What flooring do you have where you craft?
My room is converted from an office space that has wall to wall grey Berber carpeting. It is nice on my feet and legs—I stand to scrap—but is NOT fun to vacuum. The little bits and pieces get themselves tangled in the carpet loops, and I have to crawl around picking them up with my fingers before going over with the power nozzle. And even if I don’t see anything to pick up, I need to make absolutely sure no tiny dies are stuck in the carpet.

I have beige wall to wall carpet in mine also - it's technically the formal living room space. I have mixed feelings about it - the laminite flooring we have in some of the rooms is easier to keep clean and certainly easier to pick sewing pins off of and is much prettier but my feet don't like it as much

I also have gray berber in mine. I wish I would have thought to ask DH to remove it before we setup all the furniture. It didn't even occur to me as the carpet was pretty new and looks great. But, I had hardwood in my last craft room and I miss the easy of cleaning it compared to the carpet.

My craft space has hardwood floors so that makes it easy. When I had a carpeted space I had an oversized chair matte under my desk and chair and that made it easy to clean up.

Carpet.
I don’t make that much of a mess on it with scrapbooking, it’s the dog hair I track in from the surrounding rooms that annoys the heck out of me. My scrap room is a downstairs bedroom, and the only room downstairs with carpet. My socks/feet pick up all the floofs and deposit it in the carpet. I vacuum the downstairs at minimum twice a day and it’s still not enough.

Like you, I also stand to scrap. My dedicated craft room has hardwoods with an area rug under the project table situated in the middle.

I have hardwood floors. So easy to clean. My old scrap room had carpet and it was so hard to get all the bits and pieces vacuumed up. I am a messy scrapper.

honeypea - I have feline scrapping partners and they deposit rather a lot fur as well. I'm not an especially messy scrapper either but the backings to the photo squares seem to migrate...

carpet over hardwood. I really want to rip up that carpet. I hate having to drag the vacuum in to clean it. I think it's going to be a project for this year.

I have hardwood floor with an area rug in the center. Since it's just an area rug, I can use my portable mini-vac on it instead of lugging the whole regular vaccuum in. There are no other carpeted rooms or area rugs on this floor of our split level so I wouldn't need the big vac anywhere else. I like that I can just sweep up the little bits from under the scrap desk and/or my computer desk. Most of the mess doesn't make it over to the area rug.

I have carpet as mine space was originally a bedroom. I'm not a messy scrapper so other than when my cat tips over the bin and pulls the contents across the floor, I don't have scrappy bits to clean up. Although the ease of timber might be nice, I prefer the warmth and cosiness the carpet gives.

I’m another one with an area rug over hardwood. My work surface is a kitchen island I specifically purchased for my craft room and although I have a chair, I mostly stand.
I use a Dyson cordless vacuum to vacuum after every crafting session to pick up scraps and dog hair. LOL

Tile with a rug under my main work table. I’ve also had carpet, hardwood, and a rug over the carpet and under the work table. All have their pros and cons. But I always check to make sure that I have all my small dies before I put them away.

I have tile on my floor. It's easy to clean I do most of my scrapping sitting down, although my desk is a "high" desk with a chair that would be at a high table if that makes sense.

I have a large area rug that came with the house. I'm not a fan of the floor so I kept the rug but admit it is a challenge to clean.

I currently have hardwood with an area rug. My new space will be all carpet. I would prefer a hard surface, but will just buy a large office rolling mat.

Polished 1940s concrete. It is AMAZING. Anyone with a basement craft room, consider polishing the floors. Nothing sticks to it. Easy to sweep and clean. Paint, ink and glue clean up so nicely.

I have a low pile shag carpet. It vacuums easily enough, but the attic is so full of everyone's stuff that I have trouble seeing the floor to do it. I'm glad for the carpeting (I often sit on the floor when I craft) but I do worry about it when DD takes out her paints!

After about ten years, the ink/paint colours seem to fade. Can hardly see the splash marks where dgd dropped an open bottle of black ink on the rug in here about ten years ago . I mean, I can still see it, but it doesn't leap out at me when I walk into the room...

1980s tile in the dining room. It’s okay to craft on, but little paper bits get in the grout lines and can be a pain to sweep up when they’re staticky.

I have generic carpet in the area I am using now (corner of bedroom).
I am planning for the interior of my she-shed though, and it will have vinyl! One big piece, no cracks or crevices to worry about things getting stuck or cold seeping through. LOL I will have an area rug under my workspace though I think.

I have epoxy flooring in my basement craft room. It’s amazing and I wish I could do the entire upstairs of our raised ranch in it. Super easy to clean and looks clean when it’s not.

I have hardwood with a large area rug. It's easy enough to clean and helps that I'm not a messy crafter.

Now a She Shed sounds like a marvelous idea! And if you have that much detail in your plans for the floor, what will the rest be like? How big will it be? Do you have a room now where it will be located? Or will it be an actual outdoor stand alone? Visions of the Golden Girls' lanai come to mind... When it is finished can I come and play with you?

Wait, y'all don't have paper all over your floors like I would if I had a dedicated scraproom?
All kidding aside, it's just generic, no fun apartment carpet over here for me. One day...
