2022 is fast approaching and with it, a new year with new ideas, new goals, new plans...
What are your papercraft plans for 2022? What projects are you hoping to do? Are there UFOs you're hoping to finish?
Maybe you want to organise your space? or bash some stash? Maybe you plan to be frozen (or refrigerated) for some or all of the year? Or maybe you're planning to celebrate a new year with new supplies?
What worked in 2021? What didn't? Are you looking to change things up or have you found your stride?
I'll be posting the January 2022 thread on New Year's Eve but thought it might be good to discuss the bigger picture in advance

Hmm…
I’m due for a big clean out and organization session. That’s coming in January. Included in this goal is sending photos off to Legacy box to get them put on a usb drive.
On the actual scrapbook side of things, I would like to get my 2020 Jamaica album done.
I will do my PL monthly, like always. I also think I still have 2014 PL to finish. It was the year my mom got sick and it’s important to me to go back and document all that. I have all the stuff set aside so I just need to do it.
I’m really in a ‘use it up’ mindset right now. So I really want to take advantage of that.

For me - I'm sticking with 8.5x11 mostly chronological family albums but I'm considering a monthly layout in a grid/PL style for fun, random photos that don't really have a story but I still want to include.
I do want to work on some of my older unfinished albums and I think I'm going to try working on January layouts (past and present) in January and February layouts (past and present) in February and so on and see if that helps me get some older photos scrapped and stories told.
My space is pretty organised but could use a little curating and certainly some stash busting so I'm planning to start the new year off in the freezer and see how much I can use up.
The on-going projects I'll be working on include the family album and DD15's Girl Scout album (I need to buy a new album for her high school Girl Scout adventures) as well as finishing up DD2021. Once I've finished up DS30's album through this month, I'm going to switch to doing a joint album for him and DD21 - they are going to be sharing a house and have plans for plenty of adventures - sightseeing, hiking, camping and more.
I also need to do more work on the family archives.

The (very tiny) silver lining of a worldwide pandemic is that there's not much going on during it & you also have extra time to scrap during it. Scrapping is what kept me from losing it with my working from home & the kids schooling from home so I'm 100% caught up through 2018 with large chunks of 2019 and 2020 complete. Copies of my photos are organized in a "To Be Scrapped" folder on my EHD with subfolders by theme/subject so I can quickly scroll through & see what I'd like to play with without accidentally making duplicate pages so 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 will all be scrapped eventually.
I don't scrap chronologically but my albums are chronological and since I'm digital, I wait for the quarterly-ish unlimited pages sales at Shutterfly before I print. Each year is usually 2 volumes at 100ish pages each.
I have our Florida mini-vacation album to finish and am debating on pulling together an album of all the pages I've made about my nephew since he will be graduating from HS in June. My mom has dozens of albums about him but they are paper & heavy & I'm not sure she's willing to give them up just yet so I thought a single digital album that would be very easy to take with him might be a good idea? We'll see. Surprisingly, I've really kept on top of my Countdown to Christmas album this year and have 10 days off work later this month so I might actually get it done before 2022. I'm also toying with the idea of doing a Week in the Life-esque photo project this spring now that we've settled into the new house & the new routine and before my boyfriend moves in later next year. I don't make a WITL album but I enjoy the photo-taking aspect of the project and use those photos to tell stories within the family album that I otherwise wouldn't think to tell.
I choose a word each year but don't create an OLW album. I've managed to talk my BF into doing #New52 with me next year as part of my 2022 OLW "exult" but I will be mostly documenting it via social media with maybe a few select/really important pages in the family album + a round-up of all 52 new things I tried at the end of the year.
Otherwise, I will just be continuing with what I usually do: Project Life from January - November, regular pages, and a 2022 Countdown to Christmas album.

What worked in 2021? Buying new supplies because I actually liked them. No, not picking from clearance. Just getting what fit the photos I wanted to scrap. I think there will be more of that. Also getting the matching embellishments. Love how it pulls it all together and takes the guess work out of it.
2022 will be the year that I pull together a small diecutting station.. Even if I barely use it, I want a dedicated space to put my ZipeMate on top of, and my dies & mats in a drawer. I'm thinking of thrifting a small bedside or end table for it.
I would like to catch up a bit in 2022. 2021 has gotten away from me.

We’ll after much thought I cancelled all ofmycocoa daisy subs which was a lot. My goal is to use what I have and print off papers for traveler notebooks all yearn I even bought a5 paper and printed planner pages. I’m going to keep my planner minimal this year.
I’m completely overwhelmed with stuff and pictures. My husband and I have had some issues and that took so much of my joy away from scrapping. I mainly do it to remember good times and lately there’s just nothing I care to remember. My daughter has cut me off again and I have a closet full of gifts my grandson won’t get. I’m basically keeping my head above the water line for my 17 yo son. I’ve been doing my daily advent page on my December album and I have 3 christmases worth of stamps to use! So I think I can manage with what I have in my stash.

2022 plans - keep trying to do PL weekly, but my plan of action for this is the print photos every Monday instead of whenever the spirit moves me to do that. I'm hoping having a schedule will at least get me to get the photos off my phone and into an album, hopefully scrapping them too. I'm taking the Project Done class with Victoria Marie Designs so I'm hoping to catch up on years past and maybe finish some of the travel albums I've started but never finished. What worked for 2021 - having my daughter in school instead school from home helped me get more crafting done and also making a more conscious effort to create once a week. Hosting a day a week during Sketchtember really helped as well, I got an old album done and kept me accountable to create as well.

For 2022, I plan to continue on with my PL monthly spreads plus adding in any layouts with special photos from the month. I have tons of stash, but I have tried being a frozen pea before and failed miserably, so I have set a goal of using/getting rid of two sheets of paper for every piece that I buy. Along this line, I also have a goal of trying to make my own kits to mimic paper lines that I want, or just buying the most "must have" pieces and then pulling from my stash to fill in gaps. I want to break away from only using collections in an effort to get some old stash into the rotation. Before the end of this year I have a few days off work, so I really want to make an effort to get my scrap space set up. This involves moving a desk upstairs into a corner of our loft and creating a bit of a space for myself. I have a huge trip from 2016 that I am working on documenting. It is a project I am truly enjoying working on, so it isn't so much pressure to "get it done", but I would like to get it organized and my journaling all printed. Initially I was scrapping it chronologically, but now I have just been doing random layouts so it definitely needs a reset and some planning to fill in gaps. ETA: Hugs to you julie5...I went through a rough patch this year and know how it can take the joy from scrapping. I hope that there are brighter times ahead for you.

I recently worked through the free portion of Jennifer Wilson's Plan Your Year. It actually did help me sort out what I wanted to accomplish next year and plan out when I wanted to work on each piece. First I narrowed down and prioritized the things that were most important to me to work on through the year.
1. Make and mail more holiday/birthday cards to the grandkids and other family members. 2. Work on completing the months for my shadowbox. (I have a magnetic shadowbox from Foundations Decor that I recently purchased. I've completed the pieces for October and November, but need to get the rest done over the course of the year.) 3. Do a Christmas flipbook for December 2021. 4. Complete my PL December 2020 so that year is as done as it's going to get. (That was the year that I realized it was okay to skip a couple of months!) 5. Work on 2022 monthly PL 6. Work on a Disney flipbook. (I was introduced to Simple Stories flipbooks at the holiday Crop and Create. I'm in love!)
Sounds like a lot when I look at it, but I actually made a plan to get it spaced out over the year and it looks manageable that way.

as far as projects, i need to work with a bit more urgency and not at the super casual pace i am currently at.

I saw this on another board and immediately thought of my favorite Procrastinator msliz. "My 2022 New Years resolution, is to finish all my craft projects from 2021, that I should have done in 2020, after I started them in 2019, after buying the supplies in 2018." Actually I think more than a few of us could relate.

What worked this year? Doing my albums PL style. I’ve kept fairly updated to date and chronological. I feel like I can actually finish this year by the end of jan of 2022.
What is like to do for next year is focus on story telling. Although I had a ton of pics that I wouldn’t have normally scrapped I wasn’t great at details.
Also a focus on photography and using it for storytelling.

For 2022 I really want to embrace being frozen. I've done a lot of shopping throughout the pandemic and I need to do better at using what I have instead of being distracted by all the shiny new things!
I've been putting away stuff that was pulled together for craft shows (all done for 2021!) and in doing so I'm re-organizing in an effort to set myself up for success in the new year.
I put together a container that includes any half-finished projects (*cough* SCT Crop & Create classes *cough*) and products I have set aside for specific photos. I pulled out my label maker and gave it a "Projects in Progress" label. I think that will help me stay focused and hopefully finish some things before the next round of Crop & Create online events roll out in the spring. Eep!
I would like to concentrate on stash busting in 2022. I have too much if I'm honest with myself. Too, too much! We've got a big move coming up in 2023 and I know it will be easier if I'm able to pare down some.
The second half of 2021 I did very little scrapbooking, so I would like to pick that back up in 2022 as I'm really missing it. I also acquired an embarrassing number of Simple Stories flip books on clearance so I want to start working my way though those as they are fairly quick and fun to make.

In 2022 I have to be realistic. I am not going to get my scrap room organized. I am not going to complete any project.
So this is what my plans are: At least monthly crops, hopefully more. I have 2 winter retreats and 2 fall retreats and hopefully two conventions.
Here is my goal for 2022: I have a new granddaughter coming in February. I would love to keep up with her first year scrapbook. Her sister's first year book was completed but after that things sort of fell off. I have about half of her last 2 years scrapped. Not bad really considering the number of photos I have taken.
IF, and it is a big IF, I actually do work on a project, I would like to get my heritage albums updated. At one point they were finished and then I inherited a bunch of old family photos.
Someday before I die I want to finish the photos of my own life, but that won't happen in 2022.

We plan to move in 2022 and I'll have a dedicated space. I want to organize all my Iris cases better in the new space. Right now I have them in 2 different areas of the house.
I want to purge the old bits of stuff I haven't used in years. I may get a start on that after the holidays.

I would love to complete the kids school albums and move back to our family scrapbooks. For some reason I have this huge mental block that keeps me from just finishing those darn albums. I'd also like to take some ME TIME and attend a couple weekend crops.

I would like to head into the freezer, or at the very least the fridge, for everything except essentials. I would like to focus on my stash and finish 2021. I have lots and lots of photos left.

I want to finish some sort of school album since my kiddo graduates HS in May. I’d also like to frost (not full on freeze) and use more of my stash. I’m planning to freeze for January, and then go from there. I also plan to finish my 2021 JYC/DD album.

I built up my stash in 2020/2021 in a way that I'm really happy with. That's one thing that really worked for me. I've been scrapping regularly, too, during the pandemic. A couple of goals for 2022 are to get caught up on my 2020 pictures and finish up my Disney album. I planned the album ahead and knew it was going to be my biggest Disney album yet. I bought all my supplies, mostly EP Disney themed collections, and then hated all the embellishments when I got them which kind of stalled my progress. They're all quite busy to me and kind of thin and cheap feeling. This album is really driving me crazy and has been for months now. I've got all the papers and pictures adhered. I've got all but 7 titles done. When I get those titles done I'm going to cut embellishments on my Cameo to have some less busy supplies to work with. So...finish the titles, cut embellishments, embellish the layouts, and add journaling. I want it done. I look forward to the time when I won't complain about this album to you all anymore. After that I'd like to work on some layouts for another vacation album. It surely won't be as big as the Disney album. I have a collection picked out and it sound a heck of a lot more fun than the Disney album. Lastly, I want to have more scrappy days! I need more scheduled scrappy time.

What are your papercraft plans for 2022? What projects are you hoping to do? Are there UFOs you're hoping to finish? After reading the scrapbook organization thread, I came to the conclusion, I need to focus on one project at a time. I've been very scatterbrained. Forgetting what photos I need to order, ordering the same ones twice, forgetting the dates of the photos... I want to work on my Family Album, holiday albums, have a few more cards on hand, and work more on mini albums (just for fun and just for me). Maybe you want to organise your space? or bash some stash? Maybe you plan to be frozen (or refrigerated) for some or all of the year? Or maybe you're planning to celebrate a new year with new supplies? I know where to find most of my supplies quickly. Like items are in the same area. While, I'd like to streamline it a bit better, it's not important.
Definitely need to bash some stash. I do need to have more photos and adhesives on hand though. I'm not going to be frozen. I don't feel like I overspend. I'm careful about what I buy. As silly as it sounds, I need to have something to look forward to and rewarding myself with scrap supplies makes me happy.
What worked in 2021? What didn't? Are you looking to change things up or have you found your stride? Absolutely nothing has worked for me in 2021. I plan to have a couple of empty Iris Cases. I'll put products in there I want to use for pages, but only do one or two pages at a time.

I added quite a bit to my stash the past two years, and I'm happy with where it is now. I hesitate to say I will be frozen, but I do want to limit the amount I'm bringing in for 2022 and do more using what I have.
I have several UFO's I would like to move off my list. School books for my adult kids, and my 2020 album for starters. I would also like to stay more current in 2022 than I have in the past. Hard to do since I'm such a slow scrapper, but I would like to try lol. I also want to finish some of the classes I bought. I like the idea of X number of layouts before I buy again, so if there is a thread this year I will really commit to that.

I'm really excited for my scrapping plans in 2022. I'm going to do a PL type album again for next year, but while I've been cleaning up and organising I found my barely started, no longer inspiring, photo a day project from 2010. I've got a bunch of journaling already written so I'm planning to get it out of the box into albums using a mix of full and pocket pages.
I've also got a vacation from 2011 that I plan to scrap, and I realised I haven't properly scrapped a vacation I took in 2007 which I've added to my to do list.
Next year needs to be a mostly frozen year to really make a dent in my stash. I've added a lot of paper especially in the last couple of months, so I'll be working on getting that to fit back into it's storage space, and I'd like to make a dent in most areas of my stash. If we repeat the 50 layouts before shopping thread again next year I'll definitely be signing up.

What are your papercraft plans for 2022? What projects are you hoping to do? Just carve out some more scrapbooking time. Seems like everytime I make a plan, some "VERY important issue" comes up with DH or the family that I have to go rushing off to. The online crops are great, but DH and DS don't seem to see it as me being "gone." I am still here, therefore still accessible. It's challenging. They say they understand, but when push comes to shove, it seems like I get interrupted a lot. Although, one time my DH called the scrapbook store (pre cell phone) to see if I would be home from the crop in time to make dinner. Ummmm, no. I won't. Maybe you want to organise your space? or bash some stash? Maybe you plan to be frozen (or refrigerated) for some or all of the year? Or maybe you're planning to celebrate a new year with new supplies? I am getting some supplies for Christmas, not exactly sure what, but there is stuff coming. So a reorg is on the docket. I probably won't buy much in 2022, unless that darn VB comes out with another must have collection. What worked in 2021? What didn't? Are you looking to change things up or have you found your stride? About 4 months ago, I started printing photos monthly. I didn't fuss with them much, just went through and printed all the pics I took in October that I wanted to scrap, then kept them in their envelope marked October 2021. I really liked this. Before, I would go through so many pictures, what did I want to scrap, etc before I printed them. I also reorganized my paper, and I love how I can find things now. My stamps are still a hot mess, and I don't like how my space is set up.

ETA: Thinking about the second half of 2022, my kiddo will be off to college and I’ll be needing to keep occupied, with no excuses of distractions or interruptions. So, for the last third of the year, I plan to work on UFOs (class projects, make n takes, LO samples, kits, etc, where the pages are assembled awaiting photos and journaling, or where one page is finished but I need to complete the companion page) and I’d like to dig in to my AE Story kits and start working through those. I think the Story kit crush videos will help that effort. I’m planning to focus each month on a specified item in my stash to also help stash bust a little.
