Of course - my comment was the OP was inaccurate that they wanted the feds to pay for $1 billion of treatment - they wanted to circumvent the feds. Facts matter. As I said in my post, I don't for a second think the feds should allow a free for all of states trying to buy up all the treatments, doesn't mean posting false information is ok. From the articles that I read, it's unclear if Florida is asking for the federal government to give them treatments or asking for the feds to release control of the supply. I think he's asking for both. I agree that the $1 billion number is inaccurate, that's just the money Florida set aside. Honestly, I think DeSantis is trying to distract and deflect from the fact that he was MIA for 2 weeks during Florida's worst spike. He was taking his wife to cancer treatments but they found time to go to a football game? We have no mask mandate, no official quarantine or isolation mandates, but we need the treatment? I have no words for what a colossal fuckhead Ron DeathSentence is. Okay, I have a few apparently. It’s even more galling that he’s using the old people of his state as reasoning for it. He does not give a shit about them otherwise. I don’t want anyone to die from this, but I wonder if he’s killed enough of them there to really hurt his re-election chances yet. Ain't that the truth. Why does he want it? Regeneron is not effective against Omicron. Aside from that, using it, while legislating against any mitigation efforts is reprehensible. He (and republicans like him ) don’t give a flying fuck if anyone takes it, gets better, doesn’t die. He and his buddies make money on it by getting the state/federal government to bankroll it. Republicans are fucking grifters and nothing more. |
