put mine in a bag that is going with me to the crop. I don't wrap it or anything, just make sure it isn't on the bottom.

I've only traveled with mine a couple of times since I got it a few years ago, but when I did I just used the original box. I have room for some 4x6 & 5x7 paper in the box so it works for me...but I do like that bag, might have to think about that!

The box is so big and bulky so that’s why it was looking for a bag. Thanks for the suggestion!

I also haven't traveled with mine, but if I did I wouldn't be worried about it sitting on the top in my bag, etc.

The case I have was gifted to me. I don't "carry" the printer in the case because when you use the straps in mine it would have the printer on its "back." So, printer goes in the case and then in another bag so that it carries in the proper orientation. I'm worried the ink would leak and ruin the printer. I don't even know if that is possible but I figure better safe than sorry.

I don't even know if that is possible but I figure better safe than sorry. I wondered about ink leakage, too, and read the FAQ's on the Epson website. It says NOT to tilt the printer, stand it up vertically, or flip it upside down as the ink may leak. It also does not recommend taking the ink cartridge out as the print head may dry out and cause printing problems when you reinstall. I'm wondering now what to use for a case. I'm thinking of modifying a quilted casserole carrying case pattern that I have. Of course, that won't leave any room for accessories, paper, or ink. This may take some creative thinking! Epson made a case at one point but it is discontinued. Not sure it would have fit the 400 anyway. |

I'll be interested in the casserole carrier too for travel if it fits....I know an Epson PM 400 is in my future!
