oh my goodness what a beautiful show.
I've never heard of this restaurant and I was looking to just put something on the tv while I cleaned house. I winded up sitting and rewinding it and binging through the first season and into the second while I folded laundry and pretended to clean.
How do these tiny restaurants in the middle of nowhere (Maine) get such crazy worldwide followings? Is it all social media? Thousands of postcards mailed in just to get a reservation.
How is is that she cooks for a restaurant in this magazine perfect kitchen with glass containers and tiny little vases with flowers?
So stinkin' beautiful. Every plate is a work of art.
The food combos she comes up with are intriguing. If you haven't seen this show yet and you are at all a foodie, I highly recommend. Her story of how she's kept her restaurant going in this pandemic is inspiring.

Going there for a meal is on our bucket list for sure. You have to get a reservation a loooong time in advance and, as I recall, you have to write her by snail mail to ask for one. Crazy stuff. Very Maine, though.

I watched either saturday or sunday. Yes, loved the show. Her husband seems a bit unsupportive at times though. I also really enjoyed the Zoe baking show, as she is here in MN

yes, hubs and I love it! I would LOVE to go visit but also I don't eat any seafood and it seems most of her menus always have it and you never know what it will be as she cooks only what she can get that week.

The woman who runs this, Erin French, wrote a memoir which is pretty interesting.

She has written a book too. We are going to Maine in September, but don't think I need to blow our entire food budget in one meal and my DH is more of a buffet guy!

Very Maine, though. Okay so see, how did you, in Texas find out about her? Has she been written up about a lot? Have I been under a rock? LOL I'm going to the library today, they have both of her books. She's written her memoir and a cookbook. I guess I have been under a rock! I'm also itching to get to Green Thumb and pick up flowers for little tiny bouquets. And I am still marveling at how she runs a restaurant kitchen that is that decorated and immaculate. None of her glass jars have greasy hand prints smeared on them.

You can tell she just loves her home in MN and shows it off beautifully too. I didn't get the unsupportive vibe from Erin's husband at all. He seems so sweet with her, he's building fires and learned how to chop wood even though he's a city guy. In season two he really steps up to help with her outdoor cooking pits. And what about those darling cabins! OMG what an inspired idea

Thank you for the Zoe Baking Show tip - gonna watch that tonight.
I’ve also really enjoyed their series on cabins all over the country (I think it might be called Cabin Chronicles)

She has definitely been written about/talked about locally up there. We sold our house, but we’re going back to stay (in someone else’s rental house) for a couple of weeks in July. This might be the year that I remember to send her a postcard for a reservation. 😊
