lcomfy, I was also feeling this way, and your post really resonated with me! I thought it was timely that I got Victoria Marie's email news letter today and it addressed this very same feeling...I don't know how to link her actual newsletter (it comes as an email) but I added her main points below. I am not affiliated in any way, I just like the way she talks about this kind of thing and found it helpful, thought others who are not receiving the newsletter might like her ideas for low key crafty things. Enjoy!
The holidays are upon us and if you are like most folks, then you are probably enjoying (or tolerating, maybe hiding from) the hustle and bustle of the season! While I enjoy the busyness of the holidays, there are times when it becomes downright overwhelming.
And exhausting. And when I'm exhausted, tired, stressed, and burnt out, the last thing I want to do is hike upstairs to my craft studio to make something. Sitting on the couch, eating snacks and watching sappy Hallmark holiday movies is preferable when I'm in a mood and lack creative motivation...Let go of any self-imposed pressure to scrapbook when you don't have the creative bandwidth to do so. Your scrapbook projects aren't going anywhere!
Also, give yourself permission to let go of any holiday scrapbooking projects that seem overwhelming to you at this time.
Here were some ideas if you were feeling just a bit creative:
Ideas:
Make a small number of scrapbook page kits that you can use for future projects.
Catch up on scrapbook YouTube videos while enjoying your favorite beverage and snacks.
Organize a small area of your crafty space - journaling pens, a stack of stickers, a box of stamps, or a drawer of adhesives are all small organization tasks that can be done with little effort.
Document your holiday memories in a simple journal or small notebook for later reference.
Work on a small project - cards, tags, layered embellishments.
Look for creative inspiration in current or older copies of your favorite scrapbooking magazines and books.
Spend an afternoon pinning scrapbooking project ideas on Pinterest.
Zoom with a scrappy buddy and chat about scrapbooking ideas!
Participate in an easy scrapbook challenge.
Print and organize a batch of photos.
Box up a package of gently used scrapbook goodies to donate or give to a scrappy friend.
Engage in a bit of scrapbooking online retail therapy while enjoying a nice glass of wine! (My favorite activity!)
