I use a small bedroom as my craft room/office, it is just over 10x11. For anyone with a similarly sized room, how is your room arranged? Do you have a free floating desk, use a desk against the wall? I want to hear how it is laid out!
Right now I have a big U of desk space that goes all along my back wall, 2/3 up the side of one wall, then has a peninsular desk in the center of the room. It has worked well enough but the way I have it laid out the room can feel very cramped, I have a lot of dead desk space, and I just don't have sufficient storage leading to things piling up on the desk or floor which leads to the previously mentioned feeling cramped. The room is definitely big enough for my needs, just not laid out well. This coming year I am going to hire someone to redo the whole room for me. I am planning on gutting the closet and transforming that to my day to day workspace (I work form home M-F at a computer, I don't need a lot of physical space for that and want it to be more separated from my craft space than it is now). I would love to hear how other people have set up similarly sized spaces! I watch tons of craft room tours on YouTube but no one ever says how big their space is and they all seem larger than mine (I'm bad at visually estimated size).

I have a small room 8x10 maybe. I have a desk facing one wall with 2 floating shelves above it. Then on the wall behind me are 2 alex drawers & a kallax bookshelf from Ikea.

I do, I do! Mine is a little tiny square room, with a tiny closet. I gutted the closet and stacked as many jetmax cubes as I could in there. I did try to have an "island" but it was too squashed. So I moved my desk against the wall. It's not perfect, but pretty cozy. The only thing I don't like is my back to the door, I worry someone is sneaking up on me.

I just moved out of an 11x13 craft room with no closet, so slightly larger than yours. I have a 60" x 42" dining room table for my craft table and originally I had a short side against a wall, which made two "dead ends". Later I moved it to the center and used every bit of the 4 walls with 1) shallow built in standing height countertop with shelves and drawers under it 2) 4x4 kallax 3) 2 pottery barn leaning shelf units 4) custom standing height table/shelf that was my die cutting station with wall mounted DVD shelves above that hold stamp sets.
With the table in the center I liked being able to go around either side and it felt less claustrophobic for me. I had tons of wall mounted storage shelves, rods (for holding punches) and hooks so that room was cozy and crowded.
Just moved to a different room that is 10x13 but with a walk-in closet that I installed floor to ceiling shelves in. Also took just the 4x4 kallax and die cutting table/shelf so only 2 walls of furniture (although am adding a 2x4 kallax on casters to a 3rd wall that will help make up for the high counter I lost). I did put the wall-mounted DVD shelves behind me since they are only 6" deep and then I didn't have to get up to grab some of my stamp sets.
For additional storage I have 5 ikea Helmer drawer units (to keep them out of the way, 2 are under my table and 2 in the closet; you can also stack 2 of them nicely), some smaller shelf units (one is on the floor in a corner and the rest are either on the kallax or on my table), 1 ikea Raskog, and some other wall mounted storage/magnet boards.
I was notorious for letting supplies pile up on my table or parts of the floor and hated it. I'm determined to have a place for everything with this reorganization (I'm about 80% done setting up the new room).

My room is a pretty similar size to yours and is my combined home office and scrapping space. I don't have any built in robes in my room. I have a couch along the wall with the door, and a small storage unit in the corner next to it which holds some scrapping supplies. On the left hand wall as you stand in the doorway is my work desk. This is a standing height desk and it takes up about 2/3 of the available wall space. I have my work set up here but also my cameo and printer. Underneath the desk I have some additional storage (overflow supplies mostly). The window wall is opposite the doorway and has nothing on it. Then the wall to the right when you walk in the room holds my scrapping desk and a set of drawers. I use a lot of on the desk storage given my limited footprint, but I also don't have a massive stash. My room is slightly rectangular, so the desks are on the two shorter walls and both face the wall which gives me more space in the middle of the room between them.

If my room were a perfect rectangle it would be 10x9. However, the stairs to the attic were put through the room (through the old hallway linen closet). We also have a steeply sloped roof, which cuts into the closet space. The space where the radiator is has a shed dormer so I have regular 8 foot ceilings in that section. I do have two windows, but the radiator makes space under the one useless. This is pretty true to scale. If you compare the width of the door to that narrow opening to where my desk is you get how cramped it is. Other than the Kallax, Alex drawers, raskögs, and small closet (which is full of boxes of photos) I’m always moving things around trying to find space. I moved into this room when my uncle moved in with us. He moved into my old craft room which was 22’ x 11’. ETA: could not upload my floor plan. Will figure it out. flic.kr/ps/3X2KZb

Here is mine. One side for paper crafting the other for sewing. The table on the far left has another side that pulls up and makes a 3x6 work space. There is a closet just inside the door that is shelved. It holds all my papers, tools, material, yarn and cross stitch stuff IMG_0795 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr IMG_0794 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr

Try having a smaller room, and insisting the desk face the door, and no holes in the walls. I have a thing about monsters sneaking up on me and ruining the orange peel walls. Luckily I have moved out of that room into a much bigger one.

I have a nook that is probably 6 ft x 7.5 ft at the top of the stairs. 2 walls parallel to each other and a large window with sliding door to balcony.
I have a craft table on one wall with 2 shelves. It is the old cubicle style with drawers and what not where the work table attaches.
On the opposite wall is my computer desk. Above that I have one of my grandma's paintings and 12 photos that I took. I have a black and white gaming chair that is super comfy and can spin between the two tables and roll up as needed. There is about 3 ft space between the two work stations.
Having a 3 bedroom townhouse, it is the only space available. So I have had to make it work.
I like it because I am near the kids bedrooms so if ds is upstairs playing I can be alert to anything going on. And if he is downstairs playing, I have clear hearing and can go down a few stairs and check in on him. (Autism +)
It helps me be mindful of what I bring in and to use what I have because I don't have a ton of space.
I would love more tools and what not but no space.

Our rec room is 12x17. At one end, is a large Kallax TV unit with the big screen TV, all the albums, and some storage. My son's "bedroom" is in one corner - so he takes up 9'x 6'. My kid's computer space takes up another corner, say 6'x 5' with the desk and chair. So this leaves me the long skinny space on one side - I have about 5'x14'. But it's a strip of space from 1 corner, and the centre is "empty" (like where all the functional divisions join!) so it feels less crowded. I have a large kitchen table that is skinny end to a wall. I sit facing the TV and no one can sneak up behind me My chair space is only about 3'x4", but I have shelves behind me, a kallax unit directly beside me, shelves on my desk against the wall, an alex unit under the table and a raskog tucked in beside me. So most of my frequently used items I can reach simply by swivelling on my chair! The complaints I have: 1. no room for a good garbage in my little chair area 2. no additional desk space - I have to stay organized with my projects 3. no windows Here - this is a typical appearance of my area when I'm working - It's more organized that it looks - it's just very very compressed with a mish mosh of storage (because I repurpose a lot of boxes and containers!). And, alas, that cupboard behind me is the fusebox not a storage cupboard Untitled by kirstendrew, on Flickr Untitled by kirstendrew, on Flickr

My room has about the same proportions as @sunnycamom 's, but my window is at the side. A few years ago, I hired a kitchen cabinet builder to create storage and shelving for me. I have standing height working counters along both facing walls, drawers and cabinets underneath. I have a corner office area and shelves for my albums at one end of the room. The corner opposite my desk has a corner pantry unit. I like being able to step from one counter to the other when scrapping, and having all my supplies within reach.

I feel like mine is about that size, but I am also bad with measurements like that! It may be a hair larger.
I have a large kitchen cart (on reinforced wheels) that I use as my main desk space, counter height, which sticks out from a side wall, like a peninsula. In hindsight, I wish I would have thought more about using the exterior of the room for cabinets and counter space. I have two windows, so at first I had my stuff positioned so I can see out the window and use the natural light for taking photos. After reconfiguration I have the windows at my back. So my cart sticks out into center of room - the good thing about this is I use storage on both sides. I have a small couch that converts to a bed (ikea) because originally we had more visitors so this was an alternate place to stay. That doesn't happen often now so I am contemplating moving this out, although I do like having the couch, but could replace with just a chair.
I can only say what I've observed in my space...but a few things to think about (and I wish I would've thought of before) 1) I like the idea of things not being too permanent if you want to move them around. 2) I find my focus changes from time to time and I need to shift supplies around to make more sense for what is easily accessible. 3) No matter how much I like the visual aspect of color coded rooms, I prefer things to be behind cabinets, doors & drawers. I have to remind myself that I don't want everything on display. 4) Install electrical sockets to be accessible. 5) If not labeling keep some kind of inventory - I don't like everything labeled by name, but the one main drawers I use came with a space for labels and were numbered. It is actually a dining buffet. I continued the trend by numbering other drawers, in my Alex set, and so on - then created a table in Pages with the number and filled in the contents of drawers. I put in general things, then was also very specific with some things. I used to easily remember where things were, but not so much anymore - its either my memory getting worse or acquiring too much supplies, probably both!
I am planning on some reorganization soon, utilizing some new organization pieces from scrapbook.com. If I have a chance will try to get some photos.
Good luck with designing your space!

My room is bigger 11x17 but it's not dedicated to scrapbooking. I have one long wall of cubes for my albums and one short wall for my scrapbooking - I posted photos in the craft room tours thread. The other long wall has my computer desk, a 2x3 cube for sewing storage (with my printer on top), my sewing desk, and a bookcase with family archive stuff. In the centre I have 4 2x3 cubes in a rectangle - they mostly store sewing stuff but also family archive and genealogy things. The final wall is mainly the opening to the foyer - I have a lamp but nothing else.
NONE of my electrical outlets are easily assessible so I made liberal use of power strips. I prefer everything to be at my fingertips so all of my scrapbook supplies are reachable when I'm sitting at the scrapbook table.
I do find that less is more sometimes - I'm currently over-stocked wih paper and cardstock and collection kits so I'm aiming on using more in the new year.

My room is very small, I went from a large loft, to a small room that holds my work desk, another desk and doubles as a guest room when we have guests. I really like this desk I got from Wayfair, the top part is great for craft storage as is the little shelf on the bottom left. You might have to scroll through the photos to see the top part. www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/winston-porter-burlie-desk-w005980128.htmlI took the closet in the room and turned it all into craft storage. My Iris boxes are in the garage, but it's generally stuff that can stand weather changes. They are all on a stainless steel culinary rack. I also put in an Ikea wall cabinet to store more stuff. I will post pics tomorrow if I can Overall the system works for me, I like where I can see everything. I know what's in the Iris boxes, so if I have to run out to the garage to grab something, it's no big deal.

I had a 10 x 12 room in our old house. I now have an 11 x 17 with a ten foot walk in closet. It's a scrapper's dream, but I am still organizing everything. I am in the middle of getting my paper organized. The best piece of furniture I have is a 6 piece credenza. It stores and displays a lot. I also have ladder shelves that hold a ton.

Mine is small as well - approx 10 feet x just over 7 feet. I don't have built in cupboards. I have an Ikea Linmonn desk running all the way along one long wall then my computer desk and printer making an 'L' along one short wall with under desk storage and one set of shelves.

My room is small. I have my desk in the middle with storage cubes and the old pottery barn slat wall shelving behind my desk. My desk is a standing table so there's double depth cube shelving underneath it as well. Along the wall I face when I'm scrapping is another long set of cube shelving and my computer and silhouette is on top of that. That is also my window wall so there is a cat sitting area in top of the shelves under the window. My closet holds my card catalog. I like that I can access most everything from my desk.

My space is a Lego and craft room, 11 x 12 with wall closet and bathroom. Did wall shelving and cabinets on one wall, laminated a door and set it on cubes and drawers for the work table in the center of the room. Have cube storage in three locations.
I do not like to leave things out and have places for their storage in cabinets. The only things that stay out besides the computer and printers are the tool holder and Silhouette. Tried to attach a photo but got the forum full message.

Yeah - you have to link photos from somewhere else really - I put on FB in a private (only me) album and grab the image address, click on the 'insert image' icon on the reply window, and paste. I know others share from Instagram and Flickr

I had a large room at my old house but in our temporary rental house (we’re here while building) I just claimed a random “room” that is basically a closet. It’s not quite 6.8 x 6.8. It is currently a disaster. I need to take everything out and start over organizing and putting things away now that I have become more regular with scrapping again. On the plus side, if I actually get it organized, I can appreciate how I could grab everything in the room while seated at my desk! Lol

I have my biggest craftroom ever... 9x9. And my gaming computer is in here too! I moved in December so it's currently organized. My overflow is in the garage. Which is better than I had. My overflow was everywhere and my craft area was the back half of our bedroom. I found a used L-shape desk. Computer on short end. Crafting on the long end. Lots of shelves, bins piled up. Stuff in the closet. Cricut is on a rolling small computer desk my husband found at a thrift store and it stays up against a wall until I need it. Has some storage area on the bottom so I have some of my other gadgets there. I have a nice window finally! So my one side of the desk is there. This was the first room painted too. Purple.
