I have the original cameo and I know there were (are?) issues with using windows 10. Found an article on the silhouette website about updating firmware and it sounded like that might help?
I haven’t used it in years. I’m not sure I want to buy a new one but buying dies is $$$
Anyone still using one?

I'm still using mine with Windows 10. I had to do the firmware update, took awhile because I had to order an SD card small enough to work in the Cameo. I don't think it was hard, just frustrating because of the limited SD card size.
My laptop is ready & waiting for a Windows 11 update...now I'm curious if the OG Cameo will work with 11?

My friend was able to get hers to work with Windows 10. I tried twice and was t able to.

I was not able to get it to work. I upgraded to a Cameo 3 and it is so much better I'm glad I did it.

I did this update with an SD card from an older digital camera. It was pretty straight forward and my machine works better since I updated the firmware. |

I am waffling between getting a new one and trying to salvage my old one. I know there isn’t a discount often on the 4.

msupea - I just upgraded from the Portrait 1 to the Portrait 3. What a difference! Cuts are smooth and actually cut all the way through the paper. It was a big decision for me because I don't use it all that much, but when I do I want it to be frustration free. I say try to update the firmware and software today. If it doesn't work then buy a new machine. (easy for me to say, right?!) I saw in the Michael's ad that they have the Cameo 4 for $270. Note: When I updated the firmware for the P1, it would not download to my Win10 laptop. I had to use my old Win7 and put it on an SD card. Not sure if this would be the same for your model.

Well my patience with updating/salvaging the old one didn't last too long. So I now own a cameo 4.  trying my first cut out right now...and I forgot to change the media type (to heavy cardstock) Oops. didn't cut all the way through. I'll have to check out the links saved on the page. And I need to see if I can save the original cut files I had from before. they are on my old laptop. |

I need to see if it will work with my Mac. It's good that it seems to work for some people with Windows. So far so good for me. I'm still using the original one with my Mac and everything has been okay with me. |

Yes it is possible! I asked about it on a video voice over and a subbie reached out with the instructions and I got it to connect and I still use my Cameo 1.

My workplace has an OG cameo and I successfully hooked it up to a windows 10 laptop yesterday using the SD card method.
