It's funny you mention this, as I bought these last night for the same thing- Meal Mugs from Corningware. They're on sale in a bunch of colors right now. $5 is a great price! Two of these on Amazon (in red) cost $37! How can i NOT buy them??? I may have bought 2 each in light blue, blue, and red… 😀 There also is a coupon code out there - CB2020 - for the Corningware site, which pretty much covered my shipping charges (20% off).

I have 4 each of the red and blue in my cart right now. I'm trying to think of who I might want to gift these to... perhaps filled with some lovely truffles or something... Do you think most people would enjoy getting one? I hate buying "stuff" that might get tossed or given away. At this price I'm thinking they might make a nice "gift wrap" for cash for the postal carrier, UPS guy, etc...

Thanks for the promo code! I may have used it to buy a dozen of the larger (24 oz) that are also only $5, usually $13. Only one color available but it's pretty and neutral, blush. The promo code gave me $12 off and shipping was only $5.99 so covered that and a freebie mug, in my mind. Probably going to use for favorite thing party or girls $5 gift swap game we play. Damn, if I think too much I'll go back for more. No, PLurker, no. Lol www.corningware.com/product/blush-24-ounce-meal-mugtm-white-lid

I freeze soup all of the time in plastic containers (ziplock screw top containers). I've never had an issue with the containers breaking, just some lids have cracked because the containers were too full...I'll blame DH for those... The screw tops are nice because they don't spill in lunch bags. Speaking from experience, they will shatter when you drop them on the tile floor. On the plus side, frozen soup doesn't splatter.

Thank you everyone. I had a few of the ziplock twist top containers so I picked up more. I made a large batch of chili and one of chicken tortilla soup. I now have about 15 servings in my freezer. I was looking for other recipes but got mixed ideas. One said rice soups are good to freeze another said they are not good to freeze. 😜. So maybe another thread of favorite freezeable soups.
Again, thank you.

Again, thank you. I love Italian wedding soup, and it freezes really well. I actually like it better after freezing because the greens soak in the soup flavor and don't taste as strong. Ric can get a little mushy in frozen rice soups, but I don't mind that.

In addition to my own purchase I bought a bunch for graduation gifts. I'm going to add two of these and a bunch of 'just add water' things for the dorm, like ramen, mug cookies, soups, etc.

I missed the sale. Just went to check out my online cart and the price is back up to $10 each. Still way less than on Amazon... I just didn't get my small gift list organized in time. I actually thought I had ordered the 8 of them and would figure it out when they arrived if not before. Oh well.
