Hello Pokeys. Hope you all had a great Valentines Day. We exchanged cards but that was all. Here is the card Miley made for his mom yesterday. The U from U R the Coolest" fell off during the photo shoot, but we got it glued back in place before putting the card into the envelope. He got lots of valentines at school today, but he told his mom that "Nobody made nice homemade ones like I did. They just bought theirs."
I have a busy week. Tuesday I have a hair appointment. Thursday I am heading to dd’s for the night then on to Calgary to stay with the boys for a couple of weeks. So Wednesday I will be getting my clothes organized and packing up scrappy supplies to take with me to keep me occupied when the boys are in school.
I need to make Mikey's bd card this week. And if there is time, I have a couple of LO's in a kit I put together today with fall papers.

grammadee , I think his card is delightful. I was showing Em the punny cards your DGS made and she took a photo. She knows Alex would love doing that and between her and me, we have quite a few dies that would work. Next year! I hope you get everything accomplished before you leave on Thursday. Have a wonderful time with your grands. I know they will love your visit. gramma & Linda , I used to use SCAL with my Cricut to make titles. I don't remember if there is a way to ofset or inset but I think it does. It has been years since my cricut died and I bought the Silhouette. On Sunday while DH was watching the Superbowl I struggled and struggled with the title going around my circular photos. I have always had trouble getting the font the size I wanted, so I'd just type it and then adjust the whole block to the size I wanted. I was hoping you might be online, gramma , and I could question you and have you show me what was wrong. I checked and the online crop was closed so I just kept trying. I did finally get it to work, but yesterday told Em how hard it was. She went to my computer, and immediately did what took me 12 tries to do. I have never seen the bar at the top left where you can change the size of font once it is selected. Duh! I'm sure that Linda will be successful with the SCAL. I loved that program. I have spent lots of time in my scraproom and it looks it! I just get it cleaned up and can't wait to scrap. I need to really do some deep reorganizing, but am enjoying the 28-4-28 challenges and I have such a huge stack of photos that need to be scrapped. I'm waving to all the Pokeys. I haven't been on the Pokey thread as much this month, but will be more diligent. I'm off to scrap and clean!

The next time we are on a crop at the same time I'll show you how to curve text. It was a game changer for me.

I didn't have trouble getting it to curve, I just couldn't size it so that the curve ended where I wanted it. I have always struggled with the size of the titles because I kept trying to change the font size on the upper right box where you choose which font you want. It always says 72 and I keep trying to make it about 48, but every time I would type it would jump back to 72.I think I have it now. I know there are lots of things you could teach me. I tend to be a little afraid of the computer! LOL I'm trying to get braver.

Good Morning pokeys! grammadee that's so cool that you helped Mikey made handmade cards and they are so cute. He's so cute! Rudy had store bought cards, but he and his dad put together a box that looked like Duke from the Secret Life of Pets. They had fun doing that together. I'm sorry I missed out on the crops this weekend. DS2 who struggles with addiction is struggling right now and that has taken a lot of mental and emotional energy. Throw work into the mix (which is steadily picking up) and I haven't felt much like socializing. Still hosting the crop Sunday though. I've still been scrapping here and there, just haven't had the free weekends I anticipated. Best laid plans.... I have a couple of pages that need journaling to finish them up so there's that lol. Congrats kellyr21 on the Rams win! The playoffs and SB were all such good close games. Waving hi to everyone!

Thanks for posting all those meals, MARIBETHR. Are you still using your rating system, and how are you enjoying your dishes? They look like a fun variety. I really like the design you have chosen to scrap this year's meals. joyfulnana, I'm sorry you have not been able to scrap online. I hope things get better for your DS. I have empathy for you as you watch him struggle. We have dealt with addiction through several generations. Hugs! Hope you work doesn't get as busy as it was before. Take care of yourself. grammadee, have a great trip! I know the kids will enjoy you.

I really like the design you have chosen to scrap this year's meals. Yes, the rating system is located in the text box after the name of each meal. Frankly they have all been good-excellent, except last night (page not made yet). It was the first one that was thumbs down. We are looking to try Hello Fresh as well for a broader selection. We have such fun cooking these meals together, and we love not have to try to come up with a new meal choice. It really makes perfect sense for us.

joyfulnana - Hugs to you and your son. I'm glad you are there behind him in life! We did miss you this weekend. I am working this weekend, so while I might jump in Saturday night, I probably won't be home for the Sunday one. grammadee - you are awesome to spend time with Mikey and do all these crafts. It's so good for them to be creative, see the value in them, and spend time with you. I didn't do enough crafts with my boys and wish I could turn back time. MARIBETHR - it looks like so much fun to try a different meal like this and do it with your DH! DH and I also like cooking together...but if it's something new to us, it's usually me fiddling with the recipe the first couple of times, and then he joins the show. He's a good sous chef I should be downstairs either working on 28-4-28, or making cards for coworkers who are leaving. They've been relocated to another site, we've known about it for a month but we were suddenly told yesterday that it was happening *now* instead of a few weeks from now. It is causing such chaos at work and such a hole in our hearts that it's hard to find creative energy!!! What I'd really like to do is a fussy box card with lots of pop up flowers and rainbows for them to take to the new site with them. Hoping all the Pokeys are hanging in there!

Waving hi and happy weekend. Had a sweet Valentine's Day hope you all did, too. joyfulnana- Yes, we are Superbowl champs! I didn't even watch the game. I was too nervous. Lol! Ron watched for both of us and I watched the highlights. Whew! So happy for the city and I know my in-laws are glad this is all over.😀 They live right next to the stadium.

kellyr21, I was thinking of your during the Superbowl. I remember you commented about the new stadium being built. I'm glad your team won. I'm not a fan of any team but I know you and joyfulnana are big fans. What did you do for Valentine's Day? I'm glad it was a nice day. kitbop, I am sorry about the shake-up at work. It's hard to lose work associates fit well into your working environment. I hope you come up with a great idea for their farewell. Your cards are always incredible. MARIBETHR, I didn't recognize the little thumb after the names of your dishes. Thanks for replying. I am seeing the gallery and the sharing thread really moving. I hope each of you are getting some time to scrap this month. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Happy Saturday! It's been a good day and I got to Michaels this afternoon. They have rearranged the store and I have to get used to it. nylene- Waving hi and thanks for the beautiful card. 😇😊 For Valentine's Day, we didn't go out but exchanged gifts and had a good dinner. Dh gave me some lovely roses and I wish they still were thriving but the gave me joy while they were fresh. Lol! Ron is getting ready to host his sports career student conference in April so I will be helping him. He is so excited!

My first full day with the boys, and we all survived. Both had hockey this afternoon, but they were both at the same arena, so that wasn’t too bad. I got some good action shots. Their sister was here as well, but didn’t see much of her. She wants to bake cookies with the boys on Monday, so will see more of her then. Early morning tomorrow with a 7:30am practice. Then shopping for baking supplies. So much happening in the Gallery and sharing thread and each of the 28-4-28 threads, but I need to recharge my batterie before I can give them proper attention. Good to hear from you, kellyr21. Did he do this conference last year? Or is what I remember his planning for this one? What cards did you make for your departing coworkers, kitbop? I am sure they are gorgeous. Changes that seem random or simply economically driven are frustrating. A close knit team is always more efficient.

Happy Monday everyone! Waving hi!🙂 grammadee- Yes, my dh did this event last year and now it is an annual event. Also, he did several small events last year, too. So glad he's able to do this event virtually so more students can attend. So cool! I had never done embroidery before. Last Fall, I saw some kits on Amazon and tried it out. I am sure the one's your mom made were lovely.❤ I had three of them and finished two. I am half way finished on the third one. I haven't worked on it in a while but I will probably finish it at some point. 🙂

grammadee, how is the tending going? I'm sure they are really enjoying time with gramma. kellyr21, I'm glad you enjoyed the embroidery. My mom taught me when I was a young girl and I made a lot of embroidered dishtowels and aprons. It's a relaxing activity. I am excited that you are helping Ron with his event. I remember that it was a big event last year even with the Covid issues. He must be reaching a lot of young men and women. What are you doing to help this year? joyfulnana, have things settled down a little at your home? How about work? I love your page about Abby. She is a beautiful kitty. She's lucky to have you! kitbop, I hope you will post your goodbye cards to your coworkers. I'm sorry that change had to be made. justjac, you have really been scrapping this month. I can't believe you are doing the 100-day project as well as LOAD. I am really enjoying your art journal. I think my mojo has taken a vacation. I was going strong for the first 2 weeks of Feb, but I am really slowing down. I have lots of photos so I really need to get moving again. Waving to each of you. It's always a treat to see you hop on the thread!

Kids have spring break from school but not from hockey. Doesn’t FEEL like spring. -30 today. Yesterday we celebrated family day by making cookies. Here is a selfie taken of that adventure by a ten year old. Today the boys are busy playing some kind of cooperative game on their computers. So I actually got to put a LO together! Think I will upload and post my pages when I get home. Hoping to get a few done next week when boys are back in school.

Happy Tuesday! Waving hey to you gals! grammadee- What a fun time you are having! nylene- Yeah, I am surprised how relaxing embroidery is. I attended a virtual class last year and learned about cross stitch. That seems harder so embroidery with the design printed on the fabric seemed easier. I was Ron's social media girl for Instagram last year. It was fun! So this year,I will be doing the same.

kellyr21, your DH is lucky to have you helping him with his event. I hope it goes well and that you have a lot of participants. I'm glad you are enjoying your embroidery. I heard that LA area is really cold right now. I hope it's a quick storm and you get back to more pleasant weather. grammadee, it seems you are having a wonderful time with the grands. I hope you have a chance to do some scrappy projects while they are at school. On second thought, maybe you need to take a nap while they are at school. LOL. It is really ugly weather here today. It snowed all day yesterday but today it's just snowing a little but the wind is miserable. It must have vibrated our flagpole and made one section collapse. It's a telescoping pole and it is now 2/3 of the size it should be. It's too cold and windy to fix it right now and since the flag is not drooping on the ground, we'll raise it back up when the wind stops. I hate wind! I am going to try to make a scrapbook page today. I have been working on cards to put in boxes for a church silent auction. Did you hear that, gramma? Boxes! LOL We need to get together again sometime and you will find they aren't that hard. I hope to make enough cards in varieties to fill 3 or 4 boxes.

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are having a good week. Frying chicken tonight. I put some in the air fryer and on the stove with oil. I wonder which one will be better. So fingers crossed it turns out yummy! nylene- Ron is all excited and I am so proud of him and excited for him, too. Yes, the weather went from warm to winter. We got some rain yesterday. Today,I did take my walk but I was all bundled up. Lol! I guess it's been so cold I saw snow on the mountains in the distance. So nice you are making and donating cards.

Hi Pokies! Sorry I've been awol - my computer shut down for an update and wouldn't come back on. Fingers crossed - all is well with it now. Cute baking picture grammadee - hope you're still having fun and they haven't worn you out yet. nylene I hope your weather is improving - that sounds awful Hi kellyr21 - did you do counted cross-stitch? there are cross-stitch designs with the printing also. Would love to see your embroidery, It's been a week and it's only Thursday. Good news is that Little Friend (12 y/o cat) went back to the vet yesterday and the special ($$$) food is working. Her T4 dropped from 8.9 to 2.1 in a month and are in the normal range now. DD15 had her oral surgery consult - they want to wait a year or two before removing the wisdom teeth so that's good. And things are starting to bloom (my azaleas), sprout (one of the bulbs), and leaf out (our two newly planted crepe myrtle)

Linda, I'm sorry about your computer problems. That always throws a wrench in the works when you can't do what you planned to do. Hope it is fixed now. I'm happy that your Little Friend is doing better. It seems impossible that you have thing blooming. We have more snow overnight and the wind is still howling. I'm sure DH will decide he needs to snowblow for the neighborhood, but I hate to see him out in it. I keep hoping for Spring, but we need a lot more snow to have enough water for the summer. kellyr21, I would be interested to know which chicken you liked the best. I, too, would love to see your embroidery. I'm going to finish a page today and do a few more cards. Waving to all our Pokeys (who aren't very pokey!) LOL

Going to check out the days. linda - your garden looks very pretty. I know you must enjoy seeing them bloom. My computer is acting up, too. I hope I can figure it out this weekend. nylene - The fried chicken turned out so good. Ron liked the chicken fried in the oil best but I liked the air fryer better. Yummy!

Linda, you are slayin me with those flower pic’s! We have had a week of crazy weather: snowstorms, deep freeze, and today a breezy but otherwise perfect spring like day. I took the boys to meet up with their cousins to go sledding. We then met up again for hot chocolate at Tim Hortons. MARIBETHR, I left love on Flickr for your pages. I love how you follow a set design, yet add special touches to each page. Glad you are enjoying yourself, kellyr21. I know I don’t have the attention to detail required for cross stitch, and I would never attempt it if the design weren’t stamped on the backing. I am way behind with comments except in the Gallery. nylene and justjac, you have done a lot this month. I surprised myself by completing 3 LO’s this past week. Hoping to get more scrapping done when the boys are in school. Hoping to set up a virtual crop for Wednesday once the boys are on the bus. Planning to print pic’s from my stay here on Tuesday, so maybe I can scrap the adventures the boys want to see on my pages. If I can finish 9 more LO’s, I can unfreeze myself and shop on the way home. (Too bad there isn’t a smilie of someone villainously rubbing their hands together… I will definitely be here for the next week. Ddil qualified today for the championship weekend March 4-6th, and after that weekend, they will need to drive back with the horses.

kitbop, I am sorry to hear about you losing co-workers. grammadee, it looks like you are having fun! I would want another Spring Break when temps are warmer! linda, I love your Azaleas!! I want a flowering bush in my front bed. I used to have a Yew bush which I had a hard time maintaining. It got a fungus and my Dad and I took it out. I am hanging out at the coffee shop. I have switched to drinking decaf when I come in the evenings. I found out my favorite barista quit. He has worked here for 10+ years. He has a degree in film and I thought maybe he was something with that. I was told he is working in IT. They told me that he loves to hear from people. I will have to send him a message to say hello. I did buy myself an espresso maker! One of the coffee shops I go to a lot uses coffee beans made locally. I went and picked some up and my latte I made was so good today!! I am having trouble using the milk frother/steamer. I need to do more reading on how to use it. I had my urology appointment about a week ago now. I go in and my UA was negative! The urologist told me that of course, it is negative today. He talked about doing a scope just to take a look in my bladder. I go back in a couple of months to have another UA and possibly do the scope that day. If all this looks okay, he said he will release me. I started Zoe in Intermediate training. I am working on getting her to heel. The trainer said we are doing good so far. I don't think she is quite connecting with what we really are doing. I hope to have her trained enough to be a pet therapy dog. I am trying to work hard with her. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Glad you popped in to say hi knutschen! I've been so quiet this month. I LOVE my coffee - it's really an important part of my day. Kinda sad when I think about it too carefully Good luck with the ongoing investigations. I hope you are feeling OK. Linda - I'm a wee bit jealous of your flowers! We are still icy, although there is a faint hope in the air that spring might appear in 6-8 weeks... Glad the cat is responding to the food (in our house that would be a problem since all 4 cats graze on all the food). And glad your computer is behaving! My Dad is currently in hospital. Alas, he has landed on MY FLOOR. It's going to be awkward. Really really awkward. He had surgery Thursday, but they want to do a big one (hopefully this Tuesday, which is why they kept him in for the weekend) and remove his bladder entirely. This is gonna get messy, I just know it. DD and I got away for 24 hours in Niagara Falls this weekend. We went to a dance competition with her studio (she "graduated" last year but still takes classes and teaches, and has a good friend in gr. 12 still dancing). It was nice in a way, but also sad to not have all my dance mom friends still there with me, and to not see DD on stage. Katie did my nails for me for the weekend: she does full polygels at home, and is amazing at it too. I had 1/2 inch NAILS with french tips and a glittery accent nail. I could hardly function! I certainly couldn't text or type well, very frustrating. I cut them down tonight just so I could post my 28-4-28 challenge Plus, I have to work tomorrow and I could just picture these french tip nails poking out the ends of the gloves we wear for every patient encounter now See you all in March! I can't believe February is almost over.

Thank you everyone - I love the Azaleas - they are along the entire front of the house and wrap around part of the sides. We're hoping to add more in the future. Hi kellyr21 thanks for the chicken update - I'll have to try the air fryer for that. I don't use mine very often. grammadee - sounds like you're having fun - hopefully they aren't wearing you out too much. I might be able to pop in on Wednesday if you do a crop - I wish I could figure out the feedback issue with my tablet but since I can't, I'll mostly be muted. knutschen - lovely to 'see' you. Good luck training Zoe - we'll need an updated picture of them. I hope the urology stuff clears up for you. kitbop - we had three feeding stations set up for grazing - one downstairs, one upstairs, and then kitten food in my bathroom. But now we have just the one upstairs for grazing and LF gets fed separately. It's working out better than I thought it would (we have 6 cats) I'm sorry about your dad - hopefully the surgeries go well and the hospital can help with post-surgery options
