Well, it is about that time again - I imagine the new distress color announcement is just around the corner. It has been a little over 3 months since Villainous Potion joined the line.
What is your best prediction for this launch? You can vote for as many colors as you want in the poll, but also tell me in the comments what color you want to see and what would you name it.

I voted yellow. No real method to my madness, but there’s been a blue, a green, a pink, an orange (a red/orange), and a purple recently so I went with yellow as one of the few colors left.

For the love of all things Tim Holtz, Ranger please make a pretty peach! Poor Shimelle is mixing her oxides just to get a peach color.

I think it will be either pink (coincide with valentines) or a peach.

But I voted neutral b/c I don't trust Tim not to go back to his grungy roots and come up with yet another brown.

I voted for yellow, but I think it will be more of a golden brownish yellow. He's already said there won't be a peach.

I’m still holding out hope for a peach color. Spring is right around the corner so maybe there’s a chance.

I will forever hold out for a true red. However, I’m guessing a gray or brown.

Team pink. Figured if Fiestaware released pink for their new color, maybe Tim will follow.

Yellow is my fave so I could certainly embrace another yellow But I suspect it will be another grey-pressed concrete perhaps

I want a good grey. No more browns, blues or greens.
Yellow or orange would be great. True red.
Oh. A wine colour / burgundy. I'd like that.

https://instagram.com/p/CZ14bf5LJ16 I don't know why I can't get the instagram post to work, but here is a link if you want to go see it. Tim Holtz posted "Join us Saturday, February 12 at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm UK on YouTube LIVE for New Distress from @ranger_ink ." It looks like Saturday is the big day for the new Distress color. I'm going to guess that the new color is a neutral - specifically a deeper iron grey (Seasoned Skillet, perhaps?) or a desaturated orange/brown (with the name being something like Terracotta Tile, Crumbling Flowerpot, or Unglazed Terracotta). The Distress palette is large enough now that it is genuinely getting difficult to predict what colors Tim Holtz has dreamed up for his distress line. I find it fun to see what everyone is hoping for. Peach is definitely a popular wish (certainly thanks to Shimelle's campaign ) so I hope we get that one sooner or later!

I love the idea of a nice peach, so that got my vote. I’m hoping that these last 12 Distress color lines will make a nice rainbow of compatible colors. So far I’ve liked them all.

I'm really hoping that whatever it is, I can wait until I'm done with my freeze. I'm honestly terrible at guessing what colours he's going to come out with next, I thought I'd heard he didn't like purple so there would be no more purples, and then he released villainous potion. After watching Shimelle make her own peach oxide, I'd be on board with a proper peach being released.

No new distress color. Wah wah.
New distress colors in the archival ink formula & what looks like embossing powders.

I guess I was mistaken - not a new color yet. Curious when the next one will be announce as we are more than 3 months since the reveal of Villainous Potion. He did announce new Archival inks in Distress colors and more of the embossing glazes. I like that the mini archival sets include a lot of these new distress colors I will definitely pick up those archival mini inks, but I'm not sure about the glazes. I bought a few of those and haven't even opened the jars, so I can't justify buying more. It will be a while before I buy anything since I am on a pretty strict freeze until I get my creative space painted, unpacked, and organized. No doubt that will take a few months to finish, so it will be a while before I make an order. Are any of you fans of the distress archival inks? What about the glazes? And what is your favorite Distress color so far? Prior to the new releases my favorites were Lucky Clover, Ripe Persimmon, Seedless Preserves, and Blueprint Sketch. But I think Tim has knocked it out of the park with all of the new color selections, and now I have a wide range of favorites.

I was looking for the new colour too. Hopefully soon! I’m in the same boat as rune2484 with the Distress Glazes. I like them in concept but need to use what I have now before I buy more…even though I really like the new colours he has out. I love the Archival Ink. It’s my go to stamping ink and I have some of the Distress colours. They are really nice, but again, this is something I need to use more before I buy more.

I just went ahead and bought all of the Distress Archival inks after watching Tim today. I mean, 100+ different ink pads isn't too many, right?

How do the archival inks differ from distress or oxide?

How do the archival inks differ from distress or oxide? Distress inks are waterbased and a dye ink. Oxides are a hybrid dye / pigment Archival is a permanent waterproof ink. Actually oil based. Not good for copics though

I tried to watch that video, but holy cow it was very long and it often sounded (to me) that Tim was chiding people for asking questions or not understanding. I gave up after about 20 mins at 1.5 speed.
I love that the colors are in mini form and might pick up a few as I don't do a ton of techniques w/water anyway, so the archivals would work for what I need and a much smaller form factor.
