I'm a complete cutter virgin. What is the difference between these two machines? I thought I wanted the Cameo but a friend pointed out the Explore. Now I'm not sure. Help a girl out!!

I think they are both very similar. I don't have any experience with the Cameo, so can't speak to it.
I just purchased an Explore last night - but have had Cricuts for many years. I had been holding out on the Explore because it was internet required, but the CEO/President has announced that it will be able to be used offline in the first half of 2015.
There are tons of You Tube videos out there to look at - you might want to go find some beginner ones for each one and see which you like best.

I have a silhouette that I really like but I never wanted to get into the cartridge collecting. I don't use it much because I just don't like sitting there waiting while it cuts.

I have both machines. Both are great. I like the Cameo a bit better even though I have almost 150 cartridges. I like trying to design on the Silhouette program. For me, the Silhouette offers more room for creativity. You can download both programs for free and check them out. See which one you like better. You can download thousands of fonts off of the internet for free and use them with you machine. Way cheaper than buying shapes or cartridges from with place.

I don't know whether you can search for topics here, but this question has been asked a couple of times in the last month, both here and on the NSBR message board. Check out those threads for additional comments.

Thank you Scrapnnana! I really dislike the search function here. There's a ton of good information in those threads.
