I’ve found it hard to trust him since he was nominated. I've questioned his judgement since the Senate ignored his sexual harassment of his employees before they bestowed the honor of Supreme Court Justice on him. Anymore, it’s beginning to look like a job requirement for Republicans in office, appointments, clergy, etc. It’s commonplace for Republicans to have sexual crimes against them, and it’s always accepted by their peers. They’re never held accountable and wear it like a badge of honor.

"In a speech in Utah, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas slammed 'cancel culture,' the media and proposals to add justices to the high court, suggesting that doing so could chip away at the institution's credibility."
Why are religious righties so anti-"cancel culture" when their God invented it?!?!
Noah's flood? The original "cancel culture".
Cancelled every embryo, fetus, infant, child, teen, human on earth - in a snit over people being "evil". Then let the world repopulate from one family - even thought they turned out to be "evil" all over again. You'd think the all-knowing idiotic "ruler of the universe" would have seen the evil coming - BOTH TIMES. Nope. Make people. CANCEL THEM. Make them again. Fuss because they're "evil" You made them, dude.

Ewww..... But, after reportedly flunking the bar exam, [Ginni Thomas] fell in with a cultish self-help group, Lifespring, whose members were encouraged to strip naked and mock one another’s body fat. She eventually broke away, and began working for the Chamber of Commerce, opposing "comparable worth" pay for women. She and Thomas began dating, and in 1987 they married. Yes, this lady used to be in a cult that participated in naked fat-shaming. If you weren't aware of that detail, well, please know that your newsletter writer is equally stunned. --Inae Oh link.motherjones.com/view/5eb48731176847791599fb72g3hah.3ue0/05e93178

Thomas was hospitalized Friday night with "flu like" symptoms. Will remain in hospital for several.more days. He is 73 and has had all 3 Covid vaccines. Not saying anything about Covid.

The only conspiracy theory I am floating in 2022 is that Thomas is faking this to try to tank KBJ's hearings.

www.npr.org/2022/03/20/1087788575/justice-clarence-thomas-hospitalized-supreme-court "He underwent tests, was diagnosed with an infection, and is being treated with intravenous antibiotics. His symptoms are abating, he is resting comfortably, and he expects to be released from the hospital in a day or two," read the court's statement.
The court did not say why it waited two days to reveal the news. As NPR's Nina Totenberg has reported, the health of Supreme Court justices is often cloaked in mystery.

SCOTUS refuses to release any information about whether Thomas is still in the hospital or not. He has not participated with the court for a full three not even virtually! Supreme Court refuses to say if Clarence Thomas remains hospitalized after five daysDavid Badash, The New Civil Rights Movement March 23, 2022 U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas entered the hospital on Friday, yet the court’s spokesperson is refusing to state whether or not the 73-year old conservative jurist remains hospitalized. On Sunday the Court first revealed Thomas had entered the hospital two days earlier but said he was expected to be released “in a day or two. Yet on Wednesday, after being hospitalized for five days, “court spokeswoman Patricia McCabe said she had no update to provide,” the Associated Press reports, noting the high court “won’t say” if he remains in the hospital. Thomas missed the third day of arguments Wednesday and did not participate virtually. www.rawstory.com/clarence-thomas-2657027351/

I wonder if they would keep something secret until after the confirmation hearing? Obviously that is just speculation but it’s strange that they won’t update on his health.

I don’t think it would be possible to keep news like that under wraps for months because it would be a *huge* big deal. Somebody would leak it.

That is some qanon level thinking. Isn't his wife one of those Q wack jobs? It It appears so, but thinking that his supposed death is being kept from the general population is exactly the kind of nonsense she would be spewing about Biden if he were hospitalized. There is just no way that the hospital and his family are keeping his death secret. That is just as crazy as thinking JFK Jr. is alive and coming out to support Trump at the next election.

Surely if he dies they LEGALLY have to tell us I don’t know about that. Most states do not have any laws that you have to legally publish an obituary. In this case, he is too well known of a figure to hide his death, I would think.

I don’t think his death can be hidden. But that doesn’t mean that someone, like his whack-job wife, wouldn’t want to try.

BINGO!!!! Text messages were between early November through just after Jan 6th!!! Legal experts were shocked on Thursday about revelations that the Select Committee to Investigate the Jan. 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol obtained text messages sent between Ginny Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, and then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.Watergate reporter Bob Woodward reported on Thursday, "Virginia Thomas, a conservative activist married to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, repeatedly pressed White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows to pursue unrelenting efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in a series of urgent text exchanges in the critical weeks after the vote, according to copies of the messages obtained by The Washington Post and CBS News." The story was matched by CNN."The messages – 29 in all – reveal an extraordinary pipeline between Virginia Thomas, who goes by Ginni, and President Donald Trump’s top aide during a period when Trump and his allies were vowing to go to the Supreme Court in an effort to negate the election results," The Post reported. "The messages, which do not directly reference Justice Thomas or the Supreme Court, show for the first time how Ginni Thomas used her access to Trump’s inner circle to promote and seek to guide the president’s strategy to overturn the election results – and how receptive and grateful Meadows said he was to receive her advice." Robert Costa, who co-wrote The Post story with Woodward, wrote. "Woodward and I both see this as an unprecedented entanglement between a top official in the Exec Branch and the spouse of a Justice. They are privately discussing strategy, lawyers, managing WH staff, and conspiracy theories." Legal experts quickly weighed in on the bombshell reporting, which came as Clarence Thomas may or may not still be hospitalized. Adam Blickstein, who worked in public affairs for the Department of Justice, alluded to the situation when he noted, "We now have more information about Ginny Thomas' illegal attempt to overturn the 2020 election than we do about Clarence Thomas' current medical condition." "One of the most important questions in politics right now: what did Clarence Thomas know, and when did he know it?" he asked. Election law lawyer Rick Hasen described it as "astounding" and political scientist Norman Ornstein responded, "Clarence Thomas should resign." Attorney and Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali did not think Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) should wait for Thomas to resign, counseling that "Democrats should impeach Clarence Thomas." Former public defender Kumar Roa agreed, saying "Impeach Clarence Thomas." The watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) said, "this seems like a big deal." "The Supreme Court voted 8-1 that Trump couldn't block the Jan 6th committee from getting docs. The one vote against was Clarence Thomas. Mark Meadows turned over texts from Thomas's wife Ginni Thomas urging efforts to overturn the election. What else was afraid would come out?" CREW wondered. Former Southern District of New York prosecutor Richard Signorelli wondered if Ginni Thomas referenced her husband in the text messages. "She is nuts. I would bet that the 'best friend' reference in her texts is her husband," he said. Jane Mayer, who profiled Ginni Thomas in January for The New Yorker, agreed. "After talking with her 'best friend,' which is how the Thomases refer to one another, Justice Thomas's wife militates relentlessly for the president's chief of staff to overturn a presidential election," Mayer wrote. Slate legal correspondent Mark Joseph Stern was shocked when he went through the text messages. "Ginni Thomas urged Mark Meadows to overturn the 2020 election by any means necessary—while her husband was ruling on cases attempting to overturn the election. A truly extraordinary level of corruption," he wrote. "Look at the absolutely deranged conspiracy theories Ginni Thomas pushed. Fringe doesn’t begin to cover it. She promoted conspiracy theories from a Sandy Hook truther plus QAnon stuff." www.rawstory.com/ginni-thomas-texts-mark-meadows/
