Also, I'm a subscriber since about mid-year 2021 to Ali's story kit. I haven't even tried scrapbooking with these kits. I've only done one page really. I am going to try to focus more on story telling. I have a special album just for that. Can you tell me more about what comes with the kits in terms of content? I looked through past kits (and have even bought some when they were on sale). It seems like if you subscribe, you can't skip two months in a row so I'm not going to subscribe but I like the products and would like to do a mini deep dive into a theme like that. I don't do enough to subscribe. Do they give you ideas for what to do with the product? I've never paid attention and it's not clear on her site. I like the idea of keeping an album that I work on through the year doing random projects that take a closer look at what's going on in our lives. The great part of subscribing to SK (even month to month one-offs) ads the classes that come with it. If you’re having trouble scrapping the kits, maybe grabbing one of the coordinating classes the next time she offers them (usually every few months). I think they run $10.

They come with pocket cards and embellishments. I have a 6x8 album just for these. She centers around a word, but it does seem like she does a pretty comprehensive take on the word, looking at it from multiple angles. There's a question card in the kit which is to get you thinking about the theme. And she does a video each month talking about the kit. They look pretty good, but of course, I haven't really dug into them. I plan to do that this year.

In addition to what’s already been listed, I didn’t see anyone mention AE’s Pieces of Me and Pieces of Home. Oh yes! I forgot this one. I love it.

I did the 100 Day Project twice this year. I do it a little different - my friend and I spent a minimum of 15 min each day in our studios. We could do anything in that time (or longer if it took longer) - make a card, scrapbook or plan a layout, organize, clean, etc. Just need to spend 15 min. For me it was usually 30-45 min every day in my studio. We did this in Jan-May with the official one and then we redid it on our own Oct-Dec.
The first time, I made 249 cards, 3 canvases and a few other things. The second time, I make about 130 cards, 1 notebook cover and 1 canvas.

I spent a lot of time on the blog looking at everything with this hashtag and I think this may just be what I'm looking for. I love the concept and how low-commitment it is. I am curious to see if she'll do it again this year. I like when people are doing things at the same time because of the sense of community. I'm definitely weighing the pros and cons of subbing to the story kits too.

I'm definitely weighing the pros and cons of subbing to the story kits too. She did Pieces of Me last year, and repeated it this year, adding Pieces of Homes in the fall. I would guess she’d do it again because of the great reception (and opportunity to offer product). For the Story Kits, she has offered the first class free now (“Firsts”) to be able to try it out and see if you like it. She includes the digitals with this freebie too. aliedwards.com/shop/classes/firsts-free-trial-classroom

For the Story Kits, she has offered the first class free now Thank you! I have downloaded this and plan to check it out more thoroughly after Christmas. I don't really care for the kit that will be shipped next so I think I will wait to start a subscription.

I have always wanted to do a book ( well 2 one for each kid ) of family traditions. Focus each months project on what traditions/activities/recipes we always do for that season of year. I mean each month as this months part of the project not that traditions have a specific month. More like seasons. I want all my family recipes to be in the book. All the kinds of things that we did almost every year.
Not sure I can pull that off whilst moving but I’ve wanted to do it for so long I think I want to try. I can at least make a list/journal of the traditions/recipes/activities I want to include & make notes & take pictures. So that once I’m settled I have stuff to work with

I've decided for 2022, I want to do more paper crafting not related to documenting. What I like about this is I don't feel bad about starting and stopping. I like to be somewhat caught up in my family album. By caught up, if I'm less than five years behind, I'm feeling very good about that!
Some ideas Quote albums; funny, nature, inspiring, Christmas
Favorite books; I have paper from Graphic 45 for Little Women Books Read Tag Mini album; I have started on this Mini albums to go with holiday decorations All about me album (okay that's documenting, but I don't do that often) Tea Album, keeping track of what I like Around the town album ABC albums, ABC's of whatever subject might be fun Favorite movies and television shows

I'm a very basic b*tch in terms of scrapbooking projects. Project Life, some kind of December project and I'm good. That's my yearly basis to which I add depending on my mood and time/energy available. This year, I plan on documenting one extra focus per month. I haven't figured all 12 themes out just yet but I do have some locked in already: cost of life in 2022 (groceries, utilities, transportation), city life (neighbourhood, go-to stores, markets, public transportation), home (functions vs spaces/nooks, changes since the start of the pandemic), self-care (everyday habits, sport, beauty), fashion/style (wardrobe inventory, personal style, go-to scents, inspiration), 5-year plan (realistic aspirations). I'll figure out the rest as the year unfolds.

I checked out the link and this seems doable to me. I put it on my list of possibilities. I'm a very basic b*tch in terms of scrapbooking projects. I'll figure out the rest as the year unfolds. I like this. I usually try to include prices in my DD but I forgot this year. I'll try to remember for next year. But these themes are a great idea. I don't think I can do project life. I've been looking at the AE story kits and I think I'm going to start with month to month and see how I like it. There are so many options now thanks to this thread. People have given me some great ideas.

blemon 2022 will be a wonderful year to branch out with your documenting (I say, filled with hope we're going the endemic route soon)! So glad you started this thread and got inspired. I'm sure you'll get even more responses and ideas on what to try out next. PL can be very impressive and scary but many of us have a simplified monthly approach these days. I can fit 2 years of PL into one single SC/AE 6x8 album so really, it's nowhere near as big a project as the old-timey 52-weeks BH project used to be. If you're ever curious whether you could be tempted by it, don't hesitate to drop in and check out the 2022 PL thread and see how simple (or elaborate) modern-day PL can be. Simplified PL is one of my favourite projects ever. Can't imagine not doing it.

I do PL and still really enjoy it.
I also make birthday cards for everyone in my family - that's about 40 cards if you count both sides. I'll continue to do that.
I'm thinking of adding Art Journalling because I want to get a bit messy this year.
I love the idea of the 52 favourites, I may add that, I really like the TN projects that I see on Insta.
Lots of good ideas.

Lots of good ideas. Yes, there's so much out there. I used to do art dolls and ATC swaps but I swear it's been like 20 years. I bought stuff to do postage stamps but never made them. I might just bring out some of that and play around. The idea of a TN is also very appealing. I used to keep a journal. It wasn't just writing, I would clip newspapers and all kinds of stuff and just stick in in there. When it got full, I'd buy another and start again. I might play around with that. My favorites are when I would take an old book and cover the pages. So many options. sleepingbooty I'm definitely going to check out the PL thread. I just bought a small linen album for $5 at the AE end of year sale and that would be perfect for something like that. Instead of documenting everything, I could just pick and choose. I feel like I forget so much.
