I don't think there's a 100 day project thread for this year yet, is there? So here we go... Basic info here: www.the100dayproject.org/but it's pretty straightforward... choose something to do for 100 days, maybe something that will allow you to build a new skill with lots of practice, or something that you want to become a regular habit. If you miss a day (and most likely you will) decide whether you want to tack on another day at the end or just continue on. Feel free to post about your project here if you want to. There are also IG hashtags and it's also fun to make your own custom hashtag so you can look back on your progress. Or just do the thing

I'm going to do 100 days focus on finishing. I have a mountain of unfinished card projects including lots of colored die cuts and panels that I made during last year's 100 days that need to become cards or go away. I'm not going to play this one strictly as "finish 1 card each day for 100 days" because that sounds like torture to me. I like to go with the flow when I can and I hope to finish a lot of cards some days. I also have some other areas of my life that could use a little focus on finishing so I might do other things some days. We'll see.

I’m going to attempt 100 days of mixed media. 🤣 I’m going to aim for a 4x6 card. I’m obsessed with Felictas’ work. It’s like so the opposite of my normal stuff. It’s either going to be amazing or a complete fail.

Last year I failed at my watercoloring 🙃. So this year I might keep it broad, maybe just go to my craftroom and spend some time there. Cleaning, cardmaking, organizing and working on my dolls. I just got 3 factory blythe dolls and I want to make clothes for them and learning to carve and color their faces. Im not a sewer so this would be a good challenge too.

My friend and i started a week ago oops! I already have 25 cards made (easy multiples of some). I think I have move on from cards though - Im pretty stocked up from the 2 sessions we did last year. We spend a minimum 20 min daily in our studios. We can organize, clean, prep, make cards, scrapbook, paint, whatever works in that time...just be in the studio.

Last year was my first time participating and my goal was generic: craft everyday.
This year I’m doing 100 days of paper lollies. I really enjoy making them and they’re pretty quick & easy to put together. I started a list of different themes I can do so I have some direction for the challenge.

My friend and i started a week ago oops! Whenever works though, right? It's all arbitrary. I know someone who adjusts the starting day so it ends on her birthday, which makes sense to me. I'm considering counting mine as starting yesterday because I'm ready to go and I'm already working to finish off some projects. I also don't put too much emphasis in the finish date for things like this because when there's a distinct finish line I tend to stop dead once I reach it - and that's why I have a massive stack of colored things from last year that never made it onto cards. I was so done by the 100th day and I didn't make a plan for using what I created.

I am playing along. I did a test the other day. I will be doing 2 3/4" square "pages" for 100 days. They take just a few minutes too. This was my test sample to see what I will challenge myself to do. I am going to use 3 paints and 3 tools each page plus white or black.

I did this twice last year and I’m wondering if I burned myself out. LOL I loved doing it, though.
I wrote a few sentences and took a picture every day for the 100 days, and I have two nice memory journals as a result! I tried to document the little things in life. Often I wrote more than just a few sentences and took more than one picture.
I have a book to use - just need to decide if I’m going to do it and prepare.

I might do the same one I've done for the last couple years and colour every day. It gets me to use the cute stamps I keep buying and helps build up my greeting card stash.

I'm going to try and play along. My goal is to practice playing around with mixed media. I have mad respect for people who can do this and make it look effortless! I've done a few pages (about 5x7) and just wondering how long until it stops looking like crap? 😅 good thing its just a fun crafty practice!

I've been kicking around doing 10 minutes of sketching on my iPad or a photo a day. I'd really like to practice drawing on the iPad but my remembering to take photos has been garbage lately, so it might be nice to have some motivation to snap some pictures. I've never done 100 days before and every year get FOMO.

I did this twice last year and I’m wondering if I burned myself out. LOL I loved doing it, though. How are you feeling as we get closer to the start date? excitement or dread? There's no harm in waiting until later in the year if you're feeling burned out. I might do the same one I've done for the last couple years and colour every day. It gets me to use the cute stamps I keep buying and helps build up my greeting card stash. I was really impressed by how many of your colorings you turned into cards right away last year. I should've followed your lead! My goal is to practice playing around with mixed media. I have mad respect for people who can do this and make it look effortless! I've done a few pages (about 5x7) and just wondering how long until it stops looking like crap? 😅 I believe the trick is usually to add more and then add a little more... but maybe knowing when to stop is also important...? I never mastered mixed media but it's fun to get messy and play. Good luck I've been kicking around doing 10 minutes of sketching on my iPad or a photo a day. Which one sounds exciting as we get closer? It can be a real slog after day 50 or so, no matter what you pick to do. Taking photos might feed into larger memory keeping goals but I like doing drawing/sketching projects you can really see improvement in your skills with the daily practice.

I did day 1. I started a mixed media piece. Gesso, paint, some scraps. Tomorrow I shall put another layer on it. I think I like layered pieces. At least that’s what I figured out from a couple videos I watched. So far mine is a little boring but it’s not bad. It has potential to be something good.

I’m actually missing documenting every day. I might try the HS method and do it by the week. I subscribed to her Stop the Blur but haven’t had time to watch them!

I’ve participated for the last 2 years. My goal is always 100 days of creating. I completed the previous years (though not in consecutive days). I hope to continue my trend. I’m starting with a Dina wakley mixed media journal to see if it inspires me.

I was tempted, but have decided not to join in. You can call me a free spirit. Or maybe just flakey. I tend to binge scrap/craft, then not do anything for a few--or more--days. And over the next 100 days, I hope to be driving for one trip then flying for another to spend time with my dgk's. I can't commit to 100 days of any specific activity, even just "crafting every day", b/c there are days I won't be doing it and then I will feel like a failure. If I keep just going with the flow, I can feel happy when I am crafting, but then enjoying whatever else I am doing instead . Don't think there is a day I don't THINK about scrapbooking or card making, or using my art supplies. Actually DOING it is another story .

I think about it every day but don't do it every day. That being said, I'm going to try this again but keep it simple - 100 days of photo edits, that could be anything from cropping photos to get ready to print to turning them B&W or even just deleting some of the excessive amounts of photos I have. I'm usually on my laptop for at least 30 minutes a day doing nothing but looking at pinterest or reading threads here so I can spend at least 10 of those 30 minutes editing/deleting photos!

Don't think there is a day I don't THINK about scrapbooking or card making, or using my art supplies. Actually DOING it is another story . That's totally fair. I felt the same way for many years and specifically refuse to do any kind of 100 days of making a card every day - even though I make cards most days and think about making cards most days I don't want to do it that way. I don't make crochet into a 100 day project either even though I do it almost every evening. I found it most valuable for a new skill that I wanted to build that needed a little practice every day. I really noticed how much my drawing improved when I did a little notebook page every day. But I also realized that drawing might not be my thing - I really struggled to do it every day. I may actually keep my "February focus on finishing" as more of a OLW goal and switch my 100 day project to a skill builder (I want to get back to Procreate drawing...?) My "finishing" already feels too vague to be a 100 day project and didn't I just say that I wouldn't do a card a day thing? lol. Anyway, you do you! I love just getting into a flow when I'm creating but also having times when I can enjoy other things Helps keep the process joyful and not get burned out.

I joined over there but am still finding my way around. I did print off the decluttering chart! I might do that for 100-days. I'll still document but the pressure of doing it every day won't be there

How's everyone doing? Today was my first day, and the category for this week's 100 Days of De-cluttering is paper! I took all my cardstock scraps and used a new die set I got from Paper Roses that are 10 different sized stitched rectangles - the perfect size for doing A2 cards. I have a nice pile of die-cuts to use the next time I make cards. Tomorrow, I'll tackle my patterned paper scraps and do the same.

I’ve never completed this project. My last go was to make a 4x6 sized artwork each day. Super similar to the example @patter showed above (beautiful!!). Unfortunately, I really really underestimated the time it took to do the things I wanted to try. I ended up defaulting to stuff that was quick for me (watercolors), despite that not giving me the variety of mixed materials I craved. I fizzled out.
After pondering my other goals I think I have a project that would be simple, not demanding of my time - 100 days of activity photos. A picture from my daily walk, or other workout. An opportunity to play around with photography angles, who knows. I can handle a snap a day, and this will support my exercise habit I’ve been working on reinforcing (since back to back injuries last fall & winter). In the end I’ll put the 100 photos into a project of some kind.

As I was posting my first project to IG, I decided to broaden my scope just a little. Instead of 100 days of paper lollies, I’m instead going to do DIY embellishments. I think that will be a more interesting project. It will help me get outside my comfort zone a bit and really use up some of my stash! http://instagram.com/p/CZ7tEYdve3Q
