DH bought me a beautiful Le Creuset round casserole - 8L/30cm - in Cerise. I had mentioned I'd like some LC cookware a few weeks back, but it was still a shock he actually bought it! I am planning my first meal that I will cook in it - it is relly big for just the two of us, but I am thinking pot roast or similar. My sons bought us a gift certificate for a Wine Blending Experience at one of our favourite Australian wineries. Clever thinking on their part - we will have to visit them to be able to use it! It's valid for 2 years, and we are planning a trip back to welcome Grandbaby #2 next year anyway.
For giving - DH went to Paris Disney on a recent trip, and bought nearly 3 YO DGD a 'queen Anna' costume (Frozen), along with an Olaf stuffie and they packed it in a Disney princess shopping bag. What was her favourite part of the present? You guessed - the shopping bag, which, last we saw early Christmas morning on FaceTime, was being filled with all her stuffies!

DH commissioned a sketch of our cottage here in Belgium. We had gone to a Christmas market in November and I guy there was selling all kinds of prints from sketches that he had done of historical/tourist sights in Europe. Evidently DH picked up a card and then contacted him. So both DH and the artist worked fast!
Then I teased DH that we needed to have our other 15 houses done and he just said, “No!” It would probably be a bit much.

Back in the summer my sister-in-law was planning out a big blanket for my brother that uses old T-shirts. So she was short a couple and asked my mom for some of my dads and two of them were Buffalo Bills T-shirts and I think there were three or four that were Boston Red Sox. The blanket is beautiful and he loves it. I knew she was taking some of the extra T-shirts and making them into pillows one for her two daughters and one son. They are gorgeous. And then I felt bad for myself because I should’ve taken one of my dad‘s and had the same thing done. She’s surprised he with my own pillow of one my dad‘s aT-shirts.
The other win was a big planter that was painted by my two great nephews and has my new great niece’s footprints. They did one for my mom too! They are priceless

My dh surprised me with my very own snorkel set- mask, tube, swim socks, fins, and a really nice snorklers backpack for all of it. We are going to Hawaii soon, and snorkeling is my favorite thing to do. He doesn’t usually snorkel with me so the BIGGEST surprise was after I opened my whole set, he showed me that he bought himself a set too! To go with me! That made my whole day.

Everything was a hit around here -- an excellent group effort. DS gave me a set of dishes from WS that have bees and honeycombs on them. I love bees, so that was a really thoughtful gift. It will look lovely in my new kitchen. DH gave me a Bose noise-cancelling headset for the plane. I'm freaking excited about that one -- we have lots of trips planned this year.

I am a Lady. DH purchased a plot of Scotland land to make me a Lady. (Among other amazing gifts.) LOL. It's awesome. Maybe I would have preferred an upgrade on my engagement diamond. No worries. He continues to be lovey and surprise. So, do we tag you as Lady Gorgeouskid now? 😂. What an awesome present!

My 21 month old got a play kitchen with some play food…and the fridge has a fake ice dispenser! Anyway, she is obsessed with this thing and even wears an apron and chef’s hat with it. My grandchildren played with our DD's old kitchen set for years and years. When they got a little older they played restaurant, which morphed into "bad waiter/waitress" in a hysterical way. Think them yelling at us "You get what you get"! Enjoy your little one. That is one of the best ages.

I was so surprised that my 12 yo was more into the new Disney monorail then the halo infinity x box. He loves the x box, but spent over an hour setting up the monorail under the tree and hanging out with it before he dove into the video gaming. ❤️💚
It was a really nice holiday all around and my daughter’s boyfriend surprised me with a Star Wars Loungefly I didn’t even existed and my oldest gave me a Gryffindor wand holder for my Hermione Granger wand, so my inner fan girl is swooning lol.

Everyone seemed super happy with everything given and gotten! I had gifted my mom Storyworth a few Mother’s Days ago and extended it because she loved it so much, so my sibling has been helping her edit it and add pictures and so my mom gifted both of us Volume One of her book. It is so wonderful, my sibling not only added family photos but photos of places mentioned (long gone) and other cool photos that pertain to her stories. It was my very favorite gift! My sibling also got me a beautiful book about the films of Walt Disney that I love, lots of beautiful pictures, conceptual art, etc. it covers all the films that Walt himself was involved in. My cousin got me an awesome Starbucks mug with Jack Skellington as the logo, it is beautiful. My husband surprised me with an adorable Cheshire Cat Loungefly purse with fluffy tail and it is so cute! Prior to finding loungefly I carried boring brown satchel type purses, but now I love having a few purses to swap around and this is a super fun one I have never seen. He was quite proud of himself for finding something I didn’t know about, so that was extra sweet. As for my gives, my cousin loved her Buffy the Vampire Slayer planner, my nephew loved his Office gift pack, my sibling loved the Haunted Mansion tiki glasses, my husband is happily building his Hogsmeade Lego set and my mom loved her Mixtiles! Maybe best of all is the cats like their new cat bed. I had mistakenly made them a “cave” several months ago on one end of the couch (using a pillow and extra throw) and there was never a moment a cat was not in the cave. Being a crazy cat lady, I just let them have it and my husband and I have just been sitting on the other half of the couch which was just ridiculous. It just made our senior boy so happy. In any event, Santa Paws brought a new Lego bed for them and they love it. Since they are taking turns in the new bed I was able to take down the fort and reclaim the couch!

My biggest gift win was the XBOX Series X I managed through considerable effort and time to secure for DS2. He waded through a small pile of gifts and it was the last one, of course the thing he wanted most but he told me he figured since they are impossible to get the only way I could get one was by some ebay scalper. Nope, got it from Walmart by miracles and prayers. He just flew back to California this morning and that XBox had his bag over weight so he took out some other stuff that I will ship to him. The XBox was definitely going along!
I found a toy washing machine for DGD that spins and makes washing sounds. She loved that! The day before on Christmas Eve I had given her a toy grocery store I found at a thrift shop that has a microphone, scanner and cash register and even a slot for credit card swiping! At TJ Maxx I found a grocery store accessory kit with food, grocery bags, money and even an employee of the week sign that I put her photo on. She played with that pretty much all day.
Last New Years my horrible brother ruined New Years and since then I really have nothing to do with him, but he does look in on my mom who lives alone and I am 3 states away. And I knew that financially they were tight because he changed jobs. So I put a Visa gift card in a tiny gift bag and my mom gave it to them on Christmas. She kept saying they don't have anything for you, but I told her it is a gesture of good will on my part because of what he does for her. Apparently they were quite surprised and happy and it was a bit generous amount so it may pay a bill or buy food.

First gift I opened from dh was a Dyson stick vac. Now, I've have wanted one for months but I didn't expect to see it under the tree. However, I am happy to receive it, I was just a little surprised cause it's a vacuumm....under the tree. Excited to use it though. His second gift to me was a Macbook Pro with huge storage. I was I asked him what he wanted for Christmas and he said a new plaid shirt from LLBean. He asked me what I wanted and I picked a gift around $100. He spent significantly more which made me feel a bit bad but he said not to feel bad because he knew the rules and broke them. He did get a signing bonus from work and apparently spent the whole thing on me 😳 I made a few crocheted afghans throws. My son's girlfriend came over a few days ago, I didn't know she was in town because her parents live an hour away. I quickly wrapped her small gifts and then asked if she would like one of the afghans. Her eyes lit up and she chose one that is done in sock monkey colours. She was so happy with it. She loves hand made items. Yay. My adult children gave me lovely, thoughtful gifts without asking what I wanted. A beautiful puzzle, bath salts from a nice shop, bath bombs and mud mask and chocolates. It's the first year they didn't ask what I wanted and chose everything themselves. I loved all of it.

I am so proud of my 13 year old son this morning. He really wanted an Oculus VR headset, but we decided that would be a no-go this year. To top it off, a lot of his gifts were more on the practical side this year- a new comforter for his bed, a light for his room. And he was so great about not getting his dream gift. He oooohed and ahhhhhhed over every single thing and was genuinely thrilled with everything. At the end once everything was opened, he said, "Even though I didn't get what I really wanted I love everything I DID get and am so happy. This was a great Christmas." I mean, there's no way 13 YO me would have been so mature and grateful.... just sayin'. So proud of my boy.

I got a Kitchenaid stand mixer. We remodeled the kitchen this year, so I have plenty of counter space to make baking easier and I've been experimenting with breads. Every recipe seems to have directions for making the dough with a mixer instead of hand kneading, so I'm excited to get baking. Should make my cookie baking faster.

Surprising hit, didn’t expect it to go over as well as it did… I gave DS a coffee table book of ancient mosaics. He’s obsessed with Ancient Rome. He has been walking around, showing us his favorites, sending pictures to his gf in NJ.

My DH knocked it out of the park.
He gave me a Le Crueset Dutch Oven, Green Bay Packers Stock, Kate Spade glitter Keds, and a beautiful metal peacock for my yard. My mom gave me the Instant Pot Coffee maker that makes KCups and Nespresso pods. I love it!
We gave DS 1 a kindle paper white, an Amazon echo kids, and lego Mario. He said it was his favorite Christmas. DS 2 shrieked at his Wall E robot and his Nibbles plush toy.

DH and I were not buying gifts this year then he surprises me with a large bath pillow and a bath bar!!! When I saw the bath bar I was disappointed as our bath has a wall one side so a bar will not fit However DH had bought some long studs that he screwed into one side so that it works! I'm now in my element as the bath bar has a book stand, a wine glass holder and a candle spot. One of the best gifts he's ever got me

I forgot about a huge gift hit. I gave my dad a bag of his favorite pretzels. This man is notoriously difficult to shop for. The things you think he will absolutely love, he hardly reacts. And the simplest things make him the happiest. So this year I got him his favorite brand of pretzels and wrapped them up. He was thrilled.

I asked for an electric foot massager for Christmas. Between me and ds2, the device has been in almost continuous use since opening it. Being on my feet all day teaching has made the neuropathy in my feet much worse, and I was craving some additional relief. The massager is awesome. It also has heat and my feet are cold from September through June, so this is heavenly. My younger son with Osteogenesis Imperfecta has been fighting me for time in it all day. 😀 What are your gift wins for the day? can you send info on what you received? My dad has terrible neuropathy and I'd love to get him something that would provide relief! Ooops - that's what I get for not reading beyond OP before posting -I see you've already posted info, thank you!

One hit was in thanks to the peas, not sure who posted the smoking whiskey kit, but my husband loved it! He's so hard to buy for, so it was fun to get him something he hadn't thought of and will enjoy!

A good time was had by all! My favorite gifts to me were: Ryobi cordless glue guns and tools along with a better poultry shears (to make it easier to spatchcock chicken and turkeys) all from my son. My eldest and partner got me an art piece from MoMA when they visited NYC. Along with a fancy Monet water lilies face mask with its own little hooked carry bag. And my secret Santa (SisIL) got me this tee (among other stuff) as they thought of my 2 kitties in the M and W. http://instagram.com/p/CX6ig2uuldJ

My favorite gifts I gave were a pair of Converse (in orange sunset, her fave color) to my niece as her secret Santa. She lived them and said she has goal if 40 pair collection like a former high school teacher if hers. To my eldest and partner a ninja foodi flip oven/air fryer/dehydrater/toaster etc. They must like it as already found spot on counter and out their toaster and smaller air fryer in donate pile.😂 To that partner, who goes by "Sea" and loves to cook and vintage I found vintage Revere Ware on Facebook marketplace for a steal!!! The lady was just so happy they'd go to a loving home. Neptune pattern (SEAhorses) that are kind of rare. only limited made for 3 year period 1967-70 (?). There's 2 pans and a Double Boiler (!!) that I rarely see in this pattern or any. For my son I got the movies I knew to be on his own personal buy/wish list along with George Carlin commemorative 10 DVD set. And this Lego set: All were hits unless I have a bunch of great actors in my hands.😉

One of my gifts to DH was a light, puffy vest. He is 85, and tells me (usually late in the afternoon) that his “blood is running thin.” (He’s cold). He has heavy vests to wear when going out, but this one is perfect for indoor wear. He put it on Christmas morning, and has only taken it off since then to go to 🛌. Sometimes it’s the little things…
