This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page/project when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

I am so sorry I didn't get the thread started this morning. If Linda had not contacted me, I'm not sure when I would have remembered that it's Feb. My "rememberer" struggles as I age! I hope you are all ready to start some of the 28-4-28 challenges. There are a lot of fun things going on here this month. Happy February to each of you!

Thanks nylene - I'm glad you're okay. No scrapping for me today. I spent the day in the kitchen prepping for our tea tonight (instead of dinner). I made tea sandwiches - cucumber/mayo, egg mayo, and cheddar/tomato - scones, petit fours, and chocolate cornflake cakes plus hot tea of course. Then afterwards there was clean-up and rowing - DH bought a rowing machine for Christmas and set it up a week ago and I've been rowing daily (except Sunday). Hopefully I can keep it up. I am hoping to scrap tomorrow - I need to prepare MY challenge for the 28-4-28 and figure out a plan for Ryann's one from today. Hope everyone is well.

Linda, your tea looks yummy. What fun for a change. We had breakfast food for dinner tonight. That's always a comfortable change for us. We are still dealing with the collision co. When we go over a bump, the back gate opens. Arrgh! It was fine when we took it in. We are still waiting on a part so we can use the back door. The part seems to be backordered. How I wish we had never tried to use the insurance to fix the car. It has been a fiasco. I spent all day today putting my house back together and cleaning after the Christmas tree shed needles all over. I took the village down on Saturday and the tree down yesterday. My house looks so empty. It makes me sad. I still have things to put back in place and hope the house looks more inviting then. Consequently, I forgot it was Feb. and I needed to post the Pokey thread.

(((Hugs))) nylene - I can't believe how awful everything has been in the aftermath of the collison - so unfair especially since you weren't at fault. I hope you can get it fixed properly. I bet you are exhausted after putting away all of Christmas and then doing the cleanup - it's so much work and not nearly as fun as putting it all up. I like to do fun meals every now and then - and the kids seem to like them. Fortunately DH never complains about meals - he always eats what I make (even when it doesn't turn out that well).

Happy February, Pokeys! And happy 28-4-28! Yesterday, I sorted my photos and holiday crafting supplies and created some page kits. Was going to pack the rest away today, but then decided I would leave it out in case I wanted to use some bits and pieces, and just put the pages together. I spent today in a scrapping frenzy, but I am now DONE my holiday album! Well today's pages are not actually IN the album yet, but ready to be popped into their protectors. Will share below. It was the Spring 28-4-28 challenge that put the flame under my butt. Wouldn't let myself do that one until I had finished December, and I REALLY wanted to do that one LOL. Wednesday I won't be scrapping. I had to move a couple of appointments from today to tomorrow b/c our lane needed ploughing, so I have blood work and a grocery run in the morning, and then a trip to the vet for Charley's shots in the afternoon. But any of you who are thinking about playing with paper on Wednesday, check out mom's virtual crop. It starts at 10:00AM Central. Paging nylene, Linda, msliz, kellyr21. And justjac, kitbop if you are not at work. Okay, here are some of my pages. I actually used the Pokey cards on them. Can you pick yours out? favourite things by Gramma Dee, on Flickr deck the halls blues by Gramma Dee, on Flickr holiday filled with joy by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Again, Happy February!

How I wish we had never tried to use the insurance to fix the car. How frustrating nylene! Terrible to have to feel that you get the run around from a service you pay (a lot) for! Thank you for starting this thread every month. I did notice it wasn't up yet because I had news...but I knew it would be along I had an unexpected day off yesterday: DS22 (the oldest) FINALLY had his drivers roadtest, and DH was supposed to take him but got called in to work. I was able to arrange a vacation day fortunately. DS has never been keen or enthusiastic about driving. No rush for him. He works 1 mile from home, so he can always get there. I'm so glad that's finally done. Oops - gotta run - no day off today! grammadee - lovely layout! Now I'm gonna have to dig out all my cards and photograph them! Linda - yummers!

Happy almost-the-end-of-the-week, Pokeys! Your tea party supper looks delicious, Linda. Was this for a special occassion? You have such wonderful family traditions. My birthday plans are in flux, again. Dd was planning to come on Saturday and bring a bd cake. But her ds has had cold symptoms since Tuesday evening, and this morning he has developed a fever. So far he has tested negative for COVID, but with dh's heart/lung issues it doesn't make sense to expose him even to a common cold right now if we don't have to. And I don't want to cancel my own plans to travel down to Calgary in a couple of weeks to stay with a couple of the boys there. We ARE planning to have a family Google MEET on Saturday so that some or all of the kids and grandkids can chat with us for an hour or so, or at least drop in to the chat some time during that hour. And then--touch wood--we plan to have Sunday brunch with dh's sister's family. I hope you get lots of scrappy time on your days off, kitbop. I spent this morning putting all my Christmas scrap crap AWAY! It is in the bottom corner of the cupboard where it needs to stay until holiday card making time. Vacuumed the floor in here, but still need to put away a bunch of stuff on my counters. Thinking I will try to organize all the thickers and letter stickers that are bursting out of the containers they are in. I know. I know, gramma, if I would just quit BUYING them and cut my titles with the Silhouette, they would not be a problem. That was my plan way back in 2005 when I acquired my WishBlade. But I continue to use them on almost every LO or card. Trouble is I never actually FINISH a sheet of them, so new ones don't replace, they rather add to, the sticker stash. (((((HUGS))))), nylene about the ongoing vehicle issues, and about that blah feeling you have after clearing out all the holiday twinkle. Anyway... back to sorting and storing...

kitbop, congrats to your DS. Even if he hasn't been anxious to learn to drive, he will be happy that he did. It's such a necessary skill unless you live where there is mass transit easily available. Even then, it's a great skill to have. grammadee, I hope you can still have a Happy Birthday tomorrow. I understand not taking chances on getting sick. Your Christmas pages are so delightful. I have photos winging there way here from Costco so I can finish with Christmas. I hope your DGS feels better soon. kellyr21, I saw that you had been in the gallery. Thank you for your sweet comments. I miss seeing your smiling face pop up. Take good care of yourself. Come visit when you feel up to it. Linda, I can't believe you have completed 100 pages+ in a month. I'm feeling great when I get 4 done. We spend part of yesterday afternoon sitting in the collision office while they fixed the back door. We let them know that the lift gate won't stay latched so they said they would fix that too. On the way out of their parking lot there was a little bump where it meets the roadway. Sure enough, the lift gate popped open again. So they said we could bring it back in another day to have it worked on. What a fiasco. I am feeling better about my house now that the pictures are back on the walls and things are put back in place. It seems a bit empty, but is also restful feeling. I am trying to straighten my scraproom so I can join the online crop on Sat. Waving to all the Pokeys! Drop in when you can.

grammadee - not really a special occasion, we used the excuse of it being St Brigid's day (scones and butter are somewhat traditional for that) but it's not something we celebrate yearly. I'm so sorry about your birthday plans but better safe than sorry. Good job cleaning up the scrap room - and good luck with the thickers. I need some tips from gramma on diecutting titles - mine never look that good. nylene - I've had plenty of scrappy time lately - too cold for yardwork and I'm home alone most days from about 8am to 430/530pm. What a pain with the car - glad that the back door is fixed but how annoying that the lift gate still isn't. Not home alone today though - DD had a runny nose, sore throat, and nausea when she got home yesterday and when I checked on her this morning she had added a low-grade fever. Home rapid test was negative but fever = no school. I had to reschedule her oral surgery consult -fortunately they had had another cancellation so she's on the schedule for late Feb because otherwise they were booking into April. She's scheduled for a covid booster tomorrow and I suspect we'll be rescheduling that as well. And DH is working from home based on his office's covid protoccols because she's sick.

Maybe there are enough similarities between the two that we can figure something out. A couple of others have asked about how to do layered titles - so one of these times when we are doing a virtual crop I'll do the share my screen thing.

Hello Pokeys! nylene no worries about the thread, but I AM glad it was just forgetfulness You have a lot on your plate and what the heck are they doing to your car?! How can it come out worse than it went in, more than once? I'm the opposite about the Christmas tree. I never want to drag it out but I'm always happy to put it away lol. I didn't put it away until after new year this year. Usually it's down on the 26th lol. grammadee that sucks about your bday plans, but better safe than sorry. I don't know if we are ever really going to feel safe visiting people again. The meet sounds fun and I'll bet it's lots of fun with your bunch. If your LO's are any indication of what a fun family you have Linda your tea looks so yummy and I love the different things your family celebrates, it's so cool. Breakfast for dinner happens here at least 3 nights a week. It's fast, and easy and doesn't take all evening to cook lol. I usually cook my main "meal" at lunch time if I'm doing any real cooking. Good luck with the rowing. I have a hard time sticking to something every day. Even when I know it's good for me. I have a Cricut Expression too, but not SCAL, can you still use the shadow feature? That's how I make my layered titles. When I ever remember to use the cricut. Just like grammadee, I got one so that I could stop buying thickers and stickers but keep buying those and not using the Cricut. Although alphas are on my No Buy list right now, in hopes I'll use the Cricut more often. kitbop wow congrats to DS! My two were 18 before they got their driver's licenses (so was I lol) How are the tap classes going? I saw that in the team thread and forgot to ask. kellyr21 - Go RAMS!! I hope you'll pop in when you feel like it. I hope you are still painting. Not much going on here lately. Lots of TV with Abby lol. And working here and there on my DD. I have a kid free weekend so I'm planning to be at both crops (hosting Sunday) and I think I'll work on the 28-4-28 challenges for a break from all things December. It's February, I need to get that album done and dusted. I also want to try some of the POTW challenges soon, and the Saturday sketches, sooo many things, not enough time lol. It's super cold here right now and we had about 6 inches of snow yesterday. Which is a good storm for us. If only I had been able to take a snow day it would have been perfect.

Happy Birthday, grammadee!! I have been exhausted from work. We are still doing crisis staffing but we have been going up to 53 to 56 patients depending on staffing. We are supposed to have 36 patients. I charge a lot and also have to take a few patients. Then everyone still asks me for help like I am a free charge and I can't get charting done on the patients I have. I am ready for Omicron to calm down. We have had around 180 Omicron cases. I had my CT scan which was negative. Now, I need to see a urologist to follow up and figure out what is going on. Zoe has her last day of puppy class today. She gets tested on the skills she has learned. I need to practice with her a bit before we go. Last weekend, a friend and I went to a crop. It was fun and I did get a few cards done from a kit I found. I also worked on printing a bunch of photos with my portable printer. I want to make kits with those. I need to get Zoe into the scrapbooks! I have been lounging this morning and need to get ready for the day.

Thanks for the birthday greetings,Pokeys. Pretty quiet day here today. Last night we had take out pizza at dh's sister's home, had some of HER bd cupcakes, and played Canasta for a couple of hours. This evening we are having a Google MEET get together with kids and grandkids. Dd had arranged for a cake, and had her cousin pick it up for her, so it is sitting in the fridge unseen by me since last evening. Will pull it out and stick a candle on it for a blowing out ceremony some time during our virtual party. Tomorrow we are joining dsil's family for brunch in the next town over. So all in all, a nice celebratory weekend. Glad you took time to drop in, knutschen. And glad you had some play time last weekend. Your work is so stressful, you really deserve it. Would love to see some pic's of the cards you made. Good luck with your scrapbook kit making. And the pages that result from them. Received your Christmas card this week with the sweet photo of the dogs with Santa. You will need to scrap THAT photo for sure!

Happy Birthday grammadee - sounds like you're making a nice weekend of it. knutschen - I'm sorry work is so super busy and stressful - I'm glad that your scan was negative but hope you get answers soon. Yay for scrappy time DD15 is feeling better - thankfully. She did a second rapid test today - still negative - so I think we're in the clear. She's going to a friend's for an outdoor birthday party tonight (cookout and a movie) and looking forward to that. She's going to need to dress warm - it'll only be in the 40s

Linda, I'm glad your DD is doing better and can attend the birthday party. That sounds like it will be a little chilly outdoors. I hope she has a great time. knutschen, so happy that your CT scan was negative. Hope you can get answers from the urologist. Your schedule sounds rugged. My nurse friend says that most nurses are under that pressure right now. I hope things let up for you soon. Hugs. It's always nice to see you popping in. grammadee, I hope you have a great day! Your zoom birthday sounds like fun and the brunch tomorrow will be nice too. joyfulnana, we didn't get any snow at all last week. Two miles away, Em got about 3 inches but we didn't even get a skiff. Six inches would be nice to help our water table. Has your snow stayed or melted off? It's cold here but the sun is out which is unusual. We usually have a haze in the air from inversion when it's really cold. Sorry you couldn't take a snow day! I hope to join the online crop later today.

Happy birthday grammadee. I hope you have a wonderful weekend even if it wasn’t what you originally planned. nylene I’m sorry that you’re dealing with all these issues with your vehicle. My mil is doing five days of radiation starting on Monday. Dean is going to go stay at his cousin’s so he can be there for his mom. We’ve been having his dad and brother over for supper every night both to keep everyone up to date and to make sure his dad is eating a good meal. It’s different meal planning for four. I’m working away on my layout a day challenge.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY grammadee ! I'm glad you are getting to see some people over the weekend and I hope you feel as special as you are! justjac - that is a great way to contribute to your MILs care, by taking care of your FIL. I'm very afraid that when the kids move out I won't know how to cook for less than 5 big appetites who enjoy leftovers... but I think it is cheaper to make big meals! Here is a VERY good soup that we have every couple of weeks: potato soup There is no cheese in the soup and we don't add it to the top. And we usually don't add the cream, just extra milk. Linda - I've had a sore throat/headache, dribbly nose and on-and-off fever for a few days (feeling fine today finally) - but with daily rapid testing and a PCR test twice in there too (work ) I'm very sure that it's just another run-of-the-mill virus. They still exist

Happy Sunday and waving hello! nylene - Niss you gals, too! Your latest pages of your ggks are so adorable! I have enjoyed popping into our Two Peas gallery and seeing everyone's work. I found an embroidery kit on Amazon and I tried it. It came with 3 designs and all the supplies. It has been fun and relaxing. I almost have the last one done. Boy, I keep surprising myself with how fun different crafts are. 🙂 grammadee - Happy belated birthday! Hope u had a wonderful day. joyfulnana - I was rooting for your team and sad they lost. Very excited to see the rams going to the superbowl. I plan to let my dh watch it while I watch something less stressful. Lol! Maybe I'll watch the end if it's not a nail biter. 🤔 😂 Fingers crossed!

justjac, I'm glad you are taking care of your DFIL. That's a great help, I'm sure. I can't imagine doing LOAD. You are wonderwoman! kitbop, I hope your pesky virus is leaving soon. I'm glad that you have been tested and it isn't the nasty virus. Take care of yourself. msliz, thanks for hosting the crop yesterday. I got so much done that was hanging over my head. All the Valentines will go to the Women's meeting Tuesday night to be signed and distributed to nursing homes and shut-ins. I won't be going because too many are anti-vaxers and anti-maskers and I am taking every precaution. Our numbers are still very high here. It was fun to see grammadee pop in for a few minutes on her birthday! kellyr21, it's so nice to see you. I would love to see your embroidery. I enjoy stitching very much, but find that my eyes just don't let me do much of it. I hope you will take a photo for us. How are things in your area? I hope you and Ron are staying safe from Covid. I'm working on a page that isn't coming together very well. It has LOTS of journaling and that takes so much room on an 8.5x11. Maybe I should make it hidden, but I want Alex to be able to read it when he thumbs through my albums.

Happy Monday, Pokeys, and happy new week!
Hoping to get back into scrapping this week. Spent last week wrapping up Christmas, putting that away and getting some order into my scraproom. I don't clean after each page or project, but try to reorganize between themes.
Have one page started on my scrap counter and need to print a photo to go on it. After that, not sure what to work on. Need to go through the photos still tucked into the Fall bin. Am printing off my Word document of the 28-4-28 challenges to date to I can figure out which challenge might work for which story.
Planning to leave for Calgary the end of next week, so while I am going through photos and challenges, I may start to put together some page kits to take with me. Will be grandparenting the boys, so while they are in school, I should be able to play with paper.
And whatever scrappy thing I decide to do this week, I had better get going on it, b/c I will have just three days. Dgs and his dad will be arriving Wednesday evening for a five day weekend.

nylene is this layout 1 or 2 pages? When I was scrapping 8.5x11 and had a lot to say, I would make a two page spread with the photos on one side and journaling on the other. I did a few that way. kellyr21 I was sad, then relieved. Now I don't have to stress watching the SuperBowl lol. I feel for your DH, maybe the Rams will blowout the Bengals (sorry grammadee lol). I really thought I could root for the Bengals, but nope. I guess I'm not that big of a person LOL! It was fun to drop in to the virtual crop and have you sing Happy Birthday! So cool to have such wonderfully REAL friends. That was FUN! And I know we mention it once in awhile, but I do consider you all my friends, and have enjoyed getting to know you better through the virtual crops and this thread. Enjoy your time in Calgary. I hope the parents get back into Canada with no problems! I finally got a 12x12 done this weekend. It feels like it kick started my mojo. I'm going to be matching up photos, Saturday sketches, and 28-4-28 challenges hoping to kill lots of birds with one stone lol.

Hello, Pokeys! Hoping you are all well. kitbop have you recovered? You amaze me, kellyr21 , with all the different arts and crafts you learn. My mother used to embroider. I have done some crewel pieces, but nothing very detailed or following a pattern. I see that you have been scrapping up a storm, Linda . I have five of the ten challenges completed, which is more than I thought I would have done by now. It was nice to spend a little time with justjac on Tuesday. A couple of hours went by much too quickly. Mikey and his dad arrived just before lunch, and we have been busy since then, but they are out chipping ice on the driveway, so thought I would check in for a minute. He has his envelopes done for his valentines--just had to print the kids' names from the provided list--and has chosen the puns he wants to use. I set up a table in word and have a draft for him to look at when he comes in. If he likes it, they can be printed on white cs. Tomorrow they plan to go skiing, so I will have time to diecut all the animals to go on the cards, and then Saturday he can assemble them. Waving hi to nylene and gramma and joyfulnana , and knutschen and msliz and the others. Hoping all is well.
