Thanks for your responses. Since I prefer an uncluttered work surface, only an oversized self-healing mat, paper trimmer, wide shallow bowl (to corral stamps/blocks/inks in use), & a lazy susan desk caddy filled with frequently-used tools (e.g. scissors, pens, clear t-square ruler, adhesives) sits on my project table.

I only have a tool turner full of most used things, 2 large self healing mats & my sewing machine on the table top. Otherwise I like a clean space to start new projects.

I have a 58" w x 38" d x 37" h table top, so lots of room to pile everything on top of it and leave myself with less than a 12x12 area to work. From left front to back, across, and right back to front is:
8in guillotine trimmer (left front) 7x10 box for scraps (left back) ink stands / X xyron / Photo holder (middle back) mug with essential tools (bone folder, pen, pointy thing, blender brushes) (middle back) desktop trash can (middle back) 8 in round spinning tray holding adhesive, bottles of glue, spritz, cleaner, etc.(middle back) ATG gun w/holder (middle back) 4-row acrylic tray holding different size of blocks (Right front/back (sideways)
Then in the entire back row of everything are all my 6x6 papers in the popular acrylic trays.
my table top is in the middle of the room, so I can walk around it. So when I go to my 6x6 papers they are easy to just flip thru.
My direct front and center area has a stamping mat.
Underneath the left front is a drawer, which has a bunch of tools to use. Underneath the right front is a drawer, which has adhesives - glue dots, pop dots, tape, etc, and i just added today the mini-scor pal to be stored in there.

I have a birch Ikea NORDEN folding table. It is facing the wall, and I extend it when I need more space. In the top drawer I keep my rulers, Xcut corner rounders, Fiskars hand punches, Xcut screw hole punch, Tim Holtz tiny attacher. Middle drawer I keep my dimensional foam rolls and pads and rolls of craft tape. Bottom drawer I keep my small guillotines. I use an Ansio A2 craft mat (although I keep others such as Tonic glass mat under my desk) Miady LED desk lamp. A pink desk tidy with all kinds of bone folders (WRMK, teflon etc), scoring tools (steel 8 in 1), some pencils for marking, Stazon stamp cleaner, precision glue bottle, glue pens, American Crafts gold scissors, Couture Creations detailer tool, craft tweezers. In the little drawer I keep my rubbers, adhesive eraser, some paper clips, mitre jigs (for making covers), Sizzix makers tape. Pencil sharpener. A pen holder with my Olfa crafting knife and replacement blades, Xcut crafting knife, Fiskars fingertip knife. Handvac mini desk hoover (godsend!) Spellbinders magnetic pick up tool (such a timesaver) MDF ink pad storage for Tim Holtz pads Pencil holder with coloured pencils I have a trolley under my desk where I keep my punches, and I hang my scissors on the row of hooks (Tim Holtz non-stick, Fiskars general purpose, Xcut micro craft, Cutter Bee, Kai embroidery scissors)

Here is what is always on my craft desk. (Note I have a craft desk and a work/pc desk)
Lamp
Fiskars cutting system
Scissors
Pencil
Ruler
Tape runner
Glue
I just seem to leave those smaller items out instead of in their drawer.
I have shelves above the desk so items are up on those.
