Apparently a lot of Starbucks in our area are closed today. Are they open where you live?

I just looked on the app and the only one I frequent that is closed is one in an office building downtown.

Only the one on the college campus in my town and one that is under refurbishment. But a bunch are doing drive thru only.

The one 2 streets over is open. Not sure about the other 9. Yes...we have 10 Starbucks.

How strange. Most of the ones within a 10 mile radius all say either “mobile ordering not available” or “closed”. One person on Twitter said they placed a mobile order and got to the store and it was closed.

All ours are open. They do occasionally get hit by covid surges and have to close locations. - parent of a barista and adopted parent of 2 other baristas (ok it's not offical, but I feed them enough)

Total aside, but if you're in this position - please, please don't yell at the poor baristas next time you're in the store! Send a scathing email to headquarters and ask for a refund, but please realize, those people making your coffee had nothing to do with corporate allowing mobile orders when the store was closed and have no ability to refund your money for an order that they can't see.

Why do we need 3 Starbucks on the same street that you can cross the street and walk to all 3. 2 are cattycorner and the other is in the shopping center.

Parent of a "barista" (she actually just got.a promotion and is now a shift lead) and ours are open today. My daughter's store was open on both Christmas and New Years Eve/Day also. But like others said if you're area was hit hard with Covid they may have had to close because they don't have enough employees, we had some stores do that back in the beginning of the pandemic.
On another note I may be avoiding Starbucks for awhile after finding out they modified their covid response. My daughter was exposed to covid (both her dad and his girlfriend's whole family whom the kids spent a bunch of the holidays with all tested positive in the past week) and her manager still had her come in and work. Didn't even ask that she get tested first.

I’m sure some of them are. We have hundreds in the area and we’ve had lots of restaurants and coffee shops closed temporarily during to lack of healthy staff over the last few weeks.

Its definitely a staffing issue due to people out with Covid. In general, Starbucks is open today. Depends on the employees at your location. Ours closed early due to staff shortages randomly last Sunday evening. And ours is still following the 10 day quarantine period. - another parent of a Starbucks barista

I actually picked up an iced coffee about an hour ago, in the drive through. But you made me curious, so I checked my app, and a few of them in my area are closed! Staffing issues, is my guess.

I'm sure that's what's happening.

I just tried to order pizza for the football game, and the pizza place is not doing delivery, carry out only due to staffing issues.
I think we are going to keep seeing this for at least the next few months.

The tap house connected to the movie theater we go to was closed today due to COVID staffing issues. We went to see The King’s Man, but did it without our beer.
This is probably going to be a regular occurrence until Omicron passes through - I would guess through February.

I think most of ours are but I know at least one had closed their lobby and only doing drive thru due to staffing this last week. I noticed a long line at one around 1 today but honestly didn't look at the others.

I drove by the one closest to my house last week and they were gone! I don't know when they shut down, but now that they are gone, I want a coffee!

The current guidelines say you don’t have to isolate if you’re exposed but asymptomatic, just mask for 10 days and get tested on day 5. Not saying I like it, but that might be why.

So, my son wears a mask at work. He was exposed (to me), kept him in, never had any symptoms, never got Covid, Starbucks will NOT let him back to work until day 11! I'm already out & free and he cannot work, and he was never sick. They said they are not following the updated CDC guidelines. lol Whatever. Clearly making it up as they go...

Both Starbucks in my town were closed today. Good thing I tried to order through the app before I left the house because I was in the mood for the egg bites and a blond roast. One said it was opening tomorrow morning; the other said it was not opening until Tuesday.

I don’t normally frequent Starbucks but it doesn’t surprise me. We have a Raising Canes in our area that we go to once in a while. It’s about a 20 minute drive from our house and the line is always crazy long, I timed it once and it takes at least 15 minutes to get to the front of the line when it’s all the way out to the road which it typically is. The last time we went there we wanted to do a mobile order so we wouldn’t have to wait so long for our food.
The app kept shutting down and it wouldn’t let us do a mobile order. We parked and tried to go inside to order instead of waiting in the drive through line, but the doors were locked and there was a note taped to the door that said, “We don’t have enough staff at the moment to take mobile or counter service orders. Please go through the drive through to place your order.”
People on NextDoor were complaining recently that the Dollar Tree here was always closed when it was supposed to be open, likely due to not having enough staff in general coupled with too many people being out sick.
I think this is what we should be prepared to expect over the coming months.

crazy4scraps That happened to me a couple of weeks ago at Panda Express. Drive-Thru only. It was a mess because that Panda Express is not situated in a way to handle a lot of cars. And the cars In the drive-thru we’re blocking the sign that said “Drive-thru only” and cars were squeezing by to get to the parking lot, and then they had to squeeze back out. Big mess!

Mine was open yesterday but I know other places have been closed due to lack of staffing or Covid cases. As someone else said, I think we’re going to be seeing a lot more of this in the coming months.

I wonder if I’m the only one here who doesn’t have a Starbucks within 50 miles of me. We have a couple of local coffee shops and that’s it.
