I don't want to store my tree and garlands in boxes anymore. What storage option do you love?

We have a live tree, but all our decorations are in plastic bins.

One tree is in one of those tree bags. The other on goes back in its original box.

When my kids outgrew the need for an outside toy box, I scrubbed it down, and brought it to the basement. It’s big and sturdy. It holds my artificial tree great. It can hold accessories like cords, stockings, tree skirt, and more. My other decor is in larger plastic tubs.
The outside toy box is very large, and hard plastic with a super strong lid that I can stack on top of.

I have a zippered tree bag that I got on clearance for 75% off for the cheapie 6’ fake tree, and the new 7.5’ tree goes back in the cardboard box it came in. My only complaint about putting it back in its box is that it doesn’t have a tab or something to keep the top of the box closed so I end up taping it shut which isn’t ideal. I don’t really want another bag because they are big, awkward and somewhat difficult to store. At least the box can be stood on end in a hall closet (actually, inside the access door to the stairs to the attic crawl space).
ETA: The garlands are in a trash bag in the upstairs hall closet. Ornaments are stored in those printed decorative Christmas boxes. The ones that didn’t come in their own boxes are wrapped in tissue paper and put in the boxes. The ones that came in boxes (dated Hallmark ornaments) go back in their boxes and then in the bigger boxes.

The tree is in a large zippered bag -- it's stored under the cellar steps. Everything else is stored in plastic bins on shelves in the basement.

We have a cmas tree bag like Kerri posted above, and then all my decorations are in rubbermaid bins, with a good latch, as we get mice in the attic where they are stored.

The tree goes back in it's box. Garland and most other decorations go in Rubbermaid totes. They stack nice, pack nice and don't fall apart like cardboard boxes.

I like storing them in their original boxes because they are so compact. If I had useable attic space or a basement I’d be tempted to get a large tote for them so that I could store everything else with them like the topper and tree skirt. For now, those are stored in the box with the ornaments for each tree.

Our tree is stored in a heavy duty plastic tote. Our garland, lights, decorations, etc are stored in regular plastic totes.

Our tree is a flip tree from Balsam Hill, so it comes with its own bag. When we put garland on the tree. We just stored it in a box with other assorted decorations

In the original cardboard box, then stored up high in the garage. We have a closet that we built in the garage but it doesn't go to the ceiling. It's the perfect size for a Christmas box and nothing can ruin it (mice, bugs, water) but we typically don't have those problems anyways, but you never know.

We have a main floor bedroom that is used for storage, and our tree lives in there. We take the decorations off and then leave the tree assembled and stick it in the corner of the storage room. Our dog likes to sleep underneath it, like she’s a wild animal 🤣

Rubbermaid totes.
I have a few that are specifically for ornaments- they came with dividers and hold three layers of ornaments.
Anything breakable is wrapped in paper (like all my Rae Dunn holiday stuff) and added to a tote.
The only ornaments that are still in their original boxes are my Hallmark Father Christmas series to keep them from being damaged, and my breakable Disney ornaments. They go in their box and then into totes.

You know how you 'age' a tree by counting its rings? You can age an artificial christmas tree by counting the layers of tape! My pencil tree just gets undecorated and stored in the basement storage area as is. The large tree will go back in its box... year one = one layer of tape!

It goes in the giant storage bag on wheels along with the Christmas tree.
