Hugs and a prayer to all those who need it.
My vent is Delta canceled DS and his family's flight here Christmas day. I have my fingers crossed that they make it in today.
Vent 2 is we had 2" of snow last night with a layer of icy rain on top. I need to get out and get that shoveled so I can take DH to dialysis. Then I have to get things ready for our delayed Christmas day, before picking them up from the airport. I hope.
Everyone is healthy and I saw much of my family yesterday, so these are vents. Everyone is vaxxed & boosted, so we went ahead, as my dad's health is failing fast.
Oh, funny-ish vent #3 is my oldest brother is a Trump lovin' misinformed, racist, homophobic, and misogyinist. Now we know he's a Karen, too. The vent he had over his gas station closing 5 minutes early was ridiculous. There was an open gas station literally across the street!

Hey girls. Just want to thank you for listening to my whine yesterday! ♥️ Today is a new day, and the sun is coming out so things are looking less bleak this morning.
I am So sorry that so many of us are dealing with covid/holiday/other disappointments right now. Sending warm, fuzzy thoughts to you all! Let’s get through this week and hope that 2022 finally turns things around.

Well I will just chime in to say that 4 feet of snow sounds like a lot!! Sorry this hasn’t worked out - but here’s to 2023! It was 4 inches, not 4 feet, but I believe it is much more now. I have family outside Seattle and I think it has been snowing almost all day. 2 inches is enough to shut down Seattle though. Portland and Seattle just are not equipped to handle snow. I have already had to listen to my NY-er husband complain about our inability to deal with snow here (I grew up in central CA where it snowed 1/2 inch one time), and I reminded him that NYC is not hilly and that he can’t drive in the snow here any better than the natives, which led to a separate rant about the lack of snow plows (which is fair). |

I am so sorry! We are supposed to leave for vacation (rented a house on the coast) tomorrow. I don’t think we will be able to get out — we have to go down a hill, and right now that hill is a sheet of ice. I shoveled our entire dead end by myself — most of our neighbors are at least 70, one has dementia, and one is literally a retired nun. There is a little condo complex on our dead end that only has young people (20s-30s). While I was shoveling in front of the neighbor’s house with dementia, one of the young guys came out and trotted on by without offering to help at all. Last year, one of them asked to borrow my snow shovel, and literally just dug out his car without even doing the sidewalk in front of his building. People! I’m curious, what did you decide? 🤞🏻 |

My petty vent: Target stores. Lately, you can only get certain deals if you use "store pickup" or "same day delivery". You cannot get these deals while shopping in-the store. I don't mind store pickup, but sometimes the pickup area is busy and I like to pick the items I'm purchasing. (I have received damaged/previously opened packaging so I'm always wary.) I wish they would offer these deals to in-store shoppers.

I’ve also heard that the prices of items you look up on their app, goes up when they detect your close to or in the store. Walmart does the same thing! Items more in the store than their pick up price. |

I wish they would offer these deals to in-store shoppers. I loathe Target for a lot of reasons. The last time I shopped at Target was for Christmas 2020. They had a Cricut Air 2 on sale, and it was the best price I had seen. They had some other items I wanted to pick up while I was in the store, and there was a sign that if you bought 3 (I think?) beauty items, you got a $5 gift card. I did not read the fine print, and apparently there was a symbol on the sign that indicated it was only good if you used the app somehow. (I did not have the app, did not want the app, and still don't have the app, so it was not apparent to me that I needed to download the stupid app to get my $5 gift card.) I picked up three items with the sign under them for stocking stuffers, and when I checked out was told I could not get the gift card without the app. I was pi$$ed. I took my purchases to customer service to return the 3 beauty items and complain about the lack of clear signage. After a bit of an argument, the manager agreed to give me the gift card. I promptly spent it on some Christmas candy and have never gone back. This was the last in a very long series of bad experiences with Target and customer service. When I see people going on and on about how much they love Target, I just don't get it. Their prices are higher than most other stores around here. They used to have good store brands, but now they are cheap and flimsy. Their "partnerships" with designers result in some of the ugliest clothing and household items I can imagine. For those who love Target, that's great for you. You do you. I will continue to avoid that store like the plague LOL. |
