I haven't really been scrapbooking much lately because the thought of designing and completing a 12x12 layout just doesn't make me happy. I have had a lot of fun with the December Daily (first year doing it) and realized that maybe that is the path I need to take moving forward for documenting. With DD in college and DS home schooled right now, there aren't a lot of activities to document.
I think I may finish out this year and previous years that still need to be documented and then next year move to PL pocket pages.
Where do you get your PL supplies (albums, page protectors, etc)?
Any companies I need to stay away from due to quality?
What sizes are there for PL pocket page documenting?

I have done Project Life for two years, and really enjoy it. My album and page protectors are 12x12, and primarily are Scrapbook.com-branded, though I have some page protectors from Echo Park, We R' Memory Keepers and the actual Project Life brand. 9x12 and 6x8 also seem to be popular sizes, and I think Scrapbook.com sells products for those as well.
I personally don't like the Project Life-branded pocket page protectors, they seem really thin, flimsy, and puncture easily, and I swear some of those smaller pockets aren't true to size and I have to trim a little bit off my photos and cards to make them fit. The other company's products have worked just fine for me.

I started with PL because I was doing a Disney book and there were so many pictures. I liked it so much that I transitioned our family books to PL. The kids each have a SB that is mostly traditional pages with a few PL style pages thrown in, but they have a lot less pages in their books than the family book does.
I do not do traditional PL weekly spreads. I do my spreads like I did before when I did traditional pages - mainly by events that happen. There are a few random non-event pages, but now that my kids are older it is rare.
I use all brands and all sizes. My books are 12 by 12, but there are some insert pages that are different sizes that I use if an event needs extra pictures or if an event just has a few pictures.

I do both. Mostly PL with added 12x12 layouts.

I switched over this year from 12x12 to PL. I’ve liked it and have kept up with it. BUT I do miss doing 12x13 full LOs. I think whichever I do it does get repetitive. I’ve found PL style is easier for me to get done and I feel better that I’ve kept up. I’ve also been working on an older album that’s full 12 x12 so I’ve gotten the best of both styles. I haven’t decided for 2022 what I’ll do yet. I may do a mix but we will see. I use 12 x 12 albums from wherever is on sale and I like the scrapbook.com page protectors (great price when on sale). I sub to Elle's Studio for the pocket cards and some embellishments, but I also supplement with papers and such from my stash.

I do a mix of both. I use WRMK binder albums and pages. I like it because I put my photos in the 4x6 photo pages project life style but then I can go back and scrap certain events as 12x12 in the same album if I want.

I switched to PL last year. I do 9x12 weekly PL spreads. I still have photos from prior years that I will continue to scrap in 12x12.
I buy my albums and page protectors from scrapbook.com, no issues or complaints. When I made the switch last year, I subbed to a few PL subscriptions to build up some stash. Now, I am going thru and un-subscribing from the ones that I personally found challenging to work with.

I did PL for the first time in 2021 and I transitioned from traditional scrapbooking. I honestly really enjoyed it and I want to continue that way. I can see how doing the DD would lead you down that path if it was your first time doing any kind of pocket page. I do my layouts monthly. I usually have between 3-5 pages a month in PL. I subscribed this year to Hip Kit and I really liked it. But some of it was too seasonal for my liking, although I think it was a great mix of cards and embellishments and definitely well-coordinated. I've cancelled that subscription and starting the new year with Elle's Studio. I am wanting to cut back my PL a little and do more story based pages in a 6x8 album. I also subscribe to Ali's story kit and I have barely scratched the surface of those kits yet. PL is nice because it's quick and simple and plenty of journaling and you actually get to keep up with what is going on in your life. It's easy to include every day moments and one off pictures. I was very tired of only having one photo on a 12x12 page. It seemed very wasteful to me and I'm trying to cut down on the amount of paper waste I generate. I also am a small stash scrapbooker and I like to keep things small.

I went from 8.5x11 to 12x12 using divided sheet protectors. My life is really random, I rarely have big life events, and it's helped me to remember to include the smaller things like record temperatures this summer, a new food, restaurant, meal we've tried, news, or covid.
It really isn't Project Life, take one photo a day. I usually make a monthly journal card with the year, include a lot of photos, and leave a few spots open for a little bit of embellishing and journaling. If the photos are more fun like my daughter going to Comic Con, I'll have less on the page and more scrapbook products. Once the album is full, I start another one. I'm not set on one or two albums per year. I've had two years in one album. It definitely does not have a cohesive look, but it doesn't bother me.
Page design has always been the aspect of scrapbooking I dreaded the most. I am not creative. I also got tired of trying to get every album done this way. All I want to do right now is basic documenting and be a little crafty. I can put a regular page in there if I feel the need.
My favorite page configurations are 6 4x6 slots, 6 6x4 slots, and 12 4x3 slots. I print most photos at 4x3 and they usually fit in these configurations quite well. I have WRMK, SEI, Echo Park, and PL page protectors. I like all of them but BH PL the least. They aren't as sturdy. Once I use all my page protectors up, I may go to a smaller size, but I really don't want to waste all the money I've spent.
ETA: SEI no longer sells scrapbook products, but there may be some out there for purchase on the internet. I'm not sure about WRMK. I think it's just 12x12?

Forgot to add I own a crap ton of Project Life cards. I separated them by color and use them quite often. I usually embellish them or cover words I think are stupid. I'm okay with rounded corners. If you suck at cutting straight lines like me, I know there's metal dies out there for pocket scrapping. I have the BH PL metal dies; they also have the rounded corners. If I didn't have such a big stash, I'd be tempted to subscribe to a monthly kit.
I do want to learn to use canva this year to make the occasional journal card that is more personalized.

I use the divided page protectors to put my photos in. I will add a small layout in a 4x6 size to some of the pages using a card size layout. If pictures really move me to do a 12x12 layout, I will do one.
My albums are more like embellished photo albums versus scrapbooks.

I always did 12 x 12…I have used the PL app exclusively for at least 5 years now - I still print them as 12 x 12 It is much easier for me and I stay current on my pages now

Echo Park is having an online warehouse sale right now with pocket protectors on sale - a great time to stock up! I stick to the “Design A” original configuration for simplicity - horizontal photos I print 4x6; vertical photos I print 3x4, generally.
I sub to Elle’s Studio and love it. I also pick up extras on release day and sales.

In the 2000s - 2010 I did 12x12 but nw that I'm a busy professional, I found myself falling behind. I switched to pocket pages abut 8 years ago and it really helped me get documenting done faster.

Scrapbook.com has a bunch of different options for PL page protectors and albums and I think their prices are reasonable. Just wish they had a free shipping threshold. I've been using their 9x12 albums.

I switched to project life in 2013. I still create some traditional layouts, but have downsized those in recent years to 9x12 or smaller. I rarely do a full 12x12 page anymore, it just seems so big and also is harder to store. The only 12x12 albums I keep are my project life ones and my daughter’s albums.
I do weekly spreads for project life and love the daily life aspect of it, I find a lot of little stories to capture even if there isn’t a ton going on. It has gotten me in the habit of taking photos more regularly even without “events,” jotting down smaller stories, and documenting current events. For products, I use 12x12 albums from scrapbook.com. They also have divided page protectors. I have a lot of back stash of ones from Becky Higgins, but I think she discontinued them and I wouldn’t recommend her products anymore. Once I use hers up I will switch to scrapbook.com.
For cards, I use primarily Ali Edwards. She has a stories by the month kit which has cards that fit the season/month. She also has a stories by the year collection (not sure if it’s still available?) with generic cards that are great for project life. She also has story kits which have more specific themes, but I love them to stretch my story telling… although I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re just starting out. Studio Calico also has nice monthly kits, they are called “documenter kits” for project life. I haven’t subscribed to them in a few years because I have too many products but I am considering picking it up again for 2022. There are a lot of other brands people like, but these are my two favorite for quality/design. You can also create a lot of your own cards with traditional scrapbook supplies to use up what you have.
Good luck! I hope you enjoy project life… I tried it out in 2013 thinking it would be a one year experiment and I haven’t looked back. I love this system of documenting and I don’t see myself switching it up anytime soon.

I do both although focused more on PL the last few years (except 2021 😭). I found I enjoyed PL more, it was quicker and I appreciated having the little day-to-day things captured. I’m a slow scrapper, so those things rarely made it into 12x12 LO’s.
When I originally started PL I did 12x12 pocket pages with a week numbering system. This did not work for me and I fell behind and gave up by late spring.
When I restarted, I went to a 6x8 album with a mix of 3x4 and 4x6 pockets and by mid-year, knew I would run out of space. Finally I bit the bullet and went to a 6x12. Like the size but I wanted to be certain to have only 1 album per year, and they have been full to the max. I’m going to stick with it since I have 4 years done and I expect fewer photos going forward (although if there are ever grandkids, I’ll be short on space again!).
I use Studio Calico linen covered albums and they have been fine, and I like the style and spine thickness. If they were to get super heavy use, I’d be a little concerned how they would hold up over time. The seam between the spine and cover boards just seems a little flimsy. I had one album where the ring binder piece fell out right away and they were good about replacing it. I like both the SC and Ali Edwards page protectors. Nice variety of sizes and I think the weight is good quality.
My 12x12 albums are all Creative Memories and I like the quality of their album covers the best. I had bought some of their pocket pages although didn’t end up trying them out. If I decide to make a switch to anything larger than the 6x12 I may consider that as I’m not a huge fan of ring binder styles, especially for larger albums.
