Most get tossed. I’ll keep ones that have special personalized messages inside. If it’s a Christmas card I keep them in a big envelope that I keep with our Christmas decorations. This year my dad sent a beautiful card with a lot of writing in it, and I ended up making it the final page in DD (just paper clipped it to a page so it could be taken out easily).
My kids always make cards (just copy paper folded in half!), and those get put in a pocket at the back of PL.

I use my tag punch on Christmas cards to make tags for gifts for next year. I have a really pretty collection of tags. I really love this idea, and am totally doing this with the stack of Christmas cards from coworkers that I have sitting on the corner of my desk. I always have a need for gift tags and this really appeals to the part of me that likes to reuse things. Right now I have my cards kept in a box, but now that I am doing PL to document my everyday memories special cards are going to get put in the album.

I have every card given to me since birth. My mom kept them all and I just hold on to them. The 70's baby cards have the best images. I've got a big vintage suitcase that they are all in. I honestly love looking through old Christmas card & Birthday messages written in them. They are just something I love to keep.

I saw Jo Blackford's suggestion a couple of years ago and jumped right on it. Most Christmas cards are recycled and sent to Cards for Soldiers

I have been part of card swaps here for several years. I finally cut up a few of the earlier year’s cards and it was so hard to do.
I recently watched a FB live demonstration where the demonstrator used a Cinch to punch holes in the sides of the cards, then bound the cards with the Cinch binding wire, making a little “book”. Afterward, she tied short lengths of ribbon around the wires to decorate and cover the wire. It was so cute. The cards were bound so the cards could still be opened and read.
I had saved the cards from my birthday card swap group and bound those with my Cinch. It was so quick and easy to do. I’m going to do the same thing with the Christmas card swap cards that I still have from the past several years. I do enjoy looking through the cards, especially the hand made ones. So many of them are like little works of art.
