This is a horrible tragedy and I think we're all going to be united in condemning it and mourning the innocent lives lost during such a wonderful community event. However, I've now read multiple news stories and I don't see anything like what you've posted here about the suspect (which tbh, aligns with your typical posts as they relate to race and politics.) I did read that he has an extensive criminal history and police believe he may have been fleeing the scene of another crime. You know, if it WAS retaliatory, we will all condemn that too. But to make unsubstantiated claims that it was related to the Rittenhouse acquittal feels icky.

I'm just horrified over this. As a former band mamma of a petite girl who along with her middle school band marched down a few Christmas parade routes I'm just devastated for these poor people.

From the press conference. The was a domestic dispute reported and she stated there was a knife. The police never got to that scene at the time to confirm the complaint or knife. He, Brooks, drove off and drove into the parade. The police responded to the parade and did not get to the domestic scene.
There was no pursuit, no chase.

He is a real piece of shit who was a multiple felon and was released on $1k bail after jumping bail from a previous felony. He was not being chased by police. It was intentional. 53 people’s lives ruined. I hope he rots.

At 4:00 CST, the town 5 miles away was rocked by horrible tragedy. A red SUV ran parade barricades, and intentionally ran over no fewer than 30 parade participants. Some were high school ban members. Others were dancing grannies. On top of this, the passenger fired at the crowd. I know people that were at the parade. I have family that teach in the district from which teens were run over.
It was intentional. Very, very sad.
Preliminary report from arrest site and local sources are identifying the suspect in custody as Darrel Brooks.
Before the incident he was witnessed in Kenosha threatening action over the Kenosha verdict. There have been posts (taken down) urging people to "take it to the burbs" and get justice.
I'm hoping this isn't the case.
However, killing children and grandmothers who were not part of a jury, trial, or activity in Kenosha is every kind of fucked up and I'm over it. Any attempt by anyone to justify doing this is beyond helping.
Could you update this please? These details are not being reported anywhere, and this is spreading false information. |

When will the courts treat domestic abusers are the dangerous felons they are and stop w/the "slaps on the wrist" and "oh, who knows what happens between a man and a woman."
They need to be locked up and then sent through YEARS of counseling before they're back on the streets.
But, of course, that costs money. Money we happily allocate to the m/billionaires and "job creators" but when it comes to courts, and social services, it's "What can we cut? How many cases can we pile onto public prosecutors, defenders, social workers?" |

Update: The suspect didn't plan to run over a parade. That was speculation. I am updating.
However, he did run over a prior girlfriend, bail on child support for years, got out of jail on his own accord, and then got in a knife fight hours before the parade.
A complete waste of space shit human being.

Um, I don't think so. I read her initial post. I'm pretty sure she was saying if she got caught in her car (trapped) during a riot she'd gun it. Can you say you wouldn't do the same thing? Honestly..would you just sit there and wait to be possibly dragged out of your car and beaten or..S.A? <shudder> adding that IDK what I'd do. I'd be scared to hit people and might wind up a dummy sitting there like a dead duck. Correct me if I'm wrong someone.
