I still have one in college and my eldest was before him. So I've been paying the $49 rate for many years. It may be shell shock when the time comes but I'm ignoring the price increase for now. "Kids" are good for something after all.

I have prime student since I have an alumni account. I think it’s around $60/year? We don’t use music, video, photos, etc. Just the shopping end. That said my stuff takes a week MINIMUM to get to my house even with prime, did not used to. I need to just cancel. I also hate Bezos. Lol. Problem is, I live rural and there is NOTHING nearby. If I order it to school (where I currently work), I get it next day or 2days. But, I will not be at that site any longer next year and delivery to my new school is just as bad as to my house.

I started using prime when my oldest daughter started college. It's an easy way to get things to her. She has been out of school almost three years and she still uses my account. She has her credit card in the payment options and chooses that when she checks out. If it was just me using it, I would really consider getting rid of it. I don't know that I get $139 in value out of it. My youngest is in college, so it's been handy again to get things sent to her.

Our membership just renewed (literally today) at the $119 price. I put a reminder in our calendar to re-evaluate at the end of January next year.

I just renewed last week so I missed the increased fee. I get a lot of value out of my membership beyond the shipping fees - I used Prime Music, Prime Reading (the monthly free book and the ones I can borrow), Prime Video and Prime Photos. The value is there for me and I'm actually ok with the increase.

We have a family account which includes my now adult daughters. When we started, they were still in HS.

I am so frustrated with the SLOWNESS of getting anything from Amazon. I have Prime, but it takes forever to get stuff. A week in shipping is not uncommon. When I first had Prime, things would come next day or within two days - always. Two days was fine. I live in a rural area, not close to any major hubs in any way. But now it takes so dang long. I can order something from Target or Walmart and have it in one or two days. So what gives? I know shipping has changed with the pandemic, and there are so many more orders - but if Target and Walmart can get it to me timely - and I DO NOT have any subscriptions to them, but I pay all this money for Prime - what is up with that? Complaining to Amazon falls on deaf ears too. We do use Prime streaming and I do get my free kindle book every month.

My 3 adult daughters all use my Prime account. The one who lives in Virginia can sometimes add something to my cart and other times can't. When that happens, she just sends me the link and asks me to order it. We keep track of her purchases and she pays me back.
I also order a lot for Mom and have it sent directly to her.
I can still justify it with the increased price due to the streaming, photo storage, music, and free shipping since I rarely order anything over $25 (or is it $35?) to get free shipping. I could save up orders until I met the free-shipping threshold, but I like the convenience. The new price is still under $10 per month, so it is definitely worth it for now.
When my kids all have their own households and no longer want to mess with going through Mom for free shipping, then I guess we will re-evaluate LOL.

Mine renewed mid January, so I have a while to think about it. My MIL also uses it, lives in a rural area and comments often about how it's a lifesaver for her, so I'd likely keep it.
But Target has really been outpacing in stock items, price and shipping, so if I was organized, I'd start keeping track.

Mine renewed already. I will have to think about the renewal next year. My husband and 4 children all use my account. I can see everyone's payment method. I have not heard of the head of household option. I started it for free shipping. I stream some things. I don't know if it will be worth it to keep it. I am not surprised that it is going up.

DH pays for prime for the streaming and I use it primarily for photos, the free Kindle book every month, and free shipping - it wouldn't be worth it to me to pay just for that but since DH has it...I'm happy to use it. We have our own amazon accounts and I can't see what he buys and vice versa

I share mine with work—sort of!
I have all my payment methods set up and the we added the work credit card so that we can use my prime. I only see the last 4 digits of the Cc, and we’ve never accidentally ordered using each other’s funding.

We share with our adult daughters. One lives with us, one doesn't. Payments methods don't show most of the account number. It will show type (Visa, MC, etc.) but it is listed by name of owner, so that has never been an issue for us. That said, there is nothing preventing me from paying with someone else's payment method and sending the stuff to me, so you probably should trust whomever you share the account with. Sometimes it makes me put in the code on the card, but not always. My youngest listens to Amazon music all the time, and DH watches a lot of the shows, so it's worth it to us to keep it.
P.S. I just hit Drama Llama with this post! Woohoo!
From reading the link provided, I was under the impression that you could only use one method for payment per account, and paying each other back would be a PIA. I did not realize that you each can have your own method of payment, thank you. We currently have 5 methods of payment on our account!
