I’ll be setting colour challenges on Thursdays this month. Today’s challenge is to do a mono-chromatic layout – using shades of the same colour. A small amount of a neutral (white/black) or metallic is okay for embellishments or as your background canvas. And today’s twist – scrapbook one or more photos of YOU – take a selfie if you need to – but as sleepingbooty recently posted, we need to make a conscious decision to be in our photos and scrapbooks. I dug deep into my stash for the papers and flowers and nearly seven years back for my photograph (May 2015)  |

Ooooh... Another great challenge. The monochromatic will be easy, I think. Still have some winter photos to scrap and they always seem to work with shades of blue. The ME part is a bit harder. Might need to do this page for my birthday LO later this month. And your page is beautiful, Linda. Love that you chose peach as your colour and that you found all these different designs and textures and shades. You look very contemplative in your selfie. I always seem to twist my face up some weird way when attempting one. |

Is the 28-4-28 challenge only for layouts or can we do them with cards and pocket pages?

@sunnycamom - you can do pocket pages, cards, any type of paper crafting project really. The twist for this one might be tricky on card but should work fine on a pocket page but certainly the main challenge works for anything really.

Linda thanks so much for the monochrome and self challenge. I have so few pictures of myself in my pages or pocket page albums. This was great motivation to get one in there. Your example is lovely, sweet and says it all: Me. @sunnycamom as a fellow maker of more cards than pages, I love it. Sparkle and glitter is always welcome on valentines. Gatefolds are a fun surprise for the person who opens the card - like "ta da". I hope it is sunny ca for you. Little ice pellets are falling out of the sky over me right now. Ewwwww.

jjpeapea - glad you liked the challenge - great page, I love the blues - esp. the floral in the background and the tiny accents - are they enamel dots or brads?

This is monochromatic...for me! It was actually fun to be limited to choosing embellies that were only blue. But some of my pp/tags had extra colours in them, so I let them join   layout buckle up by kirstendrew, on Flickr And I got myself into this layout and did the journaling from my perspective |

Here's my take on this challenge. I don't sort my embellishments by colour, so I just grabbed a couple sticker sheets and used the ones that were mostly blue.  One of a Kind |

I started off using these photos to do a LO for Ryann 's Spring challenge, but I lost the LO somehow. I mustn't have saved it, then I had to force quit Photoshop. When I started re-doing it, I realised that the photos would work really well for a monochromatic page instead. So here we are!  |

Ya wanted ME on a page? Decided if I was going to be brave enough to feature a selfie of me, I may as well use THESE ones taken at various points over the past year LOL.  On my Way by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The last one was taken leaving the hospital after my gall bladder surgery. I chose BLUE as my colour to work with the masks. |

linda, I like the soft colors you chose, and also your selfie, you look deep in thought, and not goofy (like my selfies always are, lol!) @sunnycamom, lovely card! Is that considered a gatefold? It looks just perfect! grammadee, that is a very brave lo and the colors do work well! @jjpea, pretty floral background and the tiny accents give your lo a peaceful feel, like you are cycling through a meadow! kitbop, cool milestone lol, even though there are other colors in there it still reads mono-chromatic, and the lovely blues come through! justjac, I really like how the focus is on you and your story, and the gorgeous paper supports that! Linda, thank you for this challenge. I was able to find a couple of photos of me so I can work on your challenges. I love the pinks/salmons on your layout. Such a pretty shade and the flowers match perfectly. I love the softness in the colors. It’s fun to see you too. @sunnycamom, I love your pretty Valentine. Glitter is always a good idea.
