I feel like my quest is over. I have been searching for bins to fit on my Hemnes bookshelves, which is where I store just about everything except 12x12 paper. My scrap space will be moving up in a few weeks to a main living area, so I want a uniform look that "hides" the contents as much as possible. I stopped in to the Container Store yesterday, and after looking at all the things (and borrowing a tape measure from their designer) I found the 3x2 bins. I purchased one to take it home and make sure there was no overhang (Ikea's measurements showed there would be) and it fits PERFECTLY. I have a few more shipping to me, but I *think* I can get 3 accross on the shelves. I'm not sure how they will do with the weight of 6x6 pads, but they do seem to be the sturdiest cloth bin containers I've ever seen! Plus the price point is great too! Link so you can see the product (not an affilate link): www.containerstore.com/s/storage/cubes-cubbies/light-grey-poppin-3x2-storage-bin/12d?productId=11010822

EDIT: it did the same for my link, very strange. . .
The link just redirects like 5 times and then brings you to the main Container Store landing page. Let's see if this link will work (assuming this is the same product you were trying to link).
These look great (I just searched for 3x2 poppin). Thanks for the tip!

It is confusing for them to call it a 3x2 storage cubby when it is actually 8x13. It looks nice.

PSA regarding Hemnes bookshelf & scrapbooking supplies. I stored some books & supplies and was very careful about not exceeding the shelf weight limit. I even added a third bracket in the middle to give the shelf additional support. It still pulled out from the wall and created a huge mess while it fell to the floor. Epic. Two page layout epic! I recommend you add extra brackets and keep 10 pounds under the shelf weight limit.

The heaviest thing I have on mine would be my 6x6 pads, and I have two containers of them. I should weigh them to see if I should spread them to two different shelves!

Definitely weigh them. Also store them on the lowest shelves (I’m assuming these will be your heaviest items). I think if you back off on the max weight per shelf you’ll be just fine.

Finding an organization "unicorn" is truly the best feeling!! I hope you'll share photos of your space once you've got your shelving put together!

Nice find - should look beautiful! Maybe unrelated to hmp's bookcase crash since it sounds like it was the entire bookcase and not shelves, Ikea is supplying free, longer shelf pins for Hemnes purchases through April 2017. Link plus announcement in case the link goes to the home page, which sometimes occurs - the diagram and photo don’t show up: www.ikea.com/us/en/newsroom/corporate-news/safety-announcement-hemnes-bookcases-and-glass-cabinets-pubd05feb07“Longer shelf support pins for the HEMNES bookcases and glass cabinets are available to IKEA customers free of charge, ensuring that IKEA patrons can safely enjoy their products. Tue May 28 2019 [National] IKEA is making a safety announcement for HEMNES bookcases and glass cabinets. The affected HEMNES bookcases and glass cabinets have been sold in US stores and online from April 2010 to April 2017 for between $149- $399. Please see below for a full list of affected articles. IKEA of Sweden has received 29 global reports of injury due to shelves falling from the HEMNES units due to wood shrinkage. Seventeen of these reported incidents occurred in the United States, resulting in minor cuts or bruises. We are urging customers who may need longer shelf support for HEMNES models purchased from April 2010 to April 2017, to contact IKEA for new longer pins free of charge. No proof of purchase (receipt) is needed to obtain replacement pins. For more information, please contact IKEA at 888-966-4532or visit your local store. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.” I've wanted one of the bookcases, though the color is out of stock, and had noticed the safety warning.

PSA, the bins are awesome, but don't fit 3 to a shelf. A multi-purpose bin (I think its a medium, the sticker is removed) WILL fit along with two of the 3x2 bins. But doesn't provide the cohesive look I was going for. Hmmm, decisions.
