Hey all. It's me - zingermack.
Still loving this place and all the help, information and entertainment the peas add to life.
But with the new year, it felt like time for a new start.
Hope you all had a lovely start to 2022 and that we ALL have a healthy, happy year ahead.

I always feel some kind of weird admiration for people who create a new Pea name, and lose their post count etc. I don't know why, but it would really bother me having to go back to being a One Post Wonder!

I am asking this in the nicest way possible. Can you help me understand why you decided to delete your old self, and disassociate yourself from everything you’ve said and all the threads you’ve started in the past? Does this mean that you’re “redefining your pea persona” as well? I genuinely interested and slightly confused, thank you!

Hey, hi there!! I'm asking not to be bitchy, just a genuine curiosity why you'd start over unless you're planning on doing something different.

You know, I can understand wanting a new start. What I’m not crazy about is deleting the old, so when we read previous posts and threads it’s confusing, and in a way, lacking context without an identifier for the poster. |

As multiple Peas have said in previous threads, it is not appreciated. I’ll be honest: I lose a lot of respect for someone when they can’t stand behind their previous posts. I mean, if you REALLY want to be a new you, change going forward. Obfuscating the “old” you by deleting your account and creating a new one, repeatedly, doesn’t allow anyone to actually see the difference. And announcing it every single time seems a bit drama-whorish. |

And announcing it every single time seems a bit drama-whorish. To my knowledge, Zingermack has not repeatedly hair flipped and deleted her account and started a new one. That is Krazyscrapper (I think that was the first name)/Fred/Freddie/Onelasttime. I will agree, it rubs me the wrong way when someone deletes their account so all their old posts say "deleted". If you intend to stay you should just stop posting with your old name, keep it active and then post under the new ID. I do however appreciate that she identified herself in her OP. |

You might want to ask yourself instead “why are the posting habits of people on a board so important to me?” The answers you get from a little bit of self-reflection might be interesting. I already did my self-reflection and I’m comfortable with my choices. Also don’t feel that it’s required for me to share other than that it felt really good to start over after 2000+ threads and 20,000+ posts. You’ll notice I’m not the one going around challenging other peoples posting habits. You do you. I’ll do me. |
