As often observed on threads linking new releases, many manufacturers have become formulaic, predictable, & repetitive. Please share new (or retired) tools, embellishments, colors or color combinations, patterns, themes, storage, etc. that you need or want to be introduced (or available again). TIA.
Wishing you a healthy, safe, & creative new year!

I've been wanting a "We R Memory Keepers storage project cart". I've been reading the reviews on various websites and they are not good.....multiple complaints about the quailty, as well as multiple reports of not easy to assemble because of the poor merchandise quality.
Now I am rethinking my plan to purchase. I have a visa gift card to use, and am not finding anything similar. Other than bakery carts and trays (that they put pastries, doughnuts, etc...) on, but they are all much higher in price.
I really like the style of the we r memory cart, because each tray can be removed from the rack. It all stacks in the rack so nicely, it's a space saver. Too bad there are so many complaints about the product. I have thought about making the purchase (Joanns has the best price with coupon) , and if I put it together and it's crappy....return it, but not sure how I would get refunded if I used a visa gift card.....because I wouldn't want a store gift card as a replacement.

What I do in that situation, I use my atm card to buy the item I want, and use the gift card to buy stuff I would normally be buying with my atm card, like groceries or stuff at Costco (toilet paper, laundry soap, etc) There is almost zero chance I am returning those items. Does that make sense?

I'm not even sure there are new ideas anymore for product.
What else could they sell us that they haven't before?
I would love something new, just for the sake of having something exciting to look forward to.

Prices for the first two bakers pan racks in this link don’t seem bad - you’d need to add trays or pans. www.webstaurantstore.com/45131/sheet-pan-racks.html?filter=type:half-heightI had a full size (tall) bakers pan rack for years for fused glass projects. So useful. I’d also be concerned about WRMK. Since American Crafts bought them out quality on some items hasn’t impressed me. And the two times I contacted CS, once for info once about a product problem, they weren’t helpful. If you have wall space another way to go would be bracket and standard shelving with shelves very close together and a pan or tray on each shelf. The shelves could be just an inch or so wider than the trays.

I still want dog themed Thickers. I especially like the ones with the chipboard top and foam bottom. Those are my absolute favorite. Actually I would like these thickers in a variety of themes/icons. Kind of like the ephemera of Thickers.

One new thing that’s already out that I have, though can’t use it yet (broken arm) is a magnetic glass mat - white or black*. It uses neodymium magnets so they hold very well. And it comes in different sizes. (I’ve used the Tim Holtz glass mat for a long time and like it a lot.) For stenciling or holding cardstock in place it’s impressive, at least from what I’ve seen on Mary Polanco’s videos. Very nice people too. The contrast of gray lines against the white wasn’t sufficient for my bad eyes, and the owner worked with me to figure out the % of black to give more contrast. I happen to have a gray scale like photographers use - a strip of cardboard that goes from white to black in 10% increments - and he had the specs of what % they used originally. Since then he’s added a note on the website that if you want a different contrast to let them know. I can’t wait to use it. It looks nice in any case! www.glassboardstudio.com/collections/glass-craft-mats*ETA Or aqua, which looks pretty but would throw off seeing colors accurately if working on the board when selecting colors of anything - cardstock, embellishments, pastes, when coloring, etc.

I was also looking at this recently and it sounds like if you get a good one it's very useful, but some of the plastic trays and attachment pieces were warped and holes not machined correctly. I'd be annoyed to go to the trouble of putting one together and then finding that the trays wouldn't sit flat/secure. I think more people leave a review if they're annoyed than if they're satisfied so maybe the odds of getting a good one are better than they look. IDK. It's a great organizing idea for pile-people.

My friend has two of them. You do have to think when you are assembling them. But she has no complaints on either of them. Another friend got one two she put it together this week. I haven't heard any issues from her.

I wish manufacturers would include supplemental alpha sheets with common vowels and consonants.
I’d also like more relevant, real-life word strips

Same, I think they'd have to make the typewriter an electric typewriter because those type a bit easier. I wish manufacturers would include supplemental alpha sheets with common vowels and consonants. I’d also like more relevant, real-life word strips Yes to all these too. Some of the word strips are too cutesy for me and I end up cutting them up and making my own phrases.

I'd love to see a scrapbook or paper line for the Golden Girls - papers, stickers, embellishments. But I dobut I'll see that!
I'd also like to see more video game themed stuff for older teens. Maybe some guy paper that isn't super childish looking.

Does that make sense? I do this all of the time with gift cards from stores like Target. I buy something we would normally get there with the gift card and use the money at a craft store that I saved from using the gift card at Target. Now if I could just do the same thing with Starbucks gifts cards. I could have outfitted a whole new craft room with those gift cards (and I don't like coffee or really anything from Starbucks).

I want a craft room genie to set up my craft room just the right way for me.
Why isn’t that a service you can pay for? I’m moving and I’d really just like ( after I settle in ) to just walk in my room & craft. The choosing and setting up seems so over whelming.

I love the look of these too, but I really can't justify changing from my Tim Holtz glass mat to this. I recently bought the WeRMK stencil mat for stenciling, and it's far FAR better than the glass mat as it holds the stencil and paper in place without tape or magnets, and the ink works so much better on that *slightly* cushioned surface. If you are someone who uses stencils - I recommend it. I want a typewriter new and cute like the WRMK one's were, but one that types easily Me too - I actually don't even mind if it's hard to type on as I have strong hands (piano hands!) but I have NO place to keep one, so I've stayed away. Do you remember the IBM Selectric typewriters? That's what I had as a teenager - it's still the strike mechanism, but it was electric so easier than manual? Wish I still had mine! (Actually, bet my mom does have it, but that's 3000 miles away).

If you are someone who uses stencils - I recommend it. I love stencils - mainly with pastes, some inks and other mediums - and tried a silicone mat because a favorite youtuber uses one. The slight softness wasn’t my cuppa, but maybe it’s just what you’re used to. It’s been a glass mat since the Tim one came out, and before that a thin, hard cutting board. And before that was a Ranger teflon mat (sheet) taped to a self healing cutting mat, so had a little more give, and I switched to the cutting board for more firmness. Like mattresses, which is right - firm or soft? I bought a smaller IBM self correcting Selectric. The seller refurbished it and painted it very pale turquoise (my request) and it’s fun. It sits on a little antique metal table on wheels but actually does take up a good deal of space. Those are what I typed on at work before computers!

I really wish there was some sort of adjustable banner/strip/rectangle die. In my mind, I picture four dies that are straight lines. Each has a bump/notch system so you can adjust the height and length of the die, then lock them into place and cut. Basically a "build your own rectangle" sort of die. I would especially love if there was a way to do this with a stitched edge. I love the clean (and stitched) edge that a metal die provides and I use a lot of patterned papers with cut-apart sentiments/tags/cards and often, I don't have the exact right size/proportion to use with a pre-printed element.
I know there are workarounds with existing dies (and I use them), but I think a system like this would be so much easier! Unfortunately, I'm not sure it would actually be possible, but I can dream!

I mainly make cards and so I make my own sentiment embellishments. I wish there were nested bracketed label dies that are smaller in increments (about 2mm bigger) so it creates a small border behind the sentiment. Even though the nested dies from Spellbinders are lovely, the size increments are too big and go up to sizes I never use. I've seen a set from Anna Griffin which is specifically for making bracketed sentiment embellishments, but I can't seem to find it in the UK.
I prefer using a guillotine to a rotary trimmer as I find the cuts are cleaner. But, and I think this is a common issue, the cuts aren't always even because the blade pulls the card/ paper when it's cutting, so it's a few mms out, even if I press the plastic guard down.
I also broke my left wrist years ago and it's weakened it it significantly, so I find it hard to hold paper/ card in place when cutting. Especially if I'm mass producing, it gets tiring and begins to hurt after a while.
So I had this idea of the plastic guard having a magnetic strip on it, and being able to place a magnet underneath the board under the strip area, so it clamps down on the paper/ card. Then you remove the magnet from underneath to release the paper.
I have a Dahle rotary trimmer and guillotine, and the base is metal. And so I've been able to place strong strip magnets on card and paper to hold it in place and it's worked great. I really love my Dahle guillotine because it can cut through a lot of paper/ card in one go and I use it to make my card bases.

What percentage did you end up using? It is just a dark gray? Or almost black?

I would like to see more digital offerings but also understand why we don’t.
Not so much a product, but I wish a streamlined inventory app existed that would work across devices and browsers. I use an app on my phone, but it’s not usable on my laptop.
