So I've decided that I need a laminator, and am thinking of asking for one for Christmas. The problem is, I have no idea what I'm shopping for. I'll mainly be using it for laminating stuff for my planner - mostly scrapbooking papers and cardstock. So, I'm looking for an affordable laminator with refills that aren't insanely priced. Also, if I could buy it at Michael's or JoAnn's (so I could use a coupon), that would be great, too. Any suggestions? TIA for your help! :-)

I bought the cheapest letter sized scanner I could find at Staples, and it's been great. The machine cost me $29.95 and 100 laminating pouches cost about $12. I did toss up as to whether to go with a more expensive (name) brand but in the end I decided to try the cheaper one to see how much I'd use it. It's still going strong 2 years later. The only thing I would say is that it takes longer to warm up than the more expensive brand we have at work but hey, that's no problem.

I have the Scotch brand Thermal Laminator. I bought it on Amazon when it was on sale for about $20. The refills are at JoAnn's and Michael's so I use coupons when I can. It's a great Laminator and I would buy it again at full price.

The Scotch one goes on sale for around $20 pretty regularly. It has very good reviews.

I've been debating between the Scotch one and the Purple Cow one. It's good to know that the Scotch one goes on sake a lot, so I may just wait. Hopefully it will go on sale for Cyber Monday. :-)

I got a Scotch one from Amazon when it was $14.99 on a lightening deal. But get this - I've never used it! I just checked my Amazon account and it was Dec 2011 that I bought it. :embarrassed: It's still in the plastic wrap! Someday I'm going to need one, right?
