I mean, I listened to the news. I read the things. I was told.
However, I did not process it until coworkers who tested positive the day before showed up to work because they were 5 days out from first symptoms.
Actual humans testing positive coming into a school with an open invitation.
That means students can do the same.
Now I get it, and I am more scared than ever.

Yep they just revised our policy. For teachers it’s 5 days from the start of symptoms and you must be fever free. For students it’s still 10 days. Nothing in the policy mentions lessening symptoms or no symptoms before returning to work. We currently have 4 staff members out with Covid.

Yes, this is the newest CDC guided norm. All the nurses running around like this EXCEPT ME because I can't even get it in the first place even though I'm exposed day and night. I guess my immune system kicks ass? Meanwhile, I'd like 5 days off guilt-free please.
Also, N95 no longer mandatory except in critical care and for aerosol generating procedures. Which is fine because I've been over that one for a long time and didn't wear one even during Delta. Just a surgical mask. But, I am good about wearing that and have been doing so in every public place since omicron.

That’s what my works policy is. Like you’re not just supposed to show up after 5 days, acting like you still couldn’t have the virus. I guess I need to reread. 🤔😵💫

I know it's not a joking matter but sometimes ya gotta find the humor somewhere I probably just developed a really good defense against it early on. |

No quarantine unless I get symptoms/positive test. No symptoms and test yesterday was negative. Supposed to go back for another one tomorrow (and I will) but no one is checking. |

Ahh, so technically needing approval but *not really* cause it’s a pandemic, gotcha. Ack. I really hope you’ve developed superhuman resistance, I’d was upset to see some of our other nurses and teachers and other front line people get it at work, and I’d feel quite upset if you did too. I hope at least the hours you’ve worked you’ve been able to put away a little something for some very guilt free days off somewhere nice, when this is all a bad memory behind us.  |

When my 9yo was positive in October we were told by doh that since dh and I were vaccinated we could go on with our normal daily activities if we were symptom free and wore a mask. We still quarantined at home but didn’t have to. |

And coaches cheer and dance and cheers on a team, with various people out for Covid there. Her best friend, also a nurse, was just commenting that my dd has either had it several times with no symptoms or has a hella good immunity. She has POTS and EDS so she was lucky that she had a mild case the first time! |

My son had COVID right before Christmas, and I was still required to work 7 straight days, wearing an N95 and being tested twice that week. |

One of our teachers has been out all week. HR called her on the evening of night 4 to tell her that if she doesn't have a fever, she needs to come in. She had to explain that even though she didn't have a fever, she did have body aches, headache, cough and wasn't really able to do much but sleep.
Dude, if you're sick - you're sick! I guess whatever she told HR worked because they let her stay home.

Isn’t this the cdc guidance though? If vaccinated you don’t have to quarantine unless symptomatic but should make sure your masking appropriately. |
