What kind of chair do you all have in your scrap rooms? I have a herniated disk at my L5 and bought a seat cushion for my chair but still have discomfort. Was wondering what everyone else uses that is comfortable.

I mostly stand, but if I need to sit I use an extra big yoga ball. It’s in a felt cover, so doesn’t feel sticky or rubbery.
Too much sitting on regular chairs messes with my hips, which will cause my lower back to hurt.

I use this one. I splurged a bit because the chair is used for both working from home the odd day, as well as scrapbooking. It felt the most comfortable to me. When I initially shopped, there was the same version without the arms and I really liked that, but it was discontinued and I got the model with the arms. They are optional to put on, and I was going to assemble it without arms as I worried they would get in the way when I was scrapbooking, but I prefer them for office work and they are fine when I scrapbook. My partner uses the Markus chair from Ikea as his work from home and he likes it. I have also sat in it and it is very comfortable, but I still prefer mine. It's all personal preference. I hope you get relief from your pain soon.

I use this one ( Flintan from IKEA). It's very comfortable for me and provides good back support. I'm height-challenged, so I don't need a very tall back on my chair, LOL. I have a back support cushion that I can use with it if/when I need to, but I find I don't really need it. The back support cushion usually stays downstairs on my crappy sewing table chair, LOL. I have a different (but similar style) chair with arms that I use at my computer desk for WFH in the same room (office/scraproom is one and the same), but the arms make it too big to fit easily under my scrapping worktable.

I have a gaming chair. It is black and white and adjustable with a high back. LOVE it. So comfortable. This is the one I have. I was able to snag it on sale for Mother's Day 2020 for $99. Gaming Chair

I have herniated discs as well and the chair I linked doesn't hurt and I dont ache when I get up after a long session at the scrap table or PC.

I have a big ol' office chair that rolls. Its ugly as heck, but its comfy. The arms are ratty now too because I've had it so long but I love it.

You might want to consider going to a medical supply store and see if they have a cushion with a removable piece where the tailbone rests. My husband uses one made for Essential Medical Supply in Orlando. It gives him a lot of relief (his disc completely disintegrated and had to be fused). His tailbone is somewhat sensitive, and the cushion is wonderful.

I have been trying to find one too! My issue is I have cabinets/counters in my scrap room so I need a comfy Counter height chair. Impossible to find so far!

Back in the day, before computers were so prevalent in drafting fields, many drafting tables were counter height so there were ‘office’ chairs that went counter height. Won’t be cheap though. Hth

Hth Thank you! I have started - they all seem very similar. I wish I could find a memory foam drafting chair for comfort since I spend long hours in it. I'd pay a few hundred dollars for a great, comfy chair!

I have a basic rolling desk chair from Aldi that rolls back and forth between the computer desk and scrapping table - it looks awful because the cats have torn up the top of it with their claws but it's comfortable enough

I stand to scrap, but for my home office I have the Ikea Millberget chair. It's way comfier than the chair I purchased for my regular office...might have to switch them, ha!
My color is discontinued, I have a white one with black accents, and it's help up well. I should also note the boys in my house aren't allowed to sit in it (white chairs and grease monkey boys are not a match made in heaven 😆)
I aggrivate my sciatica if I sit too long in the wrong chair, and ths char is comfy enough for me to sit in for 8 hours a day. I think I just talked myself into switching it to my regular office, ha!

I use an office chair that we purchased second hand from a fire sale when John McCain lost his election. It's really comfortable and has held up nicely for well over a decade.
I would suggest going to an office supply store and trying out chairs. I think what each person likes or finds comfortable is very individual.

My other issue is my room is really small so I can't have a chair with arms. That gaming chair looks great though.
