We want to move within the next year so I want to condense my scrapbooking supplies to make them more manageable.
Some things I need new solutions for are my 12x12 paper. I have it in individual plastic containers. They take up a lot of room. Is there something that you use that would be a better solution?
I have oddball kits/letter sheets that could use a new home too. For some reason i'm thinking sort of bag like storage, but not quite sure what i'm looking for. I think i'm more of less looking for portability and something to be stashed on a closet shelf. I don't scrapbook much any more but don't want to get rid of it either. Just need it to take up less space.
Would love to see or see links to anything you think would help me out.

Good question miranda. I like bags, too. The Extra Large Ziploc freezer bags hold quite a bit of paper and they are quite sturdy. I like to stand them in deep drawers or open tubs so they are easy to flip through. The bags are easy to grab to put into a rolly tote or a shoulder bag to take to a crop, or just into another room. I also have some themes in Iris tubs. They are handy to hold all the bulky bits like chipbaord or washi or other embellishments right along with the paper. If you want to store them flat, msliz was showing us some drawers today that she is using. They hold the 12x12 sheets plus branding strips. |

I’m another advocate for the large zip top bags. I keep my paper and embellishments together in them and then store them upright in various containers or bins on a shelf.

I keep my paper lines together in plastic bags and put a 2 x 14 label in the bag so it sticks out 1.5 inches. I put a yellow sticker on the label if I have matching stickers, red if I have matching ephemera, and blue/green if I have matching stamps/dies. I think this is the best system (a shelf) if you are short on space because it’s using all the available space. There isn’t any space taken up with wood or plastic (or air if the space isn’t completely full). I have my paper in Cropper Hopper holders like CMPeter linked and on the deeper Ikea Billy shelves. I have high ceilings and also added the shelf extensions for two more shelves on top, but they are stationary shelves about 10” high. If you want to put them in a closet, have shelves made that are about 13-14” to store paper. In a small space, your best option is to use all the vertical space that you can. Shelves to the speckling will help. Also, I scrap with a counter height table and have the storage cubes under the table (like the recollections brand at Michael’s, but way older.) I have 14 cubes under my table, plus a tower of plastic drawers where I keep my color-coded paper scraps. |
