Not Just For Boys Kit Club is no longer making their big kits. They are only going to do page kits from now on.
I am so disappointed. The first of the month I always get up early to make sure I get one of their great kits. I've been disappointed lately that they have been getting away from their more "boy themed" kits. Now they aren't making any at all.
They were one of the last kit clubs to make truly great 12x12 kits. I just loved them. I'm probably not going to get many of their 2 page kits- they have had a couple that I have liked but I never follow the directions for those kind of kits- I just make up my own design with those supplies. I hope they still have a la carte stuff- I love their embellishments.
Anyways, I understand that they have to do what is best for their business but I've bought something from them every month since they've started and I can't see myself doing that from now on. We shall see.
So that leaves Felicity Jane, which isn't my style at all. And Hip Kit, which is fine but not great. I'm still mourning that Cocoa Daisy doesn't do 12x12 anymore- I just loved their style.

Part of me was disappointed to see this announcement because I am not a fan of page kits (and thought theirs were overpriced...probably because of my personal feelings about page kits).
But on the other hand, I've been disappointed with the last several kits & haven't bought anything for a few months. The style is just not my idea of boyish kits. I have a lot of product that I'm not sure how to use or if I'll ever use. Some kits have gotten me out of my comfort zone, but its gotten to be too much.
There must be a following for the page kits so I hope it works for them.

Wonder if their decision is based on the drop off of sales for their big kits?
The last few didn't appeal to me. And then they got caught in the Bella Blvd My Tribe fiasco, so I think that kit was cancelled or delayed, so more financial issues.
I had been buying their kits pretty regularly up until a few months ago. I really liked their masculine vibe. And I liked that if I wanted to, I could double up on the pp.
Wonder if they could have tried a subscription only or a pre-order model so they could count on the money coming in each month. Wish they had done that instead of cancelling the big kits, but I guess I contributed to their decision by not ordering recently...

I have been following a youtuber who is on their design team for a while. I feel like their kits started to feel very samey- formulaic. But I agree that is sad news that they are going to stop making their main kit!! They did fill a void that I think a lot of customers wanted.

I do like their kits but I am at a point where I don’t need to buy a large kit every month. I have too much stuff and I don’t use it up fast enough. I have purchased of few of their kits recently (and I’ve actually used a couple!) though because I do want to support them. The page kits look more like mini-kits and for me, may be more reasonable than the bigger kits since they wouldn’t have as much ‘stuff’ in them. However, I get that it is a bummer that another 12x12 kit is slowly dwindling away.

I think part of the challenge is for me is at that price point, I need to love every.single.thing. that is in that kit. There is only one that I really loved. But yes, it is sad to see the end of kits as we probably know them.

I was disappointed to see this as well. I stopped subscribing due to finances and that the big kit stopped being more masculine themed. I found I was using the themed kits more than my sub.
I like their embellishments and cut files since I can't cut my own. I tried one of the page kits but didn't feel the value. I'm sure this has been a challenging time for them to have a new business and I have appreciated the kits I bought.

I'm sad to see that, too. I really enjoyed their kits but like others have said, didn't buy any recently with the change in style. They had one about a year ago that I'm still sad I missed out on. It was an amazing kit with the Echo Park lumberjack line and fun embellishments.

I’ve never bought a kit from them, but often buy the ala cart items. I also buy their cut files since I can’t cut my own. I hope they continue to sell that stuff.

I'm assuming there was a drop in sales. I wonder if the change in kit style was in response to the drop in sales or is the reason for the drop?
I missed the kits that were specifically themed- like a football one, school one, baby one, dinosaur one, etc. I've used them a lot. The embellishments are really fun.
The Christmas kits had me scratching my head, however. They seemed pretty girly for a kit club that advertised itself as being more boy related, or at least gender neutral.
I do buy the a la carte embellishments and die cuts. I love cute embellishments. I also don't own a Cricut (yet) so I used their die cuts to practice that style of scrapping.
I wish they added more a la carte items throughout the month. I always visited their page on the first but then didn't have any reason to visit it again throughout the month. If they released more embellishments throughout the month I would keep going back and buy more.
Ugh. I can't tell you how sad the whole thing makes me.

I’m guessing the change also has to do with supply chain issues.

I've never subscribed to a kit club (or bought a kit curated by a club, LSS, etc.), but was intrigued when this company debuted. After checking at midnight ET for the first few months to find all kits sold out, I stopped visiting the website, except when it was referenced here. I'm neither a themed scrapper nor like bulky embellishments, so I've never bought anything there. I feel badly for the subscribers, especially those who've supported the company from the beginning, but suspect supply chain issues, rising shipping costs, etc. contributed to their decision. I wonder whether $14.95 (+ shipping) page kits sold without a subscription option will be successful...

I enjoyed there kits and all the exclusive embellishments. I also loved that sometimes they brought some thing in for a kit that was something that had been around for a long time that was hard to find and then they had extras of it in the shop. I never subscribed but had good luck getting the kids that I wanted each month. While I enjoyed the page kits it is unlikely that I will purchase one kit for 14.95 a month when the shipping is 9.95. I wonder if that cost is something that they took into consideration.

Cocoa Daisy doesn't do 12x12 anymore- I just loved their style. I subbed to Cocoa Daisy for years, and also miss their 12x12 kits. They have done a few 12x12 full kits and paper kits in the past couple of months, using original paper designs. I picked up the Holiday 12x12 papers in their BF sale, and they are the great quality, thick papers I remember from the old days: Cocoa Daisy 12x12 Kits and Paper

I am not familiar with the kits you subscribed to, but have you checked out the Scrap Room? scrap-room.com/I'm not a subscriber, but have purchased kits in the past, and it seems to be a bit more ala cart. If you do the Flavors or the Double shot, they give you paper and embellishments that is enough for 2 pages, but if you have stash you can def stretch it more. They also have just an embellishment kit, pattern paper and cardstock. The prices are fair too as I've actually priced it out once when a kit was sold out and it was comparable to scrapbook.com prices. They post ideas and page kit sketches, but you are free to create what you want with the supplies. The kits also seem to have the latest collections which is nice.

So what did everyone think of their new releases?
The baby one and the Handsome ones weren't too bad but they just seem kind of expensive for what you get. I didn't care for the other two. I think it needs a few more papers. There wasn't as much new a la carte stuff as usual, too.
This is the first month I haven't bought anything from them. I did go back to take a second look at the Handsome kit but it was already sold out.
I did see on their Instagram that there are examples on how to use the product in ways other than the instructions that come with the kit.
I hope that they throw in a more boy-themed kit with their releases. I know it is NOT JUST for boys but they originally grabbed my attention by having lines that were more boy-centric.
This bothers me so much- I loved, loved, loved them when they first started. I am dying for a good kit club- there is hardly anything left except for HipKit. I'll still buy their stuff (hopefully there will be something I want next time) because I want to keep kit clubs in business but this month just wasn't doing for me.

I wasn't a fan of this month's kits. I really loved the theme kits and the early sub kits. I stopped my sub when the kits changed and I struggled to scrap with them. Plus finances. I can't afford to sub to a kit that I find I can barely use.
I've tried the October 2 page kit, but didn't feel it had enough value for the money. I'm disappointed in the changes, but some kits are sold out so hopefully it works for them.
