Hey, Peas who hang out on the GS board. Some suggestions have come up for how to make SCRAPPY ORGANIZATION ideas easier to find; easier to pass over if not interested. I don't have the power to enact many of them, but if there is a strong enough support, we can ask admin to help us by setting something up for us.
Please provide your top two preferences. And if you have a minute, please drop a few comments here to explain your reasoning or come up with another solution not in the Poll...

Tagging people who responded to the more recent discussions on organization: angel97701, @thekatsmeow, FurryP, refugeepea, Ryann, lisacharlotte, Linda, mom, hmp, amp, vexedangel, scrappyrabbit, gramma, @zingermack, cmpeter, kmageOn option I didn't add to the poll, but which I could do, is set up a stickied thread with links to all of the organizational threads. Then you could go to the stickied thread, and click on any or all of the threads that interest you. Like the Master List of Challenges on the Challenges board. To make that happen, you would just need to tag me when you start a new thread or discover an older one on the topic, and I can add it to the list of links.

I like the mega thread (perhaps yearly like the declutter and organising thread on NSBR?)
I like the label idea - but I'm not quite sure HOW one labels threads
I don't care for a separate board - I don't think it would get the traffic of the GS board - people would go there specifically for organising but the rest of us won't stumble upon the thread and throw in our two cents worth
I'm fine with leaving as it is also.
I think the sticky master link is okay but not my prefered option

I am totally on board with the label like the "politics" on NSBR. None of the other options really appeal to me, and since I run the organization challenge I think it would be the best. A separate board probably wouldn't get much traffic like the GS board. The sticky master link is as far as I know, extra work for someone. So either a label method or leave it like it is now.

I don't think another board is the solution - the cardmaking board is so quiet and although I love photography I don't think I've looked at the photography board here more than twice. Only just found out there's a recipe board when I went to check that I wasn't imagining the photography board. I think many people are happy to comment on their organizing styles, fewer people are specifically excited about organizing.
Mega threads are hard to navigate if you don't keep up with them regularly but I like to keep up with the ones I enjoy. Not easy to find a specific idea that you saw last month though. Labels seem like a helpful way to find relevant threads - maybe a fairly low tech solution. Having a master thread with links might be a better solution than the mega thread for helping people dip in and out of various organizing discussions - low tech but a bit of extra work for you.

Please donโt make it sticky. I really dislike scrolling through half a page of pinned threads before getting to current topics. I think a label is a good idea if we need anything.

I think a label like the political one would suffice.
I don't want a separate board, because it would get forgotten or overlooked, and not have the same amount of traffic that gen sb does. (I almost never think to look at the stamp board, though i like stamping and would probably get a lot out of the board if i remembered to follow along).

I also voted for the label. I like that it would help us find more recent threads which might be more relevant as products or trends in organisation change.
I also agree that mega threads can be hard to reference, I know someone asked for a link to the DD files Ali is using this year and when I went looking for the same I had to review pages of posts to find the relevant information. I feel like being able to easily find the previously posted info is key to the organisation threads being most useful.

I'm OK with whatever choice is made. I don't find it difficult to just skip over things I'm not interested in, no matter where they are on the page.

Personally, I would prefer everything scrapbooking all on the same board.
I do prefer that each threads subject line, give an indication of what's inside. I don't care for vague subject lines, where one doesn't know the topic unless they open the thread.
I open and read, what I want to. The rest I scroll on by.

I think 'label' is my favorite choice.

I canโt vote as polls donโt show on the TapATalk app. Because I use that app (and I know tons of other peas do as well) I vote for a sticky with links to all the threads. Along with polls the labels donโt show on the app, either.

I vote leave as is. I mainly use my phone with the mobile version so I don't see the political tag on NSBR. But that would be the second easiest way to organize.

I PM'd admin about a label, but have not heard back. In the mean time, I don't mind combining links to the organizing threads--even older ones--into one sticky thread. It would replace the scraproom tour stickied thread that is there now, but I would include a link to the tour thread in the stickied one. Anyone who wants me to link a thread can simply tag me there. I won't change anything until someone does that.

All of this. Same! Is there a way to make a separate scrapbooking/crafting reference sub board where all the stickies could live? Then there could be 1 Reference sticky that has a link to that board (just for ease) and a description of what is there. I'd probably also keep the FSOT sticky here and just put the rules in the reference sticky. But 2 vs 10 stickies!

Without reading any other replies:
Definitely NO to a pinned thread - there are already too many pinned threads, they take up the WHOLE page on my MacBook!
NO to a separate board - it won't get the traffic.
I'm not sold on the label idea - why would we use a label for the Organisation thread and not others?
My vote is to leave it as is and I can find / skip over as I please, just as I do for all other threads.

Is there a way to hide or collapse the Sticky section so we don't have to scroll past it all the time?

Personally, I would prefer everything scrapbooking all on the same board. Me too. The other boards don't get much traffic (besides challenges) and I would prefer more topics on the GS board.

TA DA! admin has given us an organization label. In her words:Done " Obviously it is up to the board members how much they use it. Just like with the one on NSBR, anyone can add it to or remove it from any thread - it's either that or restrict its use to just a few people, nothing in between. One advantage is that people can always go back and add it to older threads too without having to bump them up." I have labeled this thread and am closing the poll. I will unsticky the scraproom tour thread and label it. Feel free to label any organizational threads: go to ACTIONS at top right, choose Labels, and click on Organization.
