I ordered 6 new powders in the Black Friday sales, but I didn't realise that one of the colours was a pre-order. I didn't end up getting them until Christmas Eve. I didn't have time to do my nails for Christmas Day, because I had so much cooking and wrapping to do. I finally got around to doing my nails yesterday. I decided against my usual gold and/or glitter, and instead went with a mermaid ombre look. I realise that this will not be to most people's taste, but I bloody love them! I can't stop looking at my nails! I still need a bit of practice doing ombre. I did my pointer finger first, and it turned out quite well. When I did the others I couldn't quite get the subtle shading from one colour to the next. I think I will have to change them for NYE, because they do not co-ordinate at all with any of the dresses I am considering wearing. The colours are Violet Sky, Ocean Rush, and Emerald City.
So, what colours are you wearing this holiday season?

That’s very festive 😁
I’m wearing Orly Crawford’s Wine, a luscious, slightly shimmery dark red.

I have disco ball glitter and a top coat. I'm super fancy right now! LOL
I've been crafting and sandblasting and didn't want to bother with real polish to only have it chip and be a mess. The clear/holo glitter doesn't show chips.

originalvanillabean, I have a colorstreet order and it smells like heavy nail polish. (Ya, I know.) Does it take long for the smell to fade? I can't use them if the smell stays strong, because it will give dh a headache. AussieMeg, I think your nails look really pretty.

I actually got a gel polish, which I never do. I have a red tip with a thin silver stripe between the red and natural nail. I don't do gel because I hate the grow out. At least with clear on my nails to the cuticle, there is no obvious grow out. Now just to deduce if I'm going to keep getting gel, or go back to nothing.
My toes are almost always painted. Right now they are a very festive Ruby Pumps by China Glaze.

Once air hits them, it fades pretty quickly.

I think it is strongest when you first apply the strips, but not as bad as polish from a bottle. My DH notices the smell too when he walks by the room I am putting them on, but it could be the polish remover he's smelling. I can smell it maybe the first night if I put my nails up to my nose, but otherwise, I don't think it lasts that long.
