This is on trump when he made COVID -19 a political issue. Now you have these politicians acting like they are medical types that know better then the real medical types. And then you have these fools that believe the politicians over the medical types.
From ABC News….
“Florida governor vows to 'fight back' against FDA's 'reckless' decision”
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has vowed to "fight back" against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's "reckless" decision to limit the use of two monoclonal antibody treatments for COVID-19 that were found to be ineffective against the now-dominant omicron variant.
"This is wrong what they are doing, and we have many people now who are very concerned because they were going to go in and get it today or tomorrow," DeSantis said during a press conference Tuesday.
While the governor acknowledged that the treatments are less effective against omicron, he claimed that people in Florida have seen their COVID-19 symptoms clear up in the last month after receiving the treatments. DeSantis, however, did not offer data to support that claim.
"We're going to fight back against this," he told reporters.
When asked whether he plans to take legal action against the federal government, DeSantis said: "I don't know. We're going to see what we can do."
With omicron accounting for more than 99% of COVID-19 infections nationwide, the FDA on Monday revised its authorizations for two of the main monoclonal antibody treatments that have been widely used across the country -- one made by Eli Lilly and the other by Regeneron. The FDA said both treatments are no longer authorized for use in any U.S. state, territory or jurisdiction and should not be used for treatment against COVID-19. In the future, the treatments could still be used to help patients who become sick with other variants, according to the FDA.
Following the FDA's decision, Florida health officials announced that monoclonal antibody treatment sites would be shut down across the state. More than 2,000 appointments for the treatments were canceled statewide on Tuesday alone, according to the governor's office.
"Unfortunately, as a result of this abrupt decision made by the federal government, all monoclonal antibody state sites will be closed until further notice," the Florida Department of Health said in a statement late Monday. "Florida disagrees with the decision that blocks access to any available treatments in absence of clinical evidence. To date, such clinical evidence has not been provided by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)."

Speaking of Covid treatment.... How about QAnon advice? Some actually pleaded with him to take the baby to the hospital after she was turning blue... QAnon Followers Are Telling Parents to Give Their Sick Babies Ivermectin “We don’t trust hospitals. I told my son to give her more ivermectin.” DG By David Gilbert Jason appeared to be really worried about his granddaughter Ruby, and wanted advice about how to help her. “My granddaughter is sick. Flu like symptoms, she’s six months old,” Jason said on Tuesday night. “Her mother is worried sick, she just had COVID last week.” But rather than speaking to a medical professional, Jason was seeking advice from a QAnon Telegram group filled with tens of thousands of people who think COVID is a hoax. Do you guys think it’s safe to give ivermectin to an infant?” Jason wrote in the chat group. The group Jason was asking for advice has spent months sharing information about how to obtain ivermectin, how to avoid going to hospitals, and how to treat the symptoms of COVID—which they don’t believe exists—at home. “Baby aspirin to thin the blood a little and drop any fever and I would put some ivermectin on the bottoms of her feet,” one group member responded. Others encouraged Jason to seek out those within the community who were “experts” in ivermectin usage. And one user called Katie, clearly believed she was such an expert: “From what I understand, yes it is safe to give to an infant, however please stop calling it COVID, it’s not COVID, it’s a simple cold. That’s how we got in this mess to begin with,” Katie wrote.Moments later, Jason posted an update saying that he’d followed Katie’s advice. “We gave her two doses of ivermectin at 50mg each. That’s what was recommended by someone on here. She got really sick after that. Related? I don’t know,” Jason claimed in an update. Within minutes, Jason reported that things had gone from bad to worse. “Baby threw up. Is that common side effect? She's also turning a tad blue,” Jason said. When someone told him they’d gone to the emergency room when their child turned blue, Jason responded: “We don’t trust hospitals. I told my son to give her more ivermectin.” Others pointed out that if the child died, he’d need a lawyer, not a doctor.www.vice.com/en/article/7kb4nx/qanon-ivermectin-sick-babies

So many things wrong with this. Baby aspirin? They stopped giving aspirin to kids what 30+ years ago. The child is turning blue so give it more ivermectin. The child is throwing up but don’t know if it’s related. That poor child. I hope it’s ok. I can’t believe that people still don’t believe this is real. One of the women in my husband’s office got it and was surprised as she didn’t think it was real or something to that effect.

Just like so many are still advocating for ivermectin. Don’t forget that one of his big donors has a stake in these meds so he is going to do what he can to keep the money flowing. It’s an expensive treatment so lots of money involved. I don’t get the anti big pharma but then promoting other treatments that are also big pharma. And more expensive treatments at that and ones that can have nasty side effects.

Oh, I'm sorry..... Melania Trump's auction of a hat she once wore at the White House isn't quite going as planned. *** The auction was expected to open with a minimum bid of $250,000. However, as of Tuesday evening, only a few bids had been made, with the dollar value of the highest one hovering around $170,000, according to the New York Times. *** Bids were only accepted in the cryptocurrency of the Solana blockchain called SOL, which was trading at $170 per token when the auction was announced. "But in the weeks since, SOL, along with most other cryptocurrencies, has suffered major declines in value. On the evening before the closing of the auction on Tuesday, each SOL was worth about $95," the NYT reported. "Mrs. Trump could hold on to the Solana tokens and hope that their value increases. Or the dip in value might continue, leaving her with an even smaller take." www.rawstory.com/melania-trump-2656478650/

Ladapo is facing tough hearing in FL, for heath position. Florida senators walk out after DeSantis' surgeon general refuses to answer if vaccines are good Sarah K. Burris January 26, 2022 Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) appointed Ladapo to be the state's surgeon general, but since then, many questions have surfaced about his experience, his resume and his medical advice. *** In the hearing before the state Senate Wednesday, Dr. Ladapo refused to answer questions about whether he supported vaccines. In fact, he was asked five times about vaccines in general, not exclusively about the COVID-19 vaccine. *** An example is that Ladapo spoke to the Health and Human Services Appropriations Committee without a "single slide or chart about COVID, where we are and what we’re doing about it. *** Senate President Wilton Simpson, a Republican, has taken issue with Ladapo, the Tallahassee Democrat described. Simpson oversees the confirmation process and Ladapo refused to wear a mask at Sen. Tina Polsky's request. Polsky has cancer and is undergoing treatment, prompting Simpson to send out a memo on the incident. www.rawstory.com/ron-desantis-surgeon-general-vaccines/

Adding to DeSantis' nonsense.. Why did DeSantis muzzle top Orange County health official?Orlando Sentinel January 26, 2022 Last week, Dr. Raul Pino, Orange County’s top public health official, was placed on administrative leave by Gov. Ron DeSantis’ office. In the middle of a pandemic. Just a few weeks after Orange County hit its all-time high for COVID-19 infections, with hospitalization rates climbing. This is when DeSantis decided to bench a trusted and passionate voice for public health in Florida’s fifth-largest and fastest-growing county. Throughout his tenure, Pino has been a staunch advocate for Central Florida’s struggling low-income residents as well as its fast-growing minority population. He’s been ada... (So why the suspension? A Department of Health official offered reporters from the Orlando Sentinel and other media outlets a brief statement: “The decision to get vaccinated is a personal medical choice that should be made free from coercion and mandates from employers. there was no mandate, just a gentle reminder) nordot.app/859053173278031872

From my lofty perch in Sonoma County, this is how you do it!
“Secretary of State Approves Sonoma County’s Voter’s Choice Election Model”
SANTA ROSA (CBS SF/BCN) – Sonoma County election officials announced this week that the California Secretary of State’s Office approved the county’s Voter’s Choice Act election model.
County Registrar of Voters Deva Marie Proto said that Sonoma County will now be required to mail every registered voter a ballot for each election in which they are eligible to participate. The county will also have a combination of ballot drop-off boxes and “vote centers” instead of polling places.
The goal of the Voter’s Choice Act model is to offer voters more flexibility in choosing how, where and when to cast their ballots, Chief Deputy Registrar of Voters Wendy Hudson said.
According to Hudson, vote centers are open “multiple” days, not just on Election Day. Voters can use whichever vote center is most convenient for them, not a pre-assigned location, as with polling centers. The centers will also provide conditional voting registration (such as same-day registration), the ability to change one’s address, language assistance and accessible ballot marking devices for voters with disabilities.
The new model will kick off with an April 12 special election in Windsor, followed by the statewide primary election on June 7.
The registrar’s office will be holding community meetings as well as sending out information about the new model to voters via mailings, emails and other public service announcements, Hudson said.
More information about the new model can be found at sonomacounty.ca.gov/vote.“
Imagine living in an area that officials want to make it easier for those eligible to vote easier to vote regardless of who they are .

But it’s not going to happen until all the voters acknowledge what is happening in red states is not right and they chose to do something about it by throwing the bums out of office. Its almost like these voters who continue to vote for Republicans lack a moral compass. In an ideal world, every American would be able to cast their vote in an easy, convenient way without having to take 3 buses, lose pay, wait in line for 10 hours in 100 degree heat etc. Regrettably, that's not the reality. Red states with Republican legislatures have rigged they system through gerrymandering and voter suppression to make it nearly impossible to just throw the bums out of office. Republicans are specifically targeting the voters most likely to vote against them. And Fox, other right wing media outlets and Republicans spin the voter suppression as federal overreach or election fairness and integrity so they will never lose support from their base. Good luck telling Republican or Trump supporters they lack a moral compass. They clearly don't see it that way. They think the election was stolen and Biden is an illegitimate president. They think the insurrectionists are political prisoners. Maybe Democrats can be successful in courts trying to undo extreme gerrymandering or redistricting. However, with the current make up of the Supreme Court and the number of Trump appointed judges on lower courts, that seems optimistic.

So because you have states like Florida and a Supreme Court pulling decisions out of the air its somehow that’s all President Biden’s fault the pandemic is still with us.
