as an appetizer, what do you serve it on? In the past I've used fresh French bread rounds but all I can find are toasted ones that are flavored. I could buy a baguette but I'd rather have them already cut to save time.

Sorry, we always run out and buy fresh baguette the day of gatherings when we're serving certain apps. Haven't found a good sub.

You can ask the bakery to slice the baguette for you behind the counter, they should have a bread slicer.

We like various crackers from Trader Joe's. I prefer brie on crackers rather then bread.

We prefer crackers or thin melba toast.

We like various crackers from Trader Joe's. I prefer brie on crackers rather then bread. I do too when it's just the brie. When added with the fig jam, my personal preference is the bread. When I first started serving the combination, I got the idea from a store that was giving samples to sell the fig jam and they used French bread rounds.

I would prefer it on a water cracker.

If you really want it on a baguette, I'd buy a fresh one and set somebody else in the house to slicing it while I was getting things ready. Even a guest.
That said, I love the TJ social crackers.

I'd prefer bread, too. The baguette sounds great.

Lots of grocery stores sell baguettes already sliced into crostini near the bakery area. Might check there. It's also good on a slice of green apple.
