as i sit here on the couch by myself on christmas day at dinner time, nope, it doesn't. i had my kids overnight til noon. it was nice and festive and when they left at noon i thought it was fine. but it actually sucks.
this too shall pass, they come back monday for the week. my guy's (bf? not sure how to refer to him?) DD has covid and my DD is leaving for exchange in spain mid january so can't take the risk to see him til she gets on that damn plane.
