I'm pretty new to PL app, I've watched a bunch of tutorials and googled a lot but can't seem to find the answer to my question. I have a photo that looks perfectly normal on my phone, but when I slot it into the PL photo resize app section, it cuts off a bunch of the photo. I thought they were just supposed to shrink it? I haven't had this happen before and would be glad of any advice. Thanks!

The photos won’t shrink in the app. If it doesn’t meet the dimensions predetermined by the slot you chose in app, it will crop it to fit but not shrink it. You can move the photo around to include what you want to show but it will not make the whole photo fit.

It's so odd, as I haven't had any issues with other photos, it has just made them smaller. But with this one, it cut off a bunch. I wonder where I either went wrong with this one, or did something right with the others. grrrr....I always seem to have so much trouble printing small and here I thought i had the answer now..but I guess not.

When you say it has cut a bunch off do you mean that it is as if it has zoomed way in on the photo? Or the photo is the same size but you aren't seeing it all.

If it’s zoomed in on the photo, try pinching the photo in the pocket. That usually works on mine. I hope it’s not a glitch.

It's possible that this specific photo was taken in a different size ratio on your phone and so it fits into the crop area differently. Just a thought.

I have been testing the heck out of this, and I believe you are correct. The photo I was trying to print was actually a screen shot and I think it messed it up. I am going to have to try and figure out a better way to do this. Thanks!

I have that happen from time to time and generally it depends on if the photo is portrait or landscape. You need to ensure that you are putting it in the right size pocket in the PL app - for instance if it is a portrait mode photo, then you need a vertical pocket to put it into but if it is a landscape mode photo, then you need to put it into a horizontal pocket in the app.
So for example...if I have taken a photo in portrait mode (with my phone up/down as if you are talking on it) and I put it in a horizontal pocket in the app, it will not display the whole photo, sometimes it still works, I just have to move the photo around to get the subject where I want it. But sometimes, it just doesn't work, so if I want to use the photo, I will have to switch my layout design to one that has a vertical pocket so my photo can fit better into it.
