We're good on food & supplies. I made homemade chicken soup and froze it in case the 'Cron gets me. Going back to work (school, in person) Monday, so it's probably gonna get me there (even with the mask mandate).
But, we're pretty stocked on supplies.

Not really. We have a pretty good supply of food on hand, the only thing would be perishables like dairy and fresh veggies. I live in a large metro area so if one store is shut down because of low staffing levels, I can go across the street to a different store or a few miles away to another branch. But I also live in an area that won't do widescale involuntary shutdowns again--I'm not even sure our school district would because they are not set up for online learning like they were last year.

We had our chimney cleaned and fireplace checked over in the Fall to make sure it was safe to use in the case of something like the Texas freeze. That got me freaked out. I've also stocked more water than before. Overall I tend to have a fair amount of pantry items though the meals wouldn't be our favorites.

January is normally a pretty miserable month in North Dakota so we are always prepared for the snow and cold temps. I'm not too worried about shortages and there is no way this state will implement a lock down. But individual stores and restaurants have at times had to adjust their hours due to staffing and I expect that will probably get worse as COVID rears it's ugly head again. We have too many unvaccinated dumb wads here.

I haven’t left my house since 12/24 due to Snow/ice so we’ve been using what icee already had on hand. I’ll Restock this weekend and add a little extra just in case.

I have plenty of food here, it may not be my most preferred but I certainly won't starve.
My work's Covid policies puzzle me. We invested tens of thousands of dollars in work from home equipment to use it for approximately six whole months until everyone was required to be back in the office. Now we're not to stay home if we are vaccinated but a direct contact. Which means people that have spouses that have Covid right now are still required to come to work. Omicron is going to run through our office like crazy in this next week because of that. Because of that, I'm taking a few more steps to be prepared for getting sick because I figure it's an "if" not "when" for me.

I'm going to restock up on some stuff. I was going to stock up anyway and save some for pist divorce, this just gives me a better reason.

In the Seattle area it feels similar to the initial shut downs because we’ve had snow and ice here all week so restaurants and delivery services have been closed off and on. It’s really interesting reading the local social media pages. Apparently nobody has any food in their house and they don’t understand why UberEats won’t deliver. You’ve got your group of people who just can’t stay home, those who chastise others for going out when it’s not safe, and those who chastise for putting other people at risk by making them deliver Jimmy John’s because they didn’t prepare ahead.

I think we are good. I did just place a pickup for early tomorrow morning for milk, eggs, creamer snd a few other things that we are running low on. Hoping they don’t cancel. I’m hoping to go to Costco for a few things on sale next week. I am seeing places shutting down or closing some services locally right now but time will tell - mostly banks, Starbucks, and restaurants. I am not panicking this time but we have food and I don’t see us shutting down like last time.

I’ve been keeping a good stock of basic supplies, and I should be in pretty good shape even if there are shortages of things. The freezer and pantry closet and fridge are full. Living alone, I know I’d need to be prepared to isolate alone if I were sick/exposed. Add in the winter weather forecast, and I have lots of reasons to make sure I am as prepared as I can be.
I do have an urge to stay home more, as I feel there will be a wave of sickness - between holidays and traveling and the Omicron transmission rates, I think any of us who avoid it will be lucky.
My concerns are stronger for others, like my brother. He can’t stay home as much, he has to go to dialysis, and he has a couple medical procedures coming up that I need to take him to. Shortages and closures won’t impact me as much as they might impact him.

I was at QFC (on foot) this AM and it definitely had that Seattle-snowstorm empty-shelf thing going on. I have told my kids they eat what I can get on foot or they walk themselves to the store, because if you think I am carrying a case of soda a half-mile for your able-bodied teen self, you have another thing coming.

Well I still have all the bags of beans I bought at the beginning of this because it turns out none of us like beans. What don't you like about them? My family all likes beans but I can't stand them. It's the pasty texture. Are there beans that don't have that awful texture? I've found that I can deal with black beans in small quantities but kidney, pinto, lima beans? YUCK!

We’re pretty well stocked up. I’ve read about a few local stores that haven’t had reliable open hours because they have had staffing problems and a Target that only had self checkouts at times because they haven’t had any cashiers.

Believe it or not we are kind of low on toilet paper! hahaha We're down to two 6-packs which is lower than I like to go. I haven't been paying attention! So I'll be heading to Costco on Tuesday (senior hour from 9-10 so it's very uncrowded) to stock up on that. Otherwise I'm not worrying about anything else. I live in such a large metropolitan area that there's always another store around the corner. Plus, we have enough food in the house to last us for quite some time, even if it wouldn't necessarily be a complete meal.

Dh does most of the grocery shopping because he likes to cook. He also shops like we're prepping for an apocalypse with each grocery trip.
I'm fairly certain we have enough stocked up to feed half the state. 🙄

Our work was pretty much wiped out this last 2 weeks, except for 3 of us that haven’t gotten sick. We are all boosted too.,
So we closed all week, the 3 of us that were well went in and cleaned and organized and did what we could.
The business next to us closed too—they all got Covid really bad—but they refuse to be vaccinated.

I don't have a lot of space to really bulk buy a lot of stuff. I am hoping we'll be ok, and enough stuff will stay open to not cause big issues. I am getting my booster on Sunday, so I'm not particularly worried about getting Covid. I don't go into enough crowds. And even though it's more transmissible, the truth is just because you're exposed to something - i.e. in the same room with it - that doesn't inherently mean you'll definitely get it.
That said, I think I may well have had Covid in late February/early March of 2020.
ETA: The only shortages we've had generally is staffing, particularly at the fast food places. It's not about the Covid benefits; it's a case of people who work retail came to realize, when Covid hit, that they really do get treated badly, it's a tough job, and it's not worth the low wages.

We didn’t have any buying issues in our area before, so I don’t expect any. I’m always well stocked anyway, so my habits haven’t changed. I always grab good sales and can make meals out of this and that.

My dh is preparing for something in the future. We have a large stash of dehydrated foods etc.for an emergency. Not so great for keto though. We've tried to go through our last stash of shutdown foods. We tend to toss more than finish since we don't have a pantry and if I don't see it then I don't have it.

I generally used to like beans, but after a year of whole food, plant-based eating, beans and lentils both make me sad. Yes, it’s the texture. And I stopped eating that way in early 2020 and I still don’t want to eat any more beans! Lol

I live in a highly populated area, outside of Philly. We have a ton of stores to choose from. I don’t worry about food and toiletries, I’m fairly well stocked.
I get nervous about medications. My 5 yr old just had brain surgery in July l, and still has to take his Epilepsy meds, and a few others. He needs his meds, and I can’t stuck up on those. My other son also takes a variety of meds too.

I live in Florida - land of freedom, tourism, and Covid denial. There won't be any government shutdowns/lockdowns here, I'm sure. I suspect staffing issues will cause intermittent business shutdowns and store shelves are already showing supply chain issues and have been for a while.
We're pretty stocked up and I'm planning to eat from the pantry/freezer in January anyway. Cutting back on going into stores etc... though. DD will still go to school (she's vaccinated and masked - although many aren't), DH will go to work (ditto), and I'm planning to stay home as much as possible (I'm boostered and double masking)

Even with her IgG medicine. 1 med had to come from a different brand and the only difference was taste (more fruity than sour), but that has happened even before the pandemic. So I wouldn't worry too much.

Just my own personal observation - people don't give a shit anymore.
I work at a fairly high end day spa (we're talking 120.00 an hour massages and facials at a minimum) and we are booked solid for days. It used to be that you could call the day before and get an appointment - now you have to call a week before. People have literally no qualms about spending an hour (or typically 90 minutes) with a stranger in a small room.
Many are new clients (but our regulars are coming in all the time) and you would never know we're in the middle of a surge during a pandemic.
So, I doubt many people are preparing for this "blizzard" given that I have to hand out masks to the people who come in without them like they are bead necklaces on Mardi Gras.

i like to buy on sale and have shelves in the basement where i can store non perishables so when pasta sauce is on sale, i will buy 6 or 8. i have always shopped that way so nothing changed with the pandemic.
like others, we may be making meals out of crackers and cheese and canned corn, if it come to that, but we do have plenty of food.
