I've really gotten into stamping in my scrapbook layouts over the past several months. And I'm loving it. BUT...I've been using Pampers baby wipes to clean my stamps. They work great to clean, but leave little fibers behind on the stamps. Does anyone use baby wipes to clean off stamps that clean well but don't leave fibers behind?

I switched to a stamp shammy never looked back.

Cheaper wipes that do not tout themselves for being “cloth like” are less linty. But a shammy is the best! I am so happy I got the lawn fawn one. It’s awesome.

Get a stamp shammy, you won’t regret it. I’ve used all kinds of wipes…Kirkland, Target, water wipes, pampers, etc. they are all linty

I don't have a stamp shammy but picked up a 3 pack of microfiber washclothes at Target and they are awesome. I think any wipe will be linty.

Yes to the stamp shammy or microfiber cloths. They work so much better than baby wipes.

I use a baby wipe, but I don't scour with it. I just do a gentle wipe. If I need to do a thorough scrubbing, go in the kitchen and use Dawn and a soft toothbrush and have at it.

Thanks!! I just ordered the Lawn Fawn stamp shammy. Do I just use it dry? Do I need to clean it, and if so, how?

I went cheap and bought a car chamois at the dollar store. I cut mine into 4 pieces. Once wet they stay damp in the tube for quite awhile.

I'm not a fan of the stamp shammy. I use the Kirkland wipes and I don't have a lint/fiber issue.

I take cut up pieces of flannel I have and have a wet/dry when I stamp. Then they just get thrown in the washing machine and reused.

Thanks!! I just ordered the Lawn Fawn stamp shammy. Do I just use it dry? Do I need to clean it, and if so, how? When dry it’s stiff as a board. 😂 It’ll seem like it can’t possibly soften, but it does once it’s had a minute to soak. Then it’s very soft and pliable. I wet mine, squeeze a little so it’s not sopping, then keep it in an iris 4x6 case. I leave it open while vim working, so I can just wipe the stamp (on the block) on it quickly. When I’m done scrapping I close the case. It stays damp for a long while (days!), so I’m really only rewetting it a couple times a week at most.

I bought an Absorber at Walmart, synthetic shammy. It’s HUGE. I cut off a small piece and gave the rest to DH for drying cars. I let it dry out between uses because otherwise it gets very stinky. Just run it under warm/hot water and it softens up. I clean it with regular soap when I’m wetting it and it gets out any ink that is not permanently stained on the shammy. To keep it moist while I’m crafting I put it in a cheap plastic lidded soap dish and leave the lid up when I’m done so it can dry.

No car drying here.

i use microfiber clothes almost all the time now but Costco’s Kirkland Signature Baby Wipes are excellent, and can be purchased on Amazon too. Zero fibers/lint for me and locals I’d given packs too, and even if a container is very old, the wipes don’t dry because the container is soft and pressing it down lets the air escape from the top opening. Unfortunately you have to buy a lot, but I’ve used the same ones purchased years ago and they’re fine.
I also have a stamp shammy - which is very good - but switched to microfiber clothes a while back and prefer them since I keep a stack in my craft room and when enough are inky I toss them in the washing machine. They stain - which I think looks neat - but no color comes off - even if cleaning something one color and then switching to another right away.
I’ve heard great things about The Absorber too.

Lots of great suggestions. I also have the lawn fawn stamp shammy. I’ve never washed it. You use it damp. I have the case as well. There is a good video on scrapbook.com that showcases the shammy & case in use. I also still love and use my very old Stampin Up stamp scrubber. Hope you find something that works for you.

I use a dry microfiber cloth and a little squirt of hand sanitizer. Works amazingly well and dries almost instantly. My stamps and acrylic blocks are cleaner than they've ever been.

Seventh Generation wipes are NOT GOOD for stamps. What a mess.
I do like Simple Green as it works well to clean the stamps. I have a sponge by the sink that I used to clean them but it's not the best system.

I use an Absorber-I cut a small square off and keep it damp in an airtight jar. It has never smelled musty. I love this over baby wipes due to the lint issue (plus it's a one time purchase).
