My daughter and I will be going to the Magic Kingdom for two days this weekend for her birthday. I have reserved and purchased our tickets for those days and it is confirmed through the app. We visited previously this past June and had magic bands - will these magic bands be able to be used with our new reservations? Do we need to visit guest services first, before entering the park to have them linked?
Also, I purchased the photo pass too with my reservations. Do I need to do anything to have it linked to the magic bands?
Has anyone used the Genie yet? Do I need this in my life?
Thank you for any information you can give me. We used a Disney planner previously, so I feel like I am flying alone this time.

Haven't been there for a couple of years, but when I went back a year after my magic band was purchased, I was able to use it again. Can't remember if we had to link our tickets to them the second visit. I also remember the photos linking directly to our magic bands, but we needed to do something to link all the bands together so we could all see all the photos.
Not much help, am I? I called guest services before we left home to confirm what we had to do.

You can link them in the MyDisneyExperience app or on the website.
ETA: I was there last Friday and did not use the Genie so I can't really comment on it. I thought about paying for the Lightening Lane aka Fastpasses, but when I looked at it, the times were all late in day for MK and we were planning on hopping to Epcot. So I decided against it and just went with the flow of the day. We were at MK for about 3 hours before we hopped and rode Buzz, Snow White, and Barnstormer. We got there later than I wanted to start but traffic was a pain. I drive down from Jacksonville.

Do you have the MDE app on your phone? You can make sure your magic bands are linked with your tickets and reservations on there. Where the 3 lines are in the bottom corner, go under "My Profile" and then you will see the "Magic Bands and Cards" option.
We just got back a few days ago. We did use Genie+ and also purchased individual lightning lane for Remy, Flight of Passage and Rise of the Resistance. In Magic Kingdom, you can purchase the individual lightning lane for Seven Dwarves Mine Train and Space Mountain. The standby line for Space Mountain was never longer than 20 minutes when we were there but Magic Kingdom is sold out this weekend so it may be much higher. If you know you want to ride 7DMT, I'd recommend buying that one early in the morning on one of your days and keep an eye on the SM standby times to decide whether that's worth it. (My advice is different if you are going to Very Merriest After Hours either night as the line for 7DMT will be very short during the party so it's better to ride it then than pay for it.)
We definitely thought Genie+ was worth it. We rode everything (other than the kiddie rides) and never waited more than 10 minutes. We didn't need it for Splash Mountain or Space Mountain but I imagine those rides will have long queues this weekend as well. You really have to be strategic about it though. If you are staying on property, you can make your first selection at 7am. Reserve the earliest spot you can get. Although you are allowed to book a second ride 2 hours after the first, that rule doesn't kick in until 2 hours after official park opening so if MK opens at 9am this weekend, you can't book your second ride until 11:00. BUT if you are already through the gates and are on your first Genie+ ride at 9:20, you can book the next one as soon as you use your magic band to get on the ride. We were able to stack rides all day long this way. You reserve the Genie+ rides under "Tip Board" when you click on "My Day" and that's where it will tell you the return time AND the current standby wait for each ride.
Your photo pass will also be linked through MDE and your magic bands. Make sure bluetooth is turned on on your phone and don't use low battery mode. The photographers (or the sensors on each ride) will get the info from your magic band and the photos will pop right up in the MDE app. In our experience the photos from the rides took longer to show up + if anyone in the photo is not wearing a mask on the indoor rides, you will not get those photos. The lines for the photographers may seem long but they move quickly so take advantage of those! And finally, there is a limited amount of time after your trip (I think 30 or 60 days?) to download your photos so don't forget to do that. I ended up just saving each set directly to my phone when they showed up on the app. I also got an email from Disney yesterday with all of the photos so I can save them directly to my computer as well.

You need to make sure you have the MDE app on your phone. You can link your Magic Bands to your reservations in the app. This will also link your photo pass.
Prepare yourself that it will be crazy busy this weekend. In fact, MK is completely sold out Sat and Sun.
For Genie+, you should know that on site guests can make lightning lane reservations beginning at 7 am and for offsite guests, it’s 9am. So if you are offsite, it is possible all the LLs could be gone before you have an opportunity to access them (that’s 7 Dwarves Mine Train and Space Mountain). Genie+ is $15/per guest/per day and basically replaces the old fast past system. You can make one ride reservation at a time throughout the day. Lightning Lanes are an additional cost, if you can get them. You’ll do all of it in the app on your phone.
You’ll also use your phone for mobile ordering, which is widely used throughout the park. If you get hungry or thirsty, order before you’re desperate.
