I purchased PSE 2022 during Black Friday. Is there a site or class that is recommended for me? I have almost no experience with this type is software. Thanks!

I'm sure there are oodles of tutorials on You Tube. What are you going to use PSE for? I will try to point you in the right direction.
I am the kind of learner who has to be shown one-on-one how to do something. When I first got Photoshop eons ago, I had zero clue how to use it. My Aunty, who is a web designer and uses PS a lot, sat down with me and explained layers, and how to do the basics. Now that I know what it can do, I watch tutorials on You Tube if I need to learn a new skill.

I like the Dummies books. Ah yes, you just reminded me that I did in fact have Photoshop For Dummies. None of it made a lick of sense until I had someone show me the basics, but after that it was really helpful.

For me, I used a lot of YouTube videos and Ali Edwards blog posts on how to do different things. I also just google what I need to do in photoshop and I almost always find a tutorial on what I need. Another thing that helps me is just playing around with it and not saving my work unless I like the result. Please feel free to ask any questions here too because I will gladly help if I know how to do it.

Just be ready for a steep learning curve! Even though it is just "Elements" it is still a lot compared to other basic graphics programs. I'd say figure out a basic project you want to create and just work on leaning how to do it (see if you can find classes or tutorials for that type of project). Some things that I have worked on in case you need ideas of where to start: logos, apparel designs, photo editing, Christmas photo card, scrapbook page, tags, social media ads, printable, display signs, etc.

I think it's hard to learn the entire program and remember everything. I've been using it for years and even took college level photoshop classes, but still have google/youtube to remember things. I agree where some said just focus on what you want to do with it, whether it's editing photos, or digital scrapping, etc. Early on I took photoshop/digital classes with Jessica Sprague. Hers are more focused on the task. She uses photoshop but most things you would probably want to use it for Elements can do too. www.jessicasprague.com/courses

Elements is user friendly and great place to start. As others said focus on one area you want to learn. Also depending on how you learn best there are great resources. Books, YouTube and classes. Many of the classes I’ve taken for photoshop are photography specific, but in the end it comes down to learning what the tools are and can do. Then I google what I to do.

Shannan Matton has lots of tutorials on Vimeo and some on Ali Edwards blog. This is one about using layered templates. vimeo.com/423861941/descriptionShe has some free templates and elements to try out. www.shannanpages.com/?Collection=FreebieLayers are a fundamental thing to learn. Are you old enough to remember overhead projectors? Thinking about adding transparencies on top of each other helps. The top on the layers panel is why you see best. Then layers below can be covered over by things above them.
