My favorite threads on here are the ones that show new releases. I noticed that I really liked some of the Echo Park/Carte Bella lines and had no interest in the Photoplay lines, which is pretty typical for me.
What brands are usually hits for you, and what brands are usually misses?
I love Vicki Boutin- she is almost always a hit. I tend to buy two of every paper because they are so beautiful I can't stand to run out of it. Her embellishments are usually really nice, too. I usually like Simple Stories Vintage but the last few releases didn't grab me. I have a ton of the older lines though. So pretty.
I almost never like Doodlebug paper (way too cutesy and busy) but I love the embellishments, especially the enamel, gems, and washi. Graphic 45 is almost always a miss, except when they do animal or Alice in Wonderland. I can't resist Alice.
What brands do you gravitate towards? What brands almost never appeal to you?

Okay, I’m going to need to hunt down this Alice stuff! My daughter is in a theatre production of Alice coming up!
I usually find quite a bit of Pinkfresh I like. I love their chipboard and stickers and other ephemera.

I love Kaisercraft. But I wish their paper was heavier weight. Prima almost always gets me, but I do skip the more floral offerings. Vicki B, pretty much everything she does is amazing. Some EP, no Doodlebug ever. PinkPaislee used to have some good stuff, and old MME.

I’d say Simple Stories has always been my favorite. I also like Carta Bella and Pinkfresh.

I like Pinkfresh a lot, especially as they've moved away from the more geometric heavy collections to more organic patterns. Their paper is so thick and a lovely, bright white. I also really like the Simple Stories collections that have a Crate Paper vibe to them. I miss Crate Paper. Photoplay, EP & CB, Doodlebug and Bella Blvd are always hit and miss for me. I usually like 1-2 collections per year from each of them. I really like Vicki Boutin and Paige Evans - I appreciate the bold colors in their collections. I loved the Maggie Holmes collections from 2020/2021, but I'm not at all into the newest collection, so maybe my Maggie Holmes love has faded already. I've liked a few Prima collections recently, which is very surprising to me as that's not typically what I gravitate towards. I absolutely loved Golden Desert and Thirty-One. Cocoa Vanilla is another favorite. I wish it were easier to find in the US. I miss Shimelle and Pebbles Christmas collections.

Echo Park/Carta Bella are the ones I buy the most - I really like Reminisce as well. I like the Photoplay collections but they tend to be a little too juvenile for my scrapbooking so I don't buy too many. I used to love Doodlebug but haven't bought any in years.

Simple Stories, Doodlebug, Echo Park, Bella Blvd. are my favorites.
Still scrapbooking my daughter's younger years plus I have lots of pictures of my little nieces and nephews so I am into cute.
Don't buy much Graphic 45, doesn't seem to be my aesthetic but I can see how it would appeal to others.

I find a lot of the B sides of Echo Park to be versatile. Or really any line, I look at the B sides first. I tend to scrap smaller sizes; 8.5x11 and 12x12 pocket page protectors. I prefer muted basic primary colors, more masculine type colors. I prefer boy, masculine, or outdoor types of lines. I struggle with bold, big, floral, and feminine.
Overall, I'm not picky though. I tend to buy based on what theme or color I'm lacking and where I can get a good deal. I like looking at the newest releases, but I rarely buy them unless they are very unique. I don't often buy an entire collection unless I am at a warehouse sale.
Most of my stash consists of SEI and Echo Park because I've got my best deals there. SEI has long since stopped selling scrapbook supplies too. After over 20 years of scrapping, I know what I am more likely to use, so it's not just for the sake of getting a great deal but not using those items.

What brands do you gravitate towards? A simple, clean, & linear scrapper, I prefer Bazzill for cardstock plus Echo Park, Simple Stories, Photoplay, & Bella Blvd for classic patterned papers (e.g. dots, stripes, plaids) What brands almost never appeal to you? All others, especially vintage, distressed, floral, busy, &/or cutesy paper collections Okay, I’m going to need to hunt down this Alice stuff! My daughter is in a theatre production of Alice coming up... Check out Echo Park Alice in Wonderland No. 2

I miss Shimelle… Everything else I buy only if I need it. I know brands but I really don’t look anymore for specifics. Everything has gotten so repetitive.

I find myself doing more stamping and die cutting these days so I'm liking brands like Lawn Fawn, Gina K, and Hero Arts.
Over the years I've found the brand I like most consistently is Echo Park. I used to love Doodlebug and then got past my cutsey phase, but now that I'm making cards I'm back to Doodlebug again. I also like some of Photoplay, but I can live without the gnomes. I am finding that I'm doing much less of buying full collections and now just buying pieces that I can really use.
I used to buy everything Simple Stories and Graphic 45, but both of those have lost their appeal over the past couple of years. I do still love and purchase Simple Stories albums and flipbooks.

Obviously people like it though. I'm a fan of the original John Tenniel drawings. Stamperia uses Tenniel's drawings and Graphic 45 uses a combination of Tenniel and another artist's work. Graphic 45 had a Halloween line way back (maybe 5-10 years ago?) that used the Tenniel drawings. I like a lot of the Alice illustrators (especially Arthur Rackham's) but I think Tenniel's are the only ones in the public domain. I love Alice. My bedroom is done in an Alice in Wonderland theme. Not the Disney one- an adult version of Alice- Lots of tea cups and teapots, mirrors, clocks, white rabbits, etc.

I gravitate towards Echo Park, Simple Stories, and verrrry occasionally Doodlebug, and sometimes Carta Bella and Photoplay. I also have and love some great DCWV, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels branded pads (mostly Christmas).
In years past, I loved My Minds Eye, Pink Paislee, Daisy Ds (that was the name, right?), and Imaginesence (sp).
While I admire the designs, companies that are usually not my style are Prima, Grphic45, Authentique, and back in the day Cosmo Cricket.
I do so miss the heydey of stores and companies!!

I've had a long love affair with Cocoa Vanilla, her style fits mine pretty well and I often buy multiples. I store all my paper randomly, but all my Cocoa Vanilla is together, and I'll admit some of it is too precious to use.
I also really like Felicity Jane. Some of her florals are a bit much, even for me, but her b-sides and more neutral patterns are usually amazing. I so wish her international shipping was cheaper although my wallet is probably grateful it's not.
Other than that, I tend to buy what appeals to me. Pinkfresh does a bit that I like, especially when it's on a white base, and as someone else mentioned, their paper weight is just beautiful. I pick up pieces from SS, EP, 49 and Market (another company with fabulous paper weight), CB, and AC when it appeals to me. I rarely buy full collections and often look for those more muted b-sides. Doodlebug is usually way too cutesy for my style, and Photoplay is usually just not my thing. I hardly ever buy Kaisercraft despite it being the brand I have the best access to as I often find their papers lack vibrancy, although I will pick up some of their neutrals or the occasional paper packs in their sales. I do love their cardstock though.
Whether I like a brand or not never stops me from checking out the new release threads though, I love seeing what's coming even if I know I won't buy any of it.

artbabe You've started some great threads recently. Thank you! Like you, I love the enamel shapes or "sprinkles" from Doodlebug. I love Felicity Jane, Carta Bella, and Bella Boulevard.

The first year or so of Pinkfresh I just did not get their style at all. It seemed really cold and unappealing. Somewhere along the line they either changed their style or I came around. I absolutely loved their office line and their school line.
I like 49 and Market. I take a lot of forest and flower photos and it works nice for them. It also makes really nice vintage pages. I love the layering diecuts. Most of them are very neutral so they work on any layout.
I don't have a particular style of paper I like. I can use Pinkfresh, or Vicki Boutin, or Simple Stories Vintage, or even an occasional Doodlebug. My scrapping is all over the place.
I know American Crafts is not a favorite for people, but I really miss Shimelle and the crazy Amy Tangerine stuff.

I have always liked Echo Park and Carta Bella. Doodlebug appeals to me from a card making perspective. My LSS just restocked with a crap load of Mintay and 49 and Market collections. They are very pretty, but a bit too pastel and frilly for me. I can appreciate Graphic 45, but I cannot work with those papers. I have G45 Alice paper that I bought at Archiver’s and have no real use for it other than admiring its beauty. I did make an anniversary card using the Tinman paper.
I bought Cocoa Vanilla’s Legendary collection to scrap my dog. I wish we had more options to get CV in the US. I’m also using Shimelle’s Sparkle City for my dogs. I bought a ton of it.

Hard to choose. Depends on what I am doing.
I am a theme scrapper, and gravitate to companies that produce themed lines I can use. Lately I have purchased alot of Simple Stories: Family Fun, Howdy, Vintage Farmhouse.
I also like papers that are versatile and can move between seasons and stories. Vicki Boutin, Kaisercraft, Cocoa Vanilla and others.
For kids' pages I like the bright colours of Echo Park and Carta Bella and PhotoPlay.
Doodlebug is fun for cards.
I like Bazzill cs for weight and texture, and Recollections cs for diecutting.

I love that Legendary line. I bought the whole line, made a bunch of boy pages with it and then went back and bought the whole line again. The also released a boy line before that- Boys Rule. It mixes really well with the Legendary one. A Cherry on Top carries Cocoa Vanilla now. Before that I bought it from the company directly. I bought some in March 2020, right before covid hit hard, and it took over a month to get to me because the supply chains were so messed up. The box was so beaten up but fortunately the stuff inside was okay. I can see how that would be a good paper for dogs. I've expressed my displeasure before about how limited the themed dog lines are. I've also scrapped quite a few pages with Sparkle City. I used to go to the mall with my nephews all of the time and that fast food paper was so perfect for that.

My favorite brands are Simple Stories, Vicki Boutin, Cocoa Vanilla and Pink Fresh Studios. Echo Park and Carta Bella is hit or miss. I like Doodlebug and Bella Blvd but it's a little too cutesy for me to use. I am not into Graphic 45 and vintage motifs. I can't stand Photoplay.
