Happy New Year Pea friends! 🥳 I have a vague recollection that it was decided we would post the Sketchy Saturday sketches on the GS board this year, in an effort to encourage more participation. grammadee is that correct? If not, please move this back to the Challenge board. This is the sketch for Saturday January 1. It is a double page Sketch Support sketch. The banners made me think of Celebration. And here is my layout. I used the photos that I took last night on NYE. The lighting in the restaurant is awful for photos, so much red! Well, it is called Red Spice Road after all! I decided to use gold and silver papers and embellishments to try and tone down the red a bit. I used the 'Holiday Sparkle' kit by The Digital Press designers.
I hope you're able to find some inspiration here, and give this one a go!

Sorry I missed this before, AussieMeg. Great sketch to start the new year! Tomorrow I am printing December photos and then spending some time with justjac at a table in the back of our LSS to glue some of those pic's down on pages. So excited! I am printing off the SS challenges I missed doing in November/December and have this one printed as well. High hopes, I know, but a scrapper can dream...

Here is my take on the sketch. I split the two landscape photo spots into four 3x4 smaller pic's and changed the sizes of the photos on the second page, but I think I can still recognize the sketch in my LO.
POINTS: two pages created & shared (4) W-1 Sketchy Saturday (5), M-1 eight photos for Donna challenge (8), P-1 foil cs (1), P-3 inked edges (1) P-5 journal card (1), P-7 border, letter stickers (2), P-14 tiny pearls (1), P-16 foiled cs at least two years old/newer holiday lines (1), S/I-1 snowflake paper (1), S/I-2 seven rectangles (7), S/I-9 rounded corners (4), S/I-10 three circles (3), C/M-5 gold and silver (4), C/M-13 black background (2), T-6 layers (3), T-7 letter dies (1), T-11 six torn edges (6), T-12 five letters (5), W/T-2< 24 words (2), W/T-4 (1), Th-1 December '21 (16), Th-6 (1), N/S-3 five patterns (5)N/S-4 four sizes (4), N/S-5 five pic's first page (2). Total: 91.

Bloom where you are planted by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr Here’s mine. I was thinking of substituting the banners for flowers, but ultimately decided to leave it simple. I’m happy with this layout and thank you for the sketch! I showed them layout to my mom, I think she was happy and surprised that I documented her roses.

great sketch - I'm not 100% happy with my interpretation but ...it's done. I struggled to pick papers that worked with the colours in the photos

This sketch was perfect for the ride pictures from our vacation. There were more pictures than the sketch called for so I added an extra row of them on the right hand page. Thanks for the inspiration!! Super fun by Christine C68, on Flickr
