I have spent the better part of my day driving to an out-of-town funeral and was listening to the Simple Scrapper podcast...which has made my wonder about the Peas. 1. Where do you hang out (for scrappy inspiration) besides 2Peas? Any message boards? What YouTube channels do you watch? Patreon? I joined Patreon for Krystal Idunate's channel and have subbed the last two months or so. I like it but I am looking for more crafty scrappers on over there. 2. Are you a member of Simple Scrapper? I was on the DT for awhile years ago and honestly, kinda lost track of them for the last few years. I listen to the pod cast but haven't checked out their website in awhile. Pretty sure I will look into joining over there (at least for a little while) and see what inspiration hits. Edit: its $25/mo and I just can't bring myself to spend that right now. 3. On the Simple Scrapper podcast they were talking about 'Quiet Co-Working' (or something like that) zoom crops they host once a week. You chat for the first few minuets then get busy quietly for awhile and do your own thing. Its during the week on a set time. To me, this is genius. Crops on the weekend are hit or miss for me because of family obligations but I could definitely schedule a crop in the week and get a ton done. I am really interested in figuring out a way for me to be more productive during the week. 4. I am for sure going to start blogging again. I finally figured out my password and I am going to make it happen. (this is from another thread where we discussed blogging). I miss having a 'home' to blog and have everything all together. Instagram just doesn't do it for me. 5. Target has a new line of clear, affordable, organizing containers and t hey have one listed in store as 12x12. Its not really that size though. Its like 11.8 x 11.8 and its just short of fitting scrapbook paper. Bummer. Totally a missed opportunity on their part. 6. Do you have a notebook where you keep a running list of things you want to do scrappy wise? I haven't but I am going to think about it. The Trello app seems to be a popular place to keep lists but I haven't looked into it. I have noticed that I am much more productive scrappy-wise if I have a list and a set plan on when I can play. If I leave it up to 'whenever I can' I have realized I don't make time. I will read, play on the internet or go somewhere instead of being creative. That is all, lol. Thanks for reading my brain dump. I am now back home and cleaning up my scrapbook room. Its a complete mess and I can't do anything until I get it tidy.

I'm so sorry for your loss. SCrappy inspiration - mostly here but I follow a couple of FB pages/groups as well. I'm not a YouTube person really - I like to read not watch. Simple Scrapper - no but I'll check them out Quiet co-working - our google crops here are like that - some folks are more chatty, some less, most are working on scrappy things, some just pop in to chat. We've done at least one weekday one - I'm happy to try and join in if we have another - I'm pretty busy on weekends also but weekdays...I'm usually home alone. grammadee nylene I'm not sure who else is sometimes available during the week? Please share your blog when you do start up - I like blogs more than instagram also. Bummer on the target stuff I keep my running list of scrappy (and other) projects on Habitica.com - my girls use it also for school and other stuff. Good luck with the scrapbook room - do check out angel97701 's organisation thread on the challenge board if you need ideas or want to chat about progress

My favorite YT channels tend to be ones that do mini albums or other paper crafting. For scrapbooking I enjoy Missy Whidden & Shimelle. I don’t follow anyone on Patreon. There have been threads previously where people list their favorite YT channels. It’s worth the search as there’s been some great ones suggested!
I joined Simple Scrapper for 1 month last year in Aug/Sept. I was most interested in the Zoom crops as I really enjoy crafting online with others. I found that most of the Zoom crops were short in length (1-2 hours), which isn’t my preference. The site has a lot of content; with a heavy emphasis on the storytelling aspect of scrapbooking. I’m not big on journaling, so it wasn’t a great fit for me. Everyone was nice and they were welcoming to new users.
I would LOVE to have an online crop during the week. It was my intention in February to see if anyone else would be interested in this on a regular basis.
For years now I’ve been buying planners and using them as notebooks. This year, I bought a notebook! 🤣 I actually bought two. One is the skinny/tall, half size version of the Happy Planner notebook specifically to help me keep track of crafty projects. I do use the Notes app on my phone, but I like a paper list for some things because I like to sketch and draw dimensions, too.
ETA: I’m very sorry for your loss.

1. Inspiration: YouTube algorithm, mostly. Jessica Grace, Laurie Alberts, Sarah Swann, My Little Journal/Heba. A little bit of Instagram but I don’t find it super return-friendly. I save ideas but don’t get back to them because the interface isn’t great and it’s so mobile-oriented. 2. Thinking heavily on joining Simple Scrapper to create accountability and project planning, more than ideas. Meant to decide over the holidays but ended up focusing on a different scrap project. 3. 'Quiet Co-Working' - I like the idea of committing to time regularly - I haven’t been good about that. Not sure if that format will be a good fit for me as the times seem to be mostly during my work day. I’ve not had good experiences at public crops anyway. 4. I unpublished my old blog during early lockdown and moved all my posts to DayOne app, as I realized I was really blogging for myself and I enjoy getting the daily history updates on what we were up to in our lives years ago. 5. Target - I stole the idea to use the little matte plastic stacking trays from Jessica Grace. I find them helpful for sorting and separating small embellishments. These, but also in smaller sizes in store. www.target.com/p/plastic-bathroom-tray-brightroom/-/A-53308541?preselect=53174481#lnk=sametab6. Notebook - I should, but I end up scribbling on sticky notes or whatever is handy. I repurposed an A5 Leuchtturm and started some idea gathering there last year but didn’t continue with it. Most of my focus right now is on photo and memorabilia organization, so it’s mostly lists to break down the mountain of work to keep my sanity. I spent most of 2011-2013 devising digital idea organization and realized I was spending all my scrap time organizing and stopped. Still have the folders of scanned magazine ideas and saved LOs from galleries like 2Peas. My room is chaos. I purged 3 large Rubbermaid bins of our kids school memorabilia, and just as I thought I was done, and moved on to art/writing samples I had pulled out, DH found 2 more boxes he had squirreled away somewhere. I always wanted to do it as it came in but he kept stacking it in boxes every time we had a entertaining event so it’s a hot mess and the required decision-making is exhausting. First day of my cycle and I’m too pooped to touch it yet. Maybe to tomorrow.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope thinking of all these scrapbook-related questions helped to make the drive more tolerable, mom . 1. Where do you hang out (for scrappy inspiration) besides 2Peas? Any message boards? What YouTube channels do you watch? Patreon?I am either here or on IG lurking for some inspiration. The clean, elegant-ish minimalist style I still favour doesn't have much appeal so I'm kind of stuck doing it on my own these days. Several have gone quiet. I would love to see what Vanessa Documented would be doing these days and despite promising to get back in the game last year on IG, she ended up disappearing again (and taking down the gram in which she announced her return). There really aren't many scrappers out there I can immediately draw inspiration from so I love the cosiness of 2PR where everyone just does their own thing and there's no echo chamber effect. 2. Are you a member of Simple Scrapper?Nope, I'm not. I feel like the website doesn't give you a decent peek into what is happening behind the paywall so I've never really bothered and decided to sign up. I also find it quite expensive with no options for different levels of membership. 3. On the Simple Scrapper podcast they were talking about 'Quiet Co-Working' (or something like that) zoom crops they host once a week. You chat for the first few minuets then get busy quietly for awhile and do your own thing. Its during the week on a set time.I think this is genius for those who've enjoyed studying with friends at uni and in school. Especially if you're in the same time zone. And if you have a dedicated craft space. I don't see this working for me considering I usually have to move at some point while I'm working on a scrappy project because of our WFH situation (and no craft room). Plus, I'm on Euro time. But it's a fun way to get the crop motivation back while being socially distant for one reason or another for those who lost this habit. Again, I've never met another scrapbooker IRL so... 4. I am for sure going to start blogging again. I finally figured out my password and I am going to make it happen.Sounds great! I look forward to following your returns to your blog nest. I still love a good blog and the insight it offers into the sharer's mind. 5. Target has a new line of clear, affordable, organizing containers and they have one listed in store as 12x12. Its not really that size though.F u, Target (pronounced the French way, of course, despite the fact that Target doesn't exist here). 6. Do you have a notebook where you keep a running list of things you want to do scrappy wise?I don't have a notebook dedicated just to scrappy stuff since I don't scrap much but I do have a section in my annual bujo-style notebook for scrap projects + MEGAAA crop/DD thread prep as that usually takes quite some time planning (I know it doesn't look like it). I also have a digital notebook in my Evernote dedicated to planning all things scrapbooking.

Ohh thanks for the info on the crops being kinda short in length. I could do long or short time wise...but I really like the aspect of the no talking they mentioned. Are they really quiet? I get side tracked with chatting usually during the crops here (which is fine sometimes...but othertimes I need to be kept on task. LOL I am a teachers nightmare!) I am totally in for a week day crop and bonus points if its regular and has a set time/day so I can plan around it. I am home alone all day during the week and I am missing out on 'seeing' others and what they are working on.

Most of my scrap inspiration comes from YouTube. My Christmas present from DH was a tv for my scrap room. Now I can watch on something other than my small iPad. If I’m scrapping I usually have some kind of video going. I like Shimelle because she’s super chatty and I almost always am inspired by something she does. Even if her style is not completely your thing, I think she is very educational.
I have thought about joining Simple Scrapper, but am uncertain how much I would get out of it. I have been meaning to listen to some of the podcasts.
Im not a list keeper at all. I scrap whatever I’m in the mood for. I print all my photos on my PictureMate so it’s easier not to plan ahead. I print and go!

I know there used to be loads of good resources kept there but I am not willing to pay that at this point. Even if they have good crops, lol. I hadn't thought about evernote. I downloaded it one time for my stamps years ago and never updated my stamp list. Go figure. I have always been an 'on the fly' type documenter and its worked well in the past as I always had something to scrapbook with my kids growing up and having things. Now that they're adults, I am ready to really tackle some of the stories I haven't told. I love the idea of using an app to keep the list to tell as I could add to it anywhere I was (like in bed). But usually I do love a good paper list so.....decisions need to be made.

I used to be the same way re: lists. But as my boys have grown up I am finding more time to document the stuff from my past (pre-kids). Who knows. I might actually hate using a list!

I did coworking a couple of weeks ago. I loved it. It’s great to chat and then get to work. Everyone is still there but there is a timer going so you stay focused for that period. Then you chat some more and get to work. I loved it and need to look into doing more.
I also sun to Krystal’s Patreon. I like to scrapbook alongside her lives. It helps keep me motivated and I like chatting with everyone. I probably chat too much. It’s been great getting to know people.
Also I have a tiny notebook I put ideas in for pages and sketches. I don’t let too many ideas gather in it. If I run through my current ideas and don’t so something I just tear out the page and move on. I’m a very in the moment scrapper and like new ideas so having a notebook filled with old ideas doesn’t inspire me.

1 - mainly instagram. I'm not much of a you tube user. maybe I should browse through you tube more. 2 - nope. 3 - I like this idea. I've wondered about joining in google or zoom crops but I don't know people (in online crops) well and feel like it would be awkward? Sometimes one of my daughter's will come downstairs to my craft area and paint while I do scrapbooking. Not a lot of chatting but I love that time together. 4 - I used to blog. I'm sure no one read it but me! 5 - ooh, I love new storage ideas. need to check them out at target. still organizing my crafty area. 6 - yes I have two. one that keeps track of daily photos/events by date/month. I use it for PL printing/journaling. I also have a notebook that holds layout and mini book ideas, keeps a list of projects I want to do or finish. I prefer writing out ideas as opposed to an app. Plus I use it to sketch or draw out ideas.

As sleepingbooty said above I am one of those who use to do group studying in the library. Sometimes I just like someone there kind of to keep me accountable. It was really good and fun.I’m trying to use the membership more. They do so much and I don’t participate in enough of it.

I've wondered about joining in google or zoom crops but I don't know people (in online crops) well and feel like it would be awkward? I felt awkward about joining in the crops here but when I did join, everyone was super nice and welcoming and it was okay I didn't talk much. And it's usually only a couple or a handful online at a time, so it's not too overwhelming that way either. I encourage you to jump in and give it a try.

I don't get any scrapbook info from anyplace other than here. I get inspired by the photos and the product. I used to like blogs and wish there were more of them. Many of my former favorite bloggers went to instagram and it's not the same.

Sorry you had to make a long drive to a funeral, mom. Interesting that you did all that thinking while on the road. I often get my best scrappy ideas while driving. Sorry about the storage. I often get confused when shopping on line, and never know if the measurement is the inside or the outside dimensions. I hang out either here or over at Scrap Happy, but don't spend alot of time there unless they are hosting an event like LOAD. They have live crops on a regular basis. I don't attend very often, but I think justjac is a regular for those. They also host a daytime class at least once a week. Our own on line virtual crops are pretty lay back. People are greeted when they join in, and there is a bit of chit chat, but also lots of quiet time just to do your own thing. Lots of advice when asked for it, and love for each other's finished projects. msupea, you would be more than welcome to join, and it's nice to put a face and a voice to the pea name. Linda, Ryann, nylene, and anyone else who is interested, I would be happy to make a regular weekday morning date, say on a Wednesday.

I enjoy our weekend chats - they are just hard for me to make a lot of times. It occurred to me that if I used my weekdays for efficiently for scrapping, I would get more done. My volunteering has slowed way down so I am home (or at least not committed to family things) all day during the week. I could do a Wednesday if we set it up. DH was driving so I had plenty of time to day dream and think earlier today. He's not much of a talker so there wasn't much else to do as we couldn't even get an XM signal where we were at -- so no internet on my phone to play with. I haven't heard of Scrap Happy (actually, I have seen y'all talk about LOAD and Calvin Ball but never knew what it was). I might check them out at some point.

I'm sorry for your loss Mom.
I spend most of my time here, but I'm also in a bunch of fb groups. There's a wide range of styles, and a lot of them aren't really my thing, but I often enjoy reading the conversations which is why I stay. That said, I really hate it when someone shares the same layout in like 6 different groups so I just see the same page over and over again. I also like scrolling mindlessly through the stuff insta recommends, I've seen some really gorgeous pages this way, although I don't typically follow anyone new.
I don't have a notebook of ideas, but I do have a bunch of lists in various places, including on my computer and on little bits of paper shoved in drawers, so I'd probably benefit from one central list. I find I work on things like childhood stories during sketchtember, and will stick to either everyday or travel stories the rest of the year. The times that I can't work out what to scrap next are few, although I always have projects on the go, so I think that time wasted on the internet is probably not really wasted after all.

Sorry for your loss. This is my only online scrapbook place, I deleted Facebook after being on it for 14 years. I appreciate stand-alone, specific boards such as this.
I keep a journal that I write art ideas in.

Sorry for your loss, mom. I get most of my inspiration here, IG and YT. No Patreon. No Simple Scrapper (except her podcast once in a while). I use IG and YT in "search" mode - I usually put in a search term and see what turns up. I like it better that way - always find interesting things.

I'm very sorry for your loss.
1. Where do you hang out (for scrappy inspiration) besides 2Peas? Any message boards? What YouTube channels do you watch? Patreon? Really, just here and Instagram. I like seeing finished layouts, but I'm not usually so interested in the process, so a snapshot on IG is perfect for me.
2. Are you a member of Simple Scrapper?... Edit: its $25/mo and I just can't bring myself to spend that right now. Ouch. Nope.
3. On the Simple Scrapper podcast they were talking about 'Quiet Co-Working' (or something like that) zoom crops they host once a week... I am really interested in figuring out a way for me to be more productive during the week. Consider hosting a regular crop at a time that's convenient for you. There will definitely be Peas who will want to join you!
4. I am for sure going to start blogging again. I mentioned above that I go to Instagram for inspiration, but if there's a blog link, I'll follow it if I want to learn more about a project or a story. Or if you mention it here when you post updates, I'll be sure to head over to see it. I used to follow several bloggers, but it seems like they all found other formats.
5. Target has a new line of clear, affordable, organizing containers and they have one listed in store as 12x12. Its not really that size though. Its like 11.8 x 11.8 and its just short of fitting scrapbook paper. Bummer. Totally a missed opportunity on their part. Idiots. They should have asked us.
6. Do you have a notebook where you keep a running list of things you want to do scrappy wise? I have a folder on my laptop for each scrapbook page I make. If I need to make notes, that's the place.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your friend/relative.
1. Inspiration: Like sleepingbooty, I also have a simple, linear, "clean, elegant-ish minimalist style" that is not often found in this product-driven industry. I don't participate in FB, IG, or other social media, only this site & watch an occasional YT video.
2. Simple Scrapper: I'm not a member (& was unaware of the site until this thread).
3. "Quiet Co-Working" zoom crop: I've never chosen to attend a crop, retreat, trade show, etc. in person or online, since I prefer to scrap solo.
4. Blogging: I've neither created a blog nor followed any bloggers, only read occasional entries when linked in past threads here.
5. Target: Although not from Target, I use fridge bins (to store photopolymer stamp sets, enamel dots, etc.) & photo cases (to sort ephemera) bought at The Container Store.
6. Notebook: I exclusively create 12x12 albums (that contain a variety of page protector sizes & configurations), so don't need to track multiple projects (e.g. OLW, DITL, WITL, JYC, DD, cardmaking).

I too am sorry for your loss mom - sending some love your way from across the pond. 6. Do you have a notebook where you keep a running list of things you want to do scrappy wise? I haven't but I am going to think about it. The Trello app seems to be a popular place to keep lists but I haven't looked into it. It's interesting that you mention Trello as I use exactly that to manage my scrapping projects. I don't do an awful lot of scrapbooking compared to some others here but I still find it very useful. 2019 was an incredible and crazy year where I had my wedding, honeymoon and multiple other trips and occasions I wanted to document. Little did I know just how much time I was going to have to document those projects in 2020! I started using Trello to help me get all the noise of the projects I wanted to complete out of my brain and into a place where I could compartmentalise it into chunks. I could have used a journal but I'm used to using digital project management software in my full time job and I wanted all the benefits of digital like being accessible from multiple devices and it being easy to edit and change. I would definitely recommend Trello. It's ideal for planning and organising if you can separate out your to-do lists by project or weekly/monthly. It works on a concept of 'Cards' (projects) that you move from one 'List' (group) to another (I use 'to start', 'in progress', 'up to date', 'parked' and 'completed') as the project progresses. I've attached a screenshot of what part of looks like for you to give you an idea. This is the Workspace view - you can click on each Card to bring up it's to-do list, attachments, notes etc. In the screenshot you can see how it shows the outstanding number of items on the to-do list even at this overall view (ie. 43 out of 46 completed for 2021 Album). I use it to record all the to-do's which is anything from purchasing an album, selecting images, backing up images, planning spreads, doing the spreads and adding in ephemera (which is particularly useful as I always forget to do this!). I love it and would be in a right pickle without it.

mom - I'm so sorry you had a funeral, but I'm so glad it led to this conversation? Crops on the weekend are hit or miss for me because of family obligations but I could definitely schedule a crop in the week and get a ton done. I am really interested in figuring out a way for me to be more productive during the week. Would you be available weekday evenings or just during the day? I am very much an evening scrapper - even when I'm off, my days are when I'm programmed to "put work before pleasure", plus, yeah, that work thing is awkward Our peas crops are super productive times for me even when there is a lot of chit chat. As we have become more comfortable with each other, we chat more. Small talk becomes more personal. We have follow up questions! And when new people join, we feel like we already know them to because they are fellow Peas! Chat isn't necessary - I also love quiet parallel play. But, as I've gotten more comfortable, I no longer feel as compelled to be part of the conversation and will just scrap and listen. All in all - a very good thing that got started here and I'd love to get more Peas "in on the secret". I often get my best scrappy ideas while driving. I think this really shows me that my scrapbooking is a very hands-on and visual process - I can not design or plan a page without a photo or products in my hands. Sometimes I'll think of a fun title, or run a story through my head, but to my regret there are no imaginary designs being formed in this concrete brain. Like sleepingbooty, I also have a simple, linear, "clean, elegant-ish minimalist style" that is not often found in this product-driven industry. So, question: did you and sleepingbooty like Cathy Z's scrapbook pages? I always found her designs as you described above. I have target envy, even when they can't get their dimensions right. Count your blessings you US based peas
