…That no matter how many rolls of washi tape you have, you never have the one that seems just right for your project. Sigh…

Right? I have tons and I can never find one that matches the way I want!

Yep, I hear ya. I found a roll of the paper medical tape in the back of a drawer that I had bought one time to make my own color/designs; I never did use it but still kinda wonder how/if that would work out.
I may work up enough energy to try that again sometime. With new tape, this was kinda old and groody so it went in the trash.

Yes! I really don't use that much in the way of Washi tape but I have mountains of the stuff. Do you think I can ever find a perfect match? Nope, never. I am more likely to pull out an off cut of paper from my scraps bin and trim that down to size. I have stopped buying washi for that reason. I bought a whole heap of second hand scrapbooking stuff from a lady off Marketplace and she had a ton of Doodlebug washi in there so I decided that for every one of hers I kept I had to get rid of one I already owned.....still own more than I could ever use.

But I find the same thing with cardstock. I am feeling forced to buy the plain collections that are companions to the pp. I can kinda understand it with green or purple, but how many colours of BLACK can there be?

This is what I was going to say, too. I can have 200 pieces of red cardstock, but not the right one.

Same! I do like to have the solid MT ones around, and I have a set of neon washi from Recollections. I probably use those more than the theme ones!

Oh, my gosh, the cardstock problem. I never have the right shade and I'm pretty particular.
A warm red is so much different than a cool red- you cannot use the wrong one or it looks terrible.
I can never find good dark blues.
I think there are more shades of green than any other color. Warm ones, cool ones, aquas, olives- I have to go through so many to find the right one- and I noticed yesterday my selection was getting limited- off to check the scrapbook websites...
Also creams- I am a white-based pattern paper fan. I don't mind the off-whites, creams, and beiges but again, there are warm ones, cool ones, grey ones, etc. I hate having to have that many shades so I can match all of the lines.

Yep! I stopped buying it years ago as I had so much and nothing ever worked with my projects. I then tried to do projects based on the washi tape, which made me mad I even thought about doing it. That is one product I can walk away from no matter what - a big sale won't make me buy more, or what I think is a great design that I'm sure won't work like all the rest. For me, Washi Tape was a Big Fail.

I don't care much for washi - it's hard to peel off, it tears easily, doesn't stick well, and never matches anything
But cardstock...I have SO MUCH cardstock because I'm always looking for the right colour/shade

This is probably why I find myself reaching for the same couple of washis over and over again.
And my cardstock colours are definitely getting thin. I don't use coloured cardstock often, and don't plan to replace most of it when it's gone, but I can definitely tell that the greens I have left in my stash don't match very much of what I scrap.
